I also tried to download the file and install directly, but notifications keep coming. no error messages were received during the installation procedures. the relevant update is update of security for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008 x 86 (KB2656351). a search of Add/Remove Programs shows that the update has been installed.

  You try to install KB2618444? They make 3. For IE6, IE7, and IE8. You probably download one from a different version of Internet Explorer you have...
  I'm going to guess you really want that for IE8.

• Why does my automatic update install same update several times?

  In Windows Vista, my automatic updates are set for 03:00 every day.  It updates on its own.  Update icon tells me new updates are available.  After you have downloaded and installed, I check the download history to find same status update (KBxxxxxxx) # "successful" several times.  I don't think it will hurt.  But, can it be fixed?

  (1) updates (for example the download/install MRT and updates of Windows Defender) appear to download and install a certain number of times.

  Let us know if you get the error messages from the updates.  If you open Windows Update, and then click "View update history", and then click twice on an update failed, this will give you the error code.  Post back with this error so that we can better help you.

  Start with these troubleshooting steps and post returns with the requested info and arises from the troubleshooting.

  Clean boot your PC, and then run Windows Update.

• Vista home premium service pack 1 updates several times offered

  original title: need help with service pack for vista family premium 1 update, it seems to be but always returns to the update thing to install it.

  I have windows vista Home premium and I tried to install SP1 several times.  Finally made the cat for help and now I did everything they said to do.  BUT I always get the message to install SP1.  I have install and don't get no error message and infact a message saying installed successfully, but it is still in the list of things to install.  What is going on?  Thank you very much.

  Support for Vista Gold (no Service Pack) ended more than one year (that is, April 13, 2010) and support for Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) will end 4 weeks from today (i.e., Tuesday, July 12, 2011).

  If you have not SP1 is installed now, chances are you will never install it unless & until you doing a clean install of Windows.
