Update Vista Microsoft error number: 0x8DDD0002

I am unable to do the update of windows on my windows vista computer. Now to clarify things, I can access and complete Windows Update in my Start menu but when I try to access it through my internet explore I get the error error number: 0x8DDD0002

To install the updates from this site, you must be logged in as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group on your computer. If you use Windows XP, you can see if you are an administrator by clicking on user accounts in Control Panel.

Note: If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may also prevent you using this website. Contact your system administrator with the updates.

May I ask why you try to access the Windows Updates Web site?

Updates to Vista access via Control Panel / start menu on your computer not via the website.

  1. Open Windows Update by clicking on the button start , clicking all programs, and then click Windows Update.

  2. In the left pane, click search for updates, and then wait while Windows searches the latest updates for your computer.

  3. If updates are found, click install updates. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Most of the time, it restarts itself during the update process.

    Hi wine,

If you can get a full version of disc Vista, you can read the following article and try to perform a repair starter or the system restore.

What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?

If you still experience the problem, try a Checkdsk to repair problems related to bad sectors, lost clusters, reticulate files and directory errors.

    a. Insert the installation disc.

    b. restart your computer.

    c. click on the Start button, click the arrow next to the lock buttonand then click restart. If you are prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.

Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings.

    d. choose your language settings, and then click Next.

    e. in the System Recovery Options menu, click on command prompt.

    f. at a command prompt, type the following command and press on ENTER.

    chkdsk /f /r X: ( drive letter)

    g. press y when you are prompted to check the drive the next time the system restarts.

    h. restart the computer.

Important: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.
