Update graphics card on Pavillion dv7 Notebook

Hello

I was wondering if I can not update my graphics card on my HP Pavilion dv7.

-removed-

Also, if I can improve, should I use a specific map to fit the laptop?

Let me know if you need any additional information.

Thank you.

Hello

Please don't not poast private information about any forum. Basically, you can, with a cost, and I think that this cost can be more expensive than buying a new computer because you have to take into account:

  • New price of the card, and WHERE you can buy it because the laptop cards are not the same office maps. You can't buy any normal store,
  • Need new card system (can be),
  • Need new system of cooling because in general more powerful card pumps out more heat (you want more powerful card don't you?).
  • May need new power supply because your current diet is not suitbale for the card. (I ordered a machine with the Nvidia card and I need to order a 90W charger at the same time, not the normal charger 65W. They rejected just my order.)
  • Cost of the work.
  • Packages a lot, a lot of aspirin.

I hope this helps.

  • Equium P300-16 t and update graphic card

    Hi all.

I was thinking about upgrading my graphics on the computer laptop satellite P300-16 t. I have not opened yet so my question is, has anyone here opened this machine? If so, is there a way to install a dedicated graphics card? i.e. the pcie? Could someone please advise if there are institutions in the machine to upgrade my graphics?

My gratitude in advance for any help.

In General, update graphics card is not supported and cannot be done.
Toshiba has written about it in http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

A common problem with portable mobile is the heat and to built the effective cooling system. Each laptop has optimized cooling system. More powerful graphics card will produce more heat, and this balanced hardware platform will not properly work. Can result in permanent damage from overheating or material.

Maybe stupid comment now, but if you need more powerful your laptop sell on eBay and buy a new one.

  • Power supply with updated graphics card update

I am considering buying the HPE-150 t with an improved graphics card standard:

1 GB ATI Radeon HD 5770 [2 DVI, HDMI, DP, VGA adapter]

I went on http://support.asus.com/PowerSupplyCalculator/PSCalculator.aspx?SLanguage=en-us to the appropriate power needed for this gauge system, and it recommends a minimum 450 Watt power supply.

If I ended up buying the HPE-150 t with updated graphics card, I get a power supply improved to compensate for the increase of energy consumption?

Here are the specs of your motherboard.  It indicates a 350 Watt PSU.  However, if you scroll down to hardware options, you will see a 460 watt power supply associated with the 5770 video card.

  • HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab06: updating graphics card?

Hi, I'm practiacally again the hardware upgrade on computers.

I just had a question about how to upgrade the graphics card.

Currently, I have an AMD of A10 image (1.8 to 3.2 GHz) processor with Radeon graphic card and shared memory.

I bought this computer in the hope that I could add a Nvidia Geforce to help with my games and 3d modeling/design.

But recently, I came across another post here with basically the same problem, except that the client had an i3 with graphics card intel shared.  He had the same question as me, but I was told that there is nothing that could be done, because the graphics were integrated into the CPU. I'm almost posotive that it's the same for me. Is it possible, however, to do this disable in the BIOS and add material? Heck, I don't know yet has baseboard to a slot for it, or if the case can fit the card.

Please, I would like to know if it's even worth my time, or if I should just put up with what I have.

    Thanks in advance,

    -Ryan

Your thought is correct. The video is part of the processor in your AMD A10. It is called a "APU" because it contains the processor and the video. You have the APU albums available for your model, so there is no possible upgrade. And you also have reason to question where you can even put a kind of video card. There is no slot on the motherboard and no place in the chassis for such a thing, even if it was of a 'thing' that is not. Stick with what you have.

  • Update graphics card for particular game

Hi, I want to play the Sims 3 on the highest settings (all settings the most) and I wanted to know what graphics card it would play flawless. I have a HP Pavilion dv7-4190US, 6 GB RAM, win7 HP 64 bit, 1 TB HDD, i7 Q720 @ 1.60 GHz turbo boost 2.8 GHz and ATI mobility radeon HD 5650 graphics card. I wanted to update for a while now and want one that will manage this game to its fullest.

    Hello

    1. actually you can upgrade the video card on some laptops if you wish, please read these:

    http://www.PCWorld.com/article/148909/upgrading_your_laptops_graphics_card.html

    http://www.notebookcheck.NET/Upgrade-replace-a-notebook-video-card.3236.0.html

But it is an expensive and risky exercise. Why not spend more to buy a portable game correct. How much are you willing to spend? With about US $2,000, you can buy very good mobile games.

    2. for the CPU, we can improve ourselves given the new CPU is in the same family.

    Kind regards

  • Qosmio G40 - update graphics card

    Hello world

I know it works has already answered in October 2009, but I have a few not 100% course info on the upgrade of the graphics cards. Now I have a qosmio g40-10 with nvidia geforce 8600 with 512 video memory. Because this card is purely not enough for the high-end gaming today, I want to update at least 1 GB of video memory. Like many people here, I tried to find some information online but its just waste of time. I asked in each PC store in my town this topic and 60% of them responded that it is possible, but it will cost you so.

They could not tell exactly witch card should take but logically it will be nvidia series that were used by Toshiba manufacter, what I'll do I will find some young model of Toshiba nvidia cards and will just try to adapt it. Logically that laptops Toshiba chassy is almost the same, of course mounting screws can be different, but ultimately, it's a project. The only problem is the motherboard, I heard that this motherboard is unable to accept certain graphics cards.

