updated to v2.0.4 - drop in performance...

I always serve Fusion for about a year--on the same system. No significant problems. My needs are very simple - I run a PC of Quicken version. That is - that - jump on, make my deal, down. I don't spend much time with her and I'm not an expert with merger or Windows.

I've recently upgraded to v2.0.4. First thing I noticed is that my Mac fan runs more (no applications running on the Mac side). I guess that means that the processor is working more hard. It's not hot in the room where I work - so this isn't a problem. Then, while in Quicken, if I opened a dialog box and drag it around, it moves more slowly than it has in the past.

I'm assuming that something has happened with v2.0.4 which has an impact on the performance of my Mac. Comments?

MacBook 2.2

OS X 10.5.6

RAM: 4 GB

Fusion: 2.0.4

Windows XP version 5.1 (what horrible POS)

Quicken Home & Business 2009 R5 (another point of sale - see what happens when someone has a near-monopoly!)

Performance issues with Fusion Fusion 1.x vs 2.x have been covered in detail in this forum and a search of the forum should give information without him having to be repeated.

My suggestion would be, since you only use Windows in a limited capacity, go back using Fusion 1.x however if you don't back up the Virtual Machine before the upgrade, you should have, and that you have upgrade virtual hardware make sure to select Downgrade Virtual Machine in the Virtual Machine menu before uninstalling VMware Fusion 2.x and 1.x Fusion facility.

    It will help in cases where the applications require more than 4 GB of RAM.  Otherwise, there will be no noticeable difference.  If you really want to increase the speed, an SSD is the best option.  They cost about 3 x's + more than a traditional HDD of same capacity...

  • Can I update several forms with the drop-even at the same time

    I have 20 + forms that have a menu drop-down together.  Each shape has between 1 and 15 cases of this drop-down list.  The values in the drop-down list are updated on a frequent basis.

    Currently I have an identical JavaScript Document named "UpdateDropdowns" in each shape.

    There are more than 30 choices in my current iteration of unelistede var, but for brevity, I have listed only the 3 examples to illustrate my JavaScript.

    Currently when I update the drop-down list, I followed these steps

    1. Open form
    2. Open the Document UpdateDropdowns JavaScript
    3. Add the additional values
    4. Select and copy the var aList update
    5. Close the JavaScript Document
    6. Update the form in the Console log
    7. Repeat for all forms (collage in the new aList var to ensure compliance)

    Is it possible to update all my forms at the same time without having to go through this process of form with form?

    Well done, you must create a new Action (under Tools - Wizard of the Action), add to that a command run JavaScript with your code (no need to function definition, just the code itself), and then add a Save command, and then run it on your files and finished...

  • DROP TABLE performance

    could someone share advice on improving the execution time of the abandonment of the tables?

    I have a blank table with more than 200 columns and it takes 23-25 s to drop. Smaller tables take something around 0.1 s of course. Problem is I have let fall from thousands of these tables and then re-create them. The recreate itself takes not more than one second.

    What is the origin of more time? Is it because of an implicit validation in the drop table command?

    I tried this with almost identical times noarchivelog mode. I also tried different settings and commit_logging optimizer_mode, none showed any usable results, but I'm still at the experimental stage. The goal is to minimize the execution time once I need to run the entire batch, perhaps in the course of running several sessions can work to be faster (while times are maybe longer), don't know yet.

    Translates into a decline of almost immediate table, why is this? Does this mean that the longest execution time has been only because the table has been preserved in the trash?

    If correctly, I assume you're on Peoplesoft, you should try turn off the recyclebin before running the script generated by the application Designer, or purge the first recyclebin which could be huge because of the mechanism of migration of Peoplesoft.
    Or probably better, in the configuration settings, tab "Alter", check "Alter in place" instead of "Alter by changing the Table name". "." The first will modify the table, to create a temporary table (fill in the former), drop the old, then rename the temporary table.

    And don't forget to add crazy missing "when sqlerror exit" at the beginning of the script, otherwise you could have a very sad surprise.

  • Updated since E3200 to a WRT1900AC - connectivity/performance issues

    I used pretty well parameters by default when I swapped the routers.  DHCP is enabled but the router itself is on intellectual property 10.61.181.11 and all my devices are 10.61.181.100 - 199.  I'm not Mac address filtering.  Both 5 & 2.4 Ghz are mixed personal mode with auto-width of the channel.  The networks have the same name, except the 5 GHz has added name _5GHz and the password are now the same.

