I can open a pdf file and then click on the envelope to send by e-mail, and it brings up a side panel.   You are most likely in a problem with Win7 email client number. I'm not sure about AAX, but for older versions, the e-mail was through the interface MAPI Ms. Most of the time you simply make sure that your default e-mail client is specified in the default Windows programs. For some clients, you must enable their ability to use MAPI.

  Not sure if this will help, but it is typically a Windows problem to solve because of the way Acrobat trys to interact with mail.
