  I considered just take a chance and update the iphone software app 'Settings' of the phone with the ability to do a "restore" via iTunes on the laptop if I ran into problems. Then, however, I found that the button "backup restore" in iTunes was "greyed out" and not "clickable".

  Since I've updated my Itunes to 12.4.3.1 all my playlists are gone and I can't find them anywhere. They have literally been deleted and I don't know how or why because it happened all of a sudden as soon as I updated.
