This feature is not available on the BlackBerry. But you can install a third-party application on your device, which will do exactly that.
A popular one is "alert BlackBerry":

One of the evangelists 'Developer' RIM working outside South Africa, I think, so there should be someone local you can talk too. If you message Mark Sohm (the RIM name you will see a lot on the forum - MSohm), with your e-mail address and it ask to put you in contact with the Developer Evangelist in SA, which should help. You can tell Mark to ask me if he needs clarification. Do not promise anything either but I hope that something will happen.

Protect the blackBerry Smartphones BB and device password
I just read a message on a stolen blackberry, and protect the response of BB, it's something all ready on the phone or you have to load it down, and you can also protect your device with a password that you need to enter it every time you have the keyboard loacked and enough when you activated your phone market?

Response of the blackBerry Smartphones can not email!
Suddenly, since I've updated my BB 8520, I find I can send and receive email - but do not answer them! Any ideas as to why?
Hello and welcome to the community!
After updates or then get email of wobbly, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):
(1) registry HRT
- KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
- Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application
(2) remove and return Service directories
- KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
- If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
- KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
- Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
(3) restart to take batt
- Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.
I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your BIS configuration for these accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.
Good luck!

N.. completely different. For your mobile network, with a strong network carrier (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):
1) register HRT
- KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

2) Remove and return Service books
- KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your configurations for the relevant accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.
For the wireless, there is no sort directly 'reset' nothing beyond removing and reconfiguring of the WiFi network configurations. Beyond that, things as device WIPE, reloading the OS, and other very drastic measures would be required. And, important to note, I have no way of knowing if this is really necessary... you did not no matter what description of what happens, so it is not possible to understand your situation and you give more targeted recommendations.
Good luck!

Cannot save the blackBerry Smartphone Smartphones SMS like any other regular phone?
I bought my BB Torch not too long ago, but it seems that I could fill up to the brim with SMS because it asks me to delete some to make room for more.
I checked online how to fixed this and everything I find is say to go to:
OptionsSMS
Keep Messages on SIM - check no.
There is no on the torch, which is a disappointment.
Anyone know of any way to solve this problem?

I have a Blackberry 9810 "BOLD" and the screen/keyboard lock feature is always activate itself, even when I'm in the middle to send him a text or using the phone. Yesterday, it happened while I was talking on the phone and he cut the call. I can't find an option on my phone to activate switch. How can I solve this problem, because it's practically what makes my phone useless.
Hello
Well, first of all... No... no 'BB support' can answer you here. This is because, when they gave to you when you register on this site, this site has nothing to do with any formal support any. On the contrary, it is a community of users where volunteers try to troubleshoot other kind souls to the best of their ability. Unfortunately, no response would mean that anyone who took the time to read your post has something useful to you.
From what you describe, I would infer that there is a wrong application behave which interferes with the function of locking, or maybe your operating system is somehow corrupted, or maybe a combination of the two. What I recommend is the following:
- Reload your own OS and as "skeleton" as possible (for example, whatever it is optional, let power off)
- If the problem immediately presented, then repeat step 1, but with an OS different package... maybe there's a bug in the specific operating system you run.
- If the problem does not immediately, then run for maybe a week-long enough to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
- If the behavior does not after a week, add just one thing (just one... no matter how tempting it is to add more!)
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the behavior is, how well do you know the culprit
- If the behavior does not, then you know that reloading the OS or switch to another operating system package was the cure.
If none of this he healed, then you will have a physical hardware problem for which assessment in the hand by a qualified material is of course necessary. If you are under warranty, you seeking your warranty provider - normally your place of origin of the purchase, your provider of mobile service or one authorized service center (it varies by location, but you should have received the documentation at the front that tells you exactly how to use your warranty).
Good luck!

1st, I started having issues, try to connect to my voicemail with T - Mob. I called them, they had to re - setup my voicemail and (update of the settings for my Blackberry to connect properly saying this would happen over a period of 4 hours). They got my answering machine until tonight here. Later this week I get a notification there are applications that have are updates available, so I go to the app world. Things a then from bad to worse - apps I tried to update, new to download and try checking 'My World', I started having the (40760 out of line device) and another code error telling me to connect?
> Do a battery pull and when the phone back up I get error message "completed Application: MPTT was denied permission to cross-application communication.'"
My phone is an unlocked Tour 9630 from Verizon, and I have a monthly plan with TMobile, including the data packet.
Lookiong after this error code (KB24874) it leads me to believe that there is some kind of conflict with the "push to talk" Service Verizon which is not supported by T-Mobile. This problem started when I called T-Mobile to the difficulty of voicemail and they have really no incentive to help me because I have an unlocked phone that they do not initially sell for me...
It is a basic app and I can't remove it... Can I disable or restrict its permissions to stop this conflict? Is there anything I can do wireless or a parameter to change since I don't have a computer at home - only at work?
And he says I have to contact Blackberry technical support for help on this... Try to find a way to contact the Blackberry Support basically sent you here on the forums...
Oh wise and powerful Blackberry Guru and Experts here - can someone help me?
YAY! I fixed it! I got tothinking on these permissions and I went back to them and reset them to "refuse" to "default" (who put them to 'allow') and attempted to access app world and it worked - everything worked!
MPTT is the name of the libraries in the application 'push to talk' and I guess it still needs to set to 'allow' in same permissions if the app is not supported by TMobile.
Thanks for the forums. Even if no one responded, have a place as it has helped me to analyze my own of all the posts that I have sought.
Hope this helps someone if they have the same problems a day

