Update SQL Server Oracle Table

Hello

I have a doubt, Im working with a database in oracle 10g and found a trouble trying to update a SQL Server database with a BPM system that retrieve data from the Oracle database... my question is...

How can I update the SQL database every 8 hours with the new information inserted into the Oracle database... I tried using OpenQuery but shows the AMT ORA-12514: listener

I'll apreciate any help

ORA-12514 is one of the most common misconfiguration problems reported on the web. Go to google and you will find 33 800 hits. Thousands of containing the solution to your problem.

Troubleshooting and the solution is also written on a large number of times on metalink.

But I have to say to transfer data from Oracle to SQL Server makes no sense. You already have a copy of data in a location secured with the data integrity guaranteed. Instead of move... buy a report generator and work with it in place.

    I try with model db (DB empty, just a single table), but the error is same. However, if I try to copy the acronym tabele from SQL Server to Oracle it works fine...

    I guess it's something with the configuration, but beacause I am new in Oracle still have no idea...

    Any help would be much appreciated

    I thank in advance

    Stefan

    Hello Stefan,

    did you create the repository Migration of your database to Oracle (Tools-> Migration-> repository management)?

    The SS2K5ALLPLATFORM package is usually created when you add the migration of the Oracle database repository and it contains the function StageCapture.

    So please make sure that you have created a repository of migration in an Oracle database and associate it with the first step of your migration.

  • SQL Server Oracle Migration: semantics of the column

    I'm testing a migration to SQL Server 2012 to Oracle 12 c using SQL Developer 4.0.0.13 migration Assistant. The problem that I am facing is that all the generated table creation scripts have CHARACTER semantics for character columns. I wish that the semantic bytes. As the generated tables and columns are several thousand it is not possible to manually change the semantics.

    CREATE TABLE account_dod)

    account_ID VARCHAR2 (16 CHAR) NOT NULL,

    I can't find any possibility to change the semantics when generating. Anyone know of any option that I can set so that the migration wizard will generate all of the columns in the form of BYTES?

    Thank you very much

    If you email me, I can provide an extension changed to use unity BYTE CHAR and VARCHAR2 columns.

  • Metadata from MS SQL to Oracle table

    Hi gurus!

    Is it possible using ODI create a table target on Oracle using metadata from MS SQL?
    I can reverse-engineer for MS SQL table and put it as a source in the interface and ODI will use this information and create the table on Oracle workflow.

    Create the target table as an array of streams to 1:1 with the Oracle data types?

    Thanks in advance!

    You mean that target tables are also Oracle.
    Yes, this can be done. In integration KM (IKM), there is a CREATE_TARG_TABLE option. You can set this Yes. And your target table will be created from the data model if it does not exist.

    Following steps should be useful:
    1.) reverse schema SQL Server in a model.
    2.) duplicate this model and changes in Oracle technology. (This will map the data types of MSSQL to Oracle)
    3.) use the Oracle based model/data store like target and use any IKM who has the CREATE_TARG_TABLE option.

  • equivalent of CLRSplitSting function for sql server Oracle

    Hello friends,

    I have a query in SQL Server - which becomes data.

    Select addl_info_id, sort_seq, code, row_data, addl_info_group_id, group_sort_seq, group_row_data from dbo. CLRSplitString('2406081,2410381,2427008,2430449,2466981,2495083,1586420,2406081,2410381,2427008,2430449,2466981,2495083,1586420','',',') x v join ein_addl_info_v on x.col1 = v.addl_info_id order by sort_seq
    We have same data in oracle too, so I converted the query above to sql to ORACLE like this server...

    Select regexp_substr(str,'[^,]+',1,level) sub_str *) t connect by level < = regexp_count (str, ',') + 1) x *.

    Join cnh_cs_targ_csce_eur_1.ein_addl_info_v v x.sub_str = v.addl_info_id order of sort_seq

    but I don't get all the data. Can someone check if the query oracle above is equivalent to the above SQL query.

    Thank you/Kumar

    You always seem to be missing the semicolon (;) in the end of your CURSOR, as Aman has pointed out in his last message.

    CURSOR TempInsert IS
      SELECT ikeyid, iprofileid,iquestionid,vquestionans,cstatusindi,dmodifyon,imodifyby,iyear
        FROM profilebasicdetail
       WHERE isubprofileid=723 and itranno=58*;*

    (Note that the * are simply to point out where the change needs to be done.) You don't want those in your actual code)

  • How only migrate data between SQL Server 2008 Oracle 11?

