I use win 7 home on my newly purchased vaio

Since last week, I get an error code 80070005 updating.

Anyone who can help to me... help as soon as possible...

What is a Win7 64 bit computer?

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on the computer (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

  • Windows Update error 80070005 - most likely caused by a Windows Update Agent 3.0 installation - how to solve?

I am running Windows 7 RTM and stupidly installed Windows Update Agent 3.0 (I forget why, it seemed a good idea at the time), but now I find that Windows Update does not work - whenever I try to check the updates, it will fail with error code 80070005

There seems to be no way to remove the Update Agent 3.0 install, despite the restoration of the system, I just found out that it was fixed at 0% of the disc, so I don't have any version of the work system to restore! :(

So, how can I resolve this situation, for example to delete Windows Update Agent 3.0 or otherwise restore the version of the Windows Update files I had before?

And why it does not work anyway? Is it installed... could there be a bug? Or it is fundamentally incompatible with Windows 7 and never should be installed in the first place? In which case can someone at MS please update agent Installer to avoid that it install on Windows 7, so that no one else suffers from the same problem?

Just came across the same thing. stumped for about an hour or two to the point where I was trying just anything. In the end I disabled
McAfee On-Access scanner, ran the update, and it went through fine. Running Windows 7 x 64...

  • Windows update error 80070005 and so on! New theory. Any help?

I had this problem that seems to affect most vista users where after a short while that the packs from windows update.
I tried ALL the solutions offered by people and like so many other users with the same problem. Nothing works.

However, one thing I noticed when trying to find my own solution was that it lacked the library file «wuauserv.dll» I found this trying to pass on automatic updates using the services.msc run program and change the upadte properties. I had an another new error message that says "error 2: could not locate the file ' then watch popular files updated and search my hard drive for them. So I re-uploaded wuauserv.dll (whether it is one, I couldn't find) and moved to the system32 folder, where it should be. Still nothing works.
Actually I can not yet manually launch the much worse is it connect and download updates. It seems to have given up completely. And there may be still more missing files.

But in any case, my conclusion is that it is a problem of file misssing is not a problem of entries has already applied. It's just a case of finding the right files and resettlement.

However, it is more complicated than it seems. I think that there should be a uninstall and reinstall option for the Windows Update program, but microsoft really seem not to care much for this problem, and he made my head for months. and my vista and laptop are only 4 months!

    Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers for the help. I finally found the solution. It's here: http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2006/09/04/739820.aspx
This guy is a legend and gives not only the solution but elso explains the problem in the first place... it was the fault of microsoft. In any case, this is THE definitive answer. Follow it carefully.

  • Update error 80070005 - spend 10 win 8.1 to win 10

    Hello

I can't update my acer aspire switch 10 (32 GB SSD).

Due to lack of disk space, I use a USB drive (16 GB) as additional storage space.

    I tried:

    -windows update to win10

-update of the USB (using the media creation tool)

-using the USB 16 GB (docking station)

-using the micro sd card 16 gb (on shelf)

Every attempt results in the same error. the installation gets no more than 13% (black screen with the percentage).

Then returned to the original installation of win8.1.

    Anyone ideas?

Are there successful switch 10 upgrades?

    Thank you

    Solved

The sollution to this problem is to use an OTG cable with USB and connect it to the screen (Tablet) using the micro usb port.

Then Windows 10 updated without problems.

  • Windows update error code 80070005 when checking for updates

I was getting updated with no problems on a clean install of Windows 7 Pro x 86.  After I installed MS Office 2007 Pro and other software.  I clicked on search for updates and I get the red box error "windows can not find the new updates" error found Code 80070005 I am logged in as a user with Admin Access.  I disabled Norton AntiVirus...    When I click view update history, it is empty, even though I've updated several times.

    Hi Willaton,

The 80070005 error means usually you do not have permission appropriate to run the update.

You could disable your anti-virue and malware/spyware protection temporarily to see if they are in conflict with the update installation program.

If this does not work, I suggest you log in to the account administrators integrated and update from there. To connect to the administrator account

    1. Click Start, right click on computer, then click on manage.

    2. expand local users and groups, and then click the users folder.

    3. right click on the connection of the administrator, and then click Properties, then remove that checking the account is disabled.

You can now restart the computer and log on to the administrator account and try the update again.

    Hope this information is useful.