Question of the blackBerry Smartphones Blackberry ID on "BOLD" again.
I changed to a BB BOLD 9900, can't remember the password to my ID and have no idea what the answer to the security question. My camera said go online and I can reset the password with the duty to remember the security question. I can't do it, he wants the issue of security. Now he has locked me twice. Help, please!
Thanks for the clarification...

I passed to the KB26361 and followed the process, it says. Always BB wants a password recovery question answered.
Well, you used, regarding this KB, the word "process", which is the singular form of the word. However, that particular KB contains multiple processes, so I can't say with certainty if you continued through it to the specific method for failing to provide the answer to the security question, with the 'Note', it contains regarding the absence of having already (in the past) confirmed the BB ID... and, if no, then indeed the security issue cannot be circumvented.
Please specify if you have indeed found and tried this specific section in this KB.
davcolpitts wrote:
I don't know what it means the Blackberry ID has not confirmed. How can it be confirmed when it was used on the old BB.
When you create a BBID account, you will receive an email, with a link that you must click to confirm your account (in order to validate, for the system, which you are actually available on this email address). But, if you ignore this request for confirmation, you don't stop using your BBID... for various purposes, but this effect (to automatically recover access to your BBID) is indeed blocked unless you know the answer to the Security Question you created originally (as part of the validation of identity, to ensure that you are who you claim to be).
Since you can now connect in your BBID from anywhere (for example, PC/browser), you can now check the status of your BBID confirmation. Until you solve the access to your BBID, you can't do anything with it now. BBID, like all things BB, is very safe... but the human component is critical for safety. When the human component fails, there is only so that the automatic recovery process can do to help... and you seem to be in a situation that is beyond what those automated recovery process can do.

What information do you meed help.

But, to try to get the human intervention is fully described already in this same post to which I've linked to post you 3 above.

Don't launch the blackBerry Smartphones Applications
I just downloaded a theme OTA and it seems that it is the cause of my "BOLD" for not being able to run almost all of my applications.
I tried to go to 'Options' to delete the theme, but I can't open it same.
Hello josephineloretta
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums
First perform a battery pull reboot as this device on remove the battery for a min. then reinsert it wit back up what your device restarts. Then give it a try and see if it allows you to uninstall this application.
If that does not start then your device on Safe Mode, while safe mode remove the theme of your device. Options of > device > application > remove it of there.after conducting another battery pull reboot.

OK, I am new to Blackberry and devices in general. I had a Palm, but never really used. Now, I have a Blackberry, I really want to learn how to get the most out of it.
I want to get more organized with my calendar and schedule. I want to keep a list of things to do. I want that all my contacts easily manageable.
In my Palm, she had a beautiful desktop app where I could add Notes, or memos or items to my calendar and then synchronize when it would move anywhere in my Palm.
The B; ackberry Desktop application does not seem to have that same out of the box user friendilyness. So my question, what program to use, how total, all this together to get the most out of my Blackberry?
Outlook? Google Calendar? Another program?
Thanks for any suggestions!
Jamie
The most transparent way is synchronization with Outlook, via the Desktop Manager.
Step 1 install Blackberry Desktop Manager Manager of
http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/Step 2
Connect blackberry to your PC via a USB cable and let the blackberry device driver install. During the device driver installation is complete, it will warn 'material installed successfully' in your windows taskbar.Step 3
Run the Blackberry Desktop software and choose the option SYNCHRONIZE.Step 4
Now choose CONFIGURE and you can select the CONTACTS, CALENDAR, NOTES, and databases TASKS by clicking on the boxes next to each. After you select each item, it will ask you which application you want to synchronize with, there are OPPORTUNITIES for all.Step 5
Now click OK on all windows until you are on the main blackberry Desktop Manager screen. Click SYNCHRONIZE. Make sure that the SYNCHRONIZE ORGANIZER DATA checkbox is checked. Now, click SYNCHRONIZE NOW to start the synchronization.