    According to our requirement, we only have to migrate data from a SQL Server database to an existence
    Oracle database user.
    (1) I tried to do with the wizard of Migration SQL Developer 3.0.04, but find a problem.
    My SQL Server database name is SCDS41P2 and my Oracle database user name is CDS41P2;
    When I used SQL Developer move offline data by the Migration Wizard, I found all the oracle user
    name in movedata files who obtained by running the Migration Wizard
    is dbo_SCDS41P2. If the Oracle user name is not the same as my Oracle username existed.
    the data cannot be moved to my user Oracle existed when I run oracle_ctl.bat in the command line window.
    So I had to change the Oracle username in all the movedata files, but it is difficult to change because there are a lot of tables in
    databases. So could you please tell me how to get the movedata files which is the name of user oracle in them my
    WHEREAS Oracle user name?

    (2) I also tried to use the "copy to Oracle" to copy the data to SQL Server database tables
    the user database was Oracle. When you click on 'copy to Oracle', I selected the option 'Include data' and 'replace '.
    But I found some tables cannot be copied, the error info is as below:

    Could you please tell me how to deal with this kind of mistake?

    2. go in SQL * Developer and remove the converted model.
    3. click on the captured model and choose 'convert '.
    4. click Next and you should get a screen with 2 options - "Data Type Mapping" and "Object Naming.
    5. choose "Object Naming" and scroll down the list until you see the name of the user who will be transformed. For example, in my test, I got the names scott_test and dbo_test - where the owners are 'scott' and 'dba' and 'test' was the name of the database.
    6. change the name of oner_database to just owner - scott_test to scott
    7 complete the conversion process and the owners must be created without the name of the database.
    8. you should now be able to generate the SQL * scripts of charger with only the name of the owner in the CTL files.

    Please try this and let us know if it works for you.

    Kind regards
    Mike

  • Loading data to SQL server for the Oracle database

    I want to create a table in oracle db table in sql server. Table is huge that he has obtained the documents 97,456,789.
    I created the link (HS) db in the oracle database that points to the sql server. I choose this oracle db on the link table.

    Select * from 'dbo '. "T1@dblink;

    I shot below to create the table.
    create table t2 nologging parallel (degree = 3) as select * from 'dbo '. "T1@dblink;
    and its taking a long time... but its operation...

    is there any other method to do this and and fill the table in oracle db faster.

    Please notify. Thank you.

    I doubt that parallel processing will be used because it is unique to Oracle (using rowid varies in general) and not SQL-Server.

    is there any other method to do this and and fill the table in oracle db faster.

    Part of the performance overhead is to pull that data from SQL Server to Oracle in the whole of the liaison network between them. This can be accelerated by compressing the data first - and who then transfer them over the network.

    For example: using + bcp + to export the data in the SQL Server box to a CSV file, compress/zip file, scp/sftp file Oracle and then to unzip there. In parallel and direct treatment of load can now be done using SQL * Loader to load the CSV file into Oracle.

    If it is a basic Linux/Unix system, the process of decompression/unzip can be run in parallel with the SQL * process Loader by creating a pipe between the two – where the decompression process writes data uncompressed in the pipe and SQL * Loader reads and loads the data that is available through the pipe.

    Otherwise you are PQ own transformation. Assume that the data is date varies. You can create a procedure on Oracle that looks like this:
    {code}
    create or replace procedure as copyday (day) is
    Start
    Insert / * + append * / into local_tab select * from remote_tab@remotedb where col_day = day;
    -Add logging info, validation, etc.
    end;
    {code}

    You can now start 10 or more of these different days and run it in the background using DBMS_JOB.

  • Error in SQL Server 2008 R2 update: WindowsUpdate_84b20001

    I get this error message when you try to update SQL Server 2008 R2 update error: WindowsUpdate_84b20001.

    I have a suggestion for the knowledge base to rename the file %systemroot%\System32\Spupdsvc.exe in Spupdsvc.old, but the file does not exist in the first place. It's actually a fix for the problem 84b2000B, and my problem is code b 84, 20001.

    I also tried with FixIt but it meets av problem and cannot continue. No message about it though.

    When searching for the community I have fnd no obvious solution. I had this problem since September 2011 and the daily update fails every day since then. I have about 2 GB of free space (total Congress GB 139) on the HDD, 4 GB of RAM and is running Windows Vista on a laptop HP Compaq 6715 b (old since I bought this as a new computer at my retailer in December 2007). I use AVAST anivirus but he seems to have nothing to do with the problem of to. I also have drivers and firmware for hardware updated latest version a week ago but nothing seems to help.

    I also have problem installing SQL server Express. And cannot install Visual Studio 2010 Pro SP1 probably as a couse direct of this installation failure.

    Suggestions how proceed in diagnosing this problem help no doubt at some level. I'm completely stuck now.

    If you post in the forums of Microsoft SQL Server, you will get most help for this issue.  Thank you.