If you have some info on this please let me know.
Also different (highest card) coz, there will be cooling problem so if you have ideas to solve heating, please share it with me.
    Thanks much adrian

    Hello Adrian

I guess that you know very well that the possibilities of upgrade on mobile units are very limited; especially GPU or CPU upgrade and laptop manufacturers offer don t any kind of support. Because of the design specific common problem for mobile units is cooling system. More performance means more heat and more heat, compromised of portable computer hardware switch or damage.

Manufacturers of portable don t support cela and don offers t any helpful info about it. GPU upgrade in my opinion is not a good idea. OK, you can do with your laptop that you want and play a little bit, but I'm afraid that your project is too risky and will not end with success of m.

If you need a more powerful computer I think it's time for the new portable computer with more powerful hardware. What you think so.

  • Satellite Pro P300 - update graphic card and CPU

I have a Satellite Pro P300 and I was wondering if the CPU or the graphics card can be improved?

I really like my laptop, but an upgrade is imminent and before I take the plunge I just want to see if it is all options other than a new laptop.

    Hello

Processor and graphics card update is not supported and there is no list with compatible processors. If everything is on your own risk. In the worst case a new processor will not be recognized from the motherboard or BIOS, probably you need a new module of cooling too so I wouldn t this

In addition, the graphics card is attached to the motherboard and cannot be exchanged.

  • Possible update graphics card on Equium A210

    Hello
    Once again
I was wondering if it was possible to update the graphics card in the Equium A210 for a better graphics card or how to make the most frankly graphics when you play online are shocking and the man in the shop lie seems to me :(

Sorry mate, but there is no possibility to upgrade the graphics card built into your machine, as the graphics card is "wired", which means that the integrated graphics chip is soldered on the motherboard.

So, you could upgrade RAM HDD & to increase performance, but who are the only options to get more performance out of your machine.

    Welcome them

  • Update graphics card SP6100

    Hey there,

I have a Satellite Pro 6100 and I'm VERY happy with it, I for two years now and it's always one of the fastest on the market and he got all the necessary devices as well.
The only problem is that I just 16 MB on my GeForce 420 Go graphics card. I can't play the latest version of a racing game that I'm a bit addicted to it.
So, I'm looking for an update to my graphics card. I know that there are 440 GB maps as well with 32 MB on board.
Can anyone advise me on what to do? Is there a GFX card which adapts instead of 420 go I have atm? I'll be able to add for example 16 MB to 420 go? (probably n00b question)

Any help would be really appreciated!

    Thanks in advance,

    René

    Hey there,

Due to the high level of integration of the different components of a laptop and their interactions tested with another toshiba doesn't offer any update for CPU card and motherboard and vga.

    Sorry :(

  • Update graphics card for my HP Pavilion p7-1534

I almost had my PC for a year now. I am looking for a good gfx card update that will allow me to run some high senior graphic games smoothly on graphics settings. Battlefield, ArmA, GTA are examples of games... Games like this. I know that I will also need to upgrade the power supply with the new card. If you could show me a few good cards and supplys power which would best adapt to what I'm looking for. Thank you.

P.S. Try to stay as close as possible to $400. I'm not trying to spend too much more than that.

    Hello

Feeding Corair CX500, or CX600 will best fit inside your PC and will have enough power for most video cards.

I run BF3 using a NVIDIA EVGA GTX 660 upstairs to the Ultra no problems at 1920 by 1080 resolution. In addition, if you want your PC to run in UEFI mode you can get an EVGA patch to enable this feature.

  • Compaq Presario SG2025IL: updating graphics card

I have a Compaq Presario SR2025IL, which was used a computer to type. Now, he was bequeathed to me and I want to update its graphics to make a gaming computer. Any suggestions for a graphics card?

Thank you for the additional information and the link with your computer's specifications, @NeelCool.

Before making any recommendations, I want you to know that your computer is not simply cabable of being a machine good game.  The most important thing against the fact that the maximum memory is only 2 GB, DDR.  It is simply not enough to work with recent intensive video games.  In addition, the only expansion slots are PCI and AGP.  They are very slow.  I'd rather see you save money and buy a newer computer when you can afford it.

Please click on the button + Thumbs up if I helped you and click on accept as Solution If your problem is resolved.

  • Update graphics card on HP Pavilion PC h8-1214

Can someone suggest a good upgrade for the video graphics card on my son's computer?  It's a HP Pavilion HPE h8-1214 desktop PC.  It is an age of high school gamer so I'm looking for something in the sub series $400 (or even less if possible).  I don't know if he really needs an upgrade, but when he bought the computer, the former owner told him that he should update the graphics card in about a year.  I think he still has the card that came with the computer. a graphics card Radeon HD 7450 with 1 GB of DDR3 memory dedicated.  I guess I also need to check and see if she still only a 300W power supply or if the previous owner has replaced that.  Site HP says that there must be a PCI Express x 16.

    Hello

A video card the fastest for the games will require at least a 500 Watt power supply.  The Corsair CX500, or CX600 would fit well in the H8-1214.  As for a video card, NVIDIA GTX 660 (double wide card) should be enough for most modern video games.

  • Update graphics card on Satellite A200

Is it possible to change the graphics card on the Satellite A200 and if its possible how he and witch card to use?

I agree with the statement made by the above user.
The point is that the laptops card mother layout is completely different and the slots are not the same as on the PC desktop motherboards.
The GPU chip is mainly fixed and soldered on the motherboard and cannot be removed on simply average.

There are also a few other reasons for which the graphics card can not be updated but I n t want to write a full A4 page now.
You know. The point is; It s is not possible.