    I have a wireless module iFit connected to the E3200 without a problem.  However, I can't establish a connection with the WRT1900AC anything.  I tried to set up automatically as well as manually.  The requirements are 80211.b, active and no DHCP which I believe that I have mac address filtering.  Any suggestions on that may affect this settings on the router?  Networks should be named more differently that just the _5GHz?  If they have different passwords?  The IP addresses must be in a different range (192.168...)?

    I also agree that there are moments where things slow to a crawl and I can not access my router of the web tool.

    Any suggestions on the development of this would be greatly appreciated.

    Try WPA or WPA2 modes personally only a test. No mixed modes.

  • Massive performance drop - is this a joke?

    Despite a few flaws miners and unconcistencies between applications in creative cloud (such as different for the same actions shortcuts), I was happy with the applications that Adobe has to offer. CC 2015 struck as June, when there was a lot of improvement and you may notice that some applications, like photoshop has become a bit slower. But some time ago I changed the langauge settings and omitted a few updates, but when reinstalled boat (using indesign, photoshop and illustrator), I was shocked by the drop in performance. I tested it on multiple devices. Photoshop and Illustrator just happened to pop gel time when working with dynamic objects, especially when importing between applications.

    I don't understand how this widely used app can be updated with a huge problem. Do you plan on fixing performance? The majority of the funcionality has not changed in the most recent updates, yet has performance.

    Thank you for your message.  To clarify, is the performance of your computer when you install/download updates Windows or after you have started for the first time trolling, because updates have taken effect?  If this is the case, the reasons could be:
    1. in the download, you'll be using your internet connection, which will slow down your bandwidth as well as the use of processing power to perform the update.  A little dip lag or performance would not be out of the question here.
    2 when you install updates, the processor will work to install the necessary files that have been downloaded on your computer which may cause a dip in performance.
    3. When you start your computer for the first time after an update, you may experience a longer period of logon, because the computer to initialize all the updates that you have just downloaded and installed.
    If you encounter a performance problem, every time that you start your computer, you may need to make some changes that will allow your computer to work optimally.

  • Performance problems since the update of 2015.6

    Hello together,

    Since I updated lightroom yesterday to version 2015.6 the performance on my machine is incredible bad.

    My system:

    -MacBook Pro (retina, mid-2012)

    -2.3 GHz Intel Core i7

    -16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

    -NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024Mo

    -OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

    Lightroom synchronizes actually 1400 photos, but even if I stop this process, LR uses CPU so I can't work in other programs like Photoshop (updated yesterday, too). I detected this performance problem as PS freezes when I used the Healing Brush tool.

    I don't know what's happening LR, but is not ideal for my workflow.

    Does anyone have an idea?

    If I close LR I can work in PS, even though the Healing Brush tool is slower than in the version before. But I can't always close and open LR.

  • Menu bar 'View' drop-down menus do not work except option 'character encoding '.

    For past several updates I asked problems with drop-down menus. 'See' on the Menu bar is an exzmple. Pnly 'Character encoding' option works correctly. Similar problem occurs in many other places including LastPass extension which I use a lot.

    An empty menu appears right without entries. But the problem is not consistent.

    Heals the problem to the menu bar of FF and other questions of FF from FF in safe mode. But I can't find which plugin or extension is causing the problem.

    Hello makatikid, try Disabling graphics hardware acceleration and check again.

    You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    Then perform the following steps:

    1. Open the Firefox Options window as follows:

      • Click the menu button

        and select Options

    2. In the Options of Firefox window, click the Advanced tab, and then select general.
    3. You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
    4. Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

    In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

    In firefox safe mode, hardware acceleration is disable.

  • Satellite A200/W00 - abandoned game performance

    I have a laptop Toshiba A200/W00.
    It has 32 bit Vista Home Premium installed on it, a 2.2 gHz Core 2 Duo processor, 2 GB of RAM and an index of performance of 4.7.
    It has two hard drives of 160 GB in it.

    Several months ago I had problems with my laptop which made me resort to having to run my recovery disks to bring the laptop to default values. This bothers me not at all, as everything I had on it was recoverable.

