  I am running Windows XP Professional.  I had a few problems with this computer, and this is one that I rarely use.  Her husband used to surf with.  I came across a software today I tried to load on that gave me the message that it had installed SP3.  She was never installed on this machine.  Then I tried to install most of the afternoon and it will not be installed.  I can't follow the troubleshooting because the only way I can open popup windows as this one is in the browser firefox and not Internet Explorer and you cannot run process in firefox (duh).

  Three years ago, I bought a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop. Never met a problem until I tried to install Windows Vista Service Pack 2.   AFAIK you can't install any driver before the installation process is complete and the OS starts. There are just standard divers from Microsoft installed. I really don know why it freezes, but if there is any attempt of the possibility of installing Win that include SP1. If you find something interesting, please let me know.
