  I have an iphone 6 more than I bought unlocked Apple I would like to offer my 84 year old mother.  However, she is on the Verizon network and has been for years.  I used more than 6 T mobile for the year that I used it.  I see a discussion about how the Verizon version has CDMA capability, but it looks like that I use on T mobile may not have this capability.  Is anyone know definitively?  I won't do if MOM loses some features with this phone.

Should I go to an independent phone unlocker (apparently that might bugger the warranty of the phone and empty), or do it myself (also voids the warranty) or do I just do it through EE (might require a certain amount of time spent with this network)? And also heard that the first 2 options are not always permanent solutions?

  There is only one way to get an iPhone Unlocked permanently and good, and that's to ask the carrier for an unlock is locked. Apple do not unlock phones because it does not lock them in the first place, do carriers. If you pay some hack to unlock, it will relock just in any case the first time, you have a problem and want to restore.  Person other than the carrier claiming to unlock is indeed apply a hack, plain and simple. Only carriers may unlock permanently locked to their network.

  Your only real option is to get EA to unlock, which means meeting some terms they have to free unlimited. Or, sell an EE user it and buy you a direct unlocked Apple device.