    This recovery wiped only my HDD 'hand', leaving the other completely intact and works perfectly, all this that was on it was always there, etc.

    After I had reinstalled, updated my laptop completely (running DirectX 10 as opposed to the 11 that I had before), there has been a noticeable drop in performance in my games.

    The games that I could run easily before no longer work. I used to be able to play Assassin Creed on parameters almost at the maximum and play Unreal Tournament 3 on smaller settings without a single problem. But trying to play these games now, they usually freeze and crash when I try to play them. An other ways I noticed a drop in performance was in the Warcraft 3 game with friends, playing DotA.

    My laptop used to load at the same exact time as laptop from my friend and now mine takes about twice as long as it used to load up. And to add on top of that: I bought a laptop a few years older than mine as my Toshiba loaded faster early last year.

    If someone would get to know what may have reduced the performance of my laptop and can help me, I would be very grateful. Thank you.

    In many cases a slow game performance is caused by a wrong or old graphics driver.
    So is that you have updated your graphics driver? You can find it on the Toshiba site.

    In addition, you must install the latest version of DirectX.
    Visit the Microsoft Web site to download and make sure you have Service Pack 1 installed.

  • drop-down list

    My dropdown is not displayed as it should, the "firefox updated" solves the problem, but after a start of my PC or you restart FF, the problem comes back. I give a print screen with 4 photos 2 everything first on top is FF when the drop-down list does not, the other 2 of the edge and how it should be displayed.

    I also tried to uncheck "use hardware acceleration when available" and restart the browser, but is not help me either.

    Is this your site? What follows is not something webmasters can solve, unfortunately:

    Are you using e10s?

    You can check if you have this feature enabled as follows. Either:

    • button '3-bar' menu > '? ' button > Troubleshooting Information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

    In the first table on the page, find the line "Multiprocess Windows" and see if the number on the left side of the fraction is greater than zero. If so, you are using e10s.

    With active e10s, 'options' that appear in the dropdown under control of selection can be made by using a default font instead of the one given by the page. However, I have not seen enough examples to know the model of the font is used.

    If you use e10s:

    To determine if this feature is causing this problem, you can turn off as follows:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press enter/return. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste the cars and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 to switch the value from true to false

    Note: the exact name of this preference may vary, but it will start by browser.tabs.remote.autostart

    On your next startup of Firefox, it must be run in the traditional way. Any difference?

    What I think is happening:

    When you install or after updating Firefox, it traditionally starts and then performs a check to see if it can use the new functionality of e10s from the next start-up. That's why you see change when you see it.

  • Performance problems with large Photo library size

    Did anyone seen performance issues when the library becomes too great? I used to keep a few different libraries, since some of my libraries are already 1 TB. So, if I merge into one, the file will be 2-3 Tb when it's said and done. Anyone know if it is recommended to size limits or is it more important with El Capitan. Obviously, the response time will be affected by the hard drive and the speed of the laptop, but before you begin merging into one file libraries, I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions/recommendations or other related advice. Thank you!

    It is not documented, but how many pictures a library can contain pictures, you can migrate photos iPhoto libraries and libraries Aperture, so you should be able to store at least 1 000 000 photos in a photo library.

    I haven't noticed any performance issue with a large library of Photos.  My largest library has 40000 photos.

    During the regular work with the size of the library is not serious at all, as long as you want to keep enough free storage on your system drive. Don't let the photo library fill in your system drive. Keep at least 10 GB free at all times, better more.

    However, there are rare occasions when the size will be discussed:

    • When you need repair library, it will take more time, if the library is large.
    • When you first migrate your libraries of photos, the initial treatment will take longer - scanning for faces and places, creating thumbnails.
    • If you use iCloud library synchronization can take a long time for a large library.
    • Too many smart albums can make pictures a little slower, if the library is large.  I noticed a drop in performance, after that I created 200 smart albums with a search for text across the entire library.

    Yes, it is more than great, but I only use it to get online while on vacation, so it is fine. Or it was. I get more and more problem, visit websites with my obsolete Webbrowsers and I can not get more recent OSX 10.5.8. So, I was thinking to update my OSX.

    First thing I discovered was: I can't. Not without going through Snow Leopard installed - which is no longer sold.

    So my questions:

    -How can I update?

    -To which the BONES would make sense with the specifications of my MBP?
