Updates - stuck Win 7

Hi all

I bought several new computers in the last two weeks and I have a problem with the verification of updates.

Once I turn on the computer and put my user and PW in French - I delete the desktop versions are delivered as standard then I the

Updates to Windows before doing anything else.   From last week checking the updates took days.  For now, I have

two computers that have been on the VERIFICATION of UPDATES for 2 DAYS.   This is a new program that began last week, so about 08/08/16.

I bought several of these same types of Dell laptops and never had this problem.  All updates made might take a day, but not DAYS.   I have new users who are unable to work because I can't get the deployed computers.  Help!

Thank you

Karen

Fix tetraethyle3, but I would advise Windows Update service be stopped and a reboot occur in addition to the definition of never.

Many of us have worked on a better set of instructions.  I'll include it here. Feedback is more than welcome...

August 18, 2016

Windows Update has become very problematic for users of Windows 7.  During the past year, we have worked to find a solution that works for you.  We found one that works very well for most.  We know that for some it works well for August 2016 until 2 September Tuesday, known as Patch Tuesday.

We hope to update for September.

We emphasize that, to do this, you must follow exactly as described.

There are two main types of installations of Windows 7: 32-bit or 64-bit.  You know what is installed on your computer.  Click on the globe start, type in the box system. Choose system information in the list.  The abbreviation for technology for 32-bit is x 86 and 64-bit x 64

1. start Windows Update and change the setting for never to find updates. We recommend that you only keep this setting.  Then Windows Update will be automatic.  From there, you are responsible for departure and the installation of updates.  We recommend to you a few days after the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

2. the process begins by ensuring that there is nothing running that will prevent the update to work correctly.  Click on the globe to start and type services in the text box.  Click Services in the list that appears.  In the window that appears then (its alphabetical), find Windows Update.  Right click on it (left click if your mouse is set for left-handed people), and then choose stop.

3. restart your computer.

4. you will now download and install manually updates one or two.  In most cases, only the first (KB3172605) is required.  If that produces a result that indicates the update is not suitable for your computer, you must first install the 2nd day of these (KB3020369), and then install the first (KB3172605).  Choose one that is for your machine - 32-bit (X 86) or 64-bit (X 64).

5. after restarting your computer, wait for about 10 minutes until that Windows Update performs its tasks.  Do not use the computer for other purposes during this waiting period.

6. start Windows Update.  It will take that a few minutes to come up with a list and download updates you select.  The process is quite normal because it was always from that moment.

If your computer has not been updated for a long time, it may take longer.

  • Satellite C50T-A382 - updated to Win 8.1 Pro & touchscreen support

    Dear all

I am currently the owner of Toshiba Satellite C50T-A382 machine which has preinstalled Windows 8.1 edition in plain language.

I now want to upgrade to Windows 8.1 Pro Edition, however I'm worried if updated to Win 8.1 Pro, it will support not my touch screen, because I read many comments on the Internet about other brands, like H.P., happens, etc. where users have upgraded to Windows Pro Win SL 8.1 8.1 and their support of the touchscreen is so more than work.

Very would be grateful if someone could inform if it would still technically support my support for touch screen or not?

    Thank you.

    Concerning
    Tan

I put t see serious reasons why the touch screen is not working after these updates.
The driver that controls the touchscreen part of Windows 8.1 System. It s not supplied by the factory for laptop (Toshiba, etc.), but it of a Microsoft driver.

However, in most laptop cases factory provides own systems preconfigured and tested, including all drivers and additional software. All other systems, own hand are not supported by device manufacturers.

    What does that mean?
This means that in the case of certain problems (after the installation of another system) you will be always asked to test the device original system preinstalled and preconfigured.

    Hi all

I find my Vista starts so long time, about five minutes, and now I want to upgrade to win 7,.
Where can I order the CD Update for win 7 from the Toshiba site. Thank you

    Hello

You cannot order this disk from Toshiba.
You can order just a recovery disk. But if you laptop came with Vista, then the recovery disk contains the Vista OS and not Win 7.

If you want to use Win 7, you can buy this OS and then you could install it on the laptop. Win 7 drivers should be available on the European driver page

    Original title: Windows Update stuck

I had to recover my laptop windows 7 back to out-of-box state system. Once presented to my office, I immediately went to Windows Update to install all of the updates that I needed. After installing SP1, and restart the computer, windows update to update the update agent, so he could get some more updates. He said he would close and re - open Windows Update, which she did, but now it is stuck on "check updates".

The update that broke the update of Windows was "Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320"

I have since made a recovery of the system to the State out-of-box three times and each time "Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320" installs Windows Update is stuck saying "check updates".

I did tons of attempts to solve this problem, but it won't find more updates and I can't install more updates.

I have also experienced problems with Windows Update still looking for updates when Windows Update 7.6.7600.320 has been installed automatically after the system update to SP1 (it was after doing a clean install of Windows 7).

    The following worked for me:

    1. manually installing KB3083710

    2. manually installing KB3102810

    3. restart the computer

    4. run the Windows Update Diagnostic tool to reset Windows Update (support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/971058)

  • Help! -Windows Update stuck on repeat without end (WIN 7 Home Premium)

Last Saturday, I had to do a factory reset on my desktop Dell under Win 7 Home Premium (8 GB of RAM).  He gave me some Windows updates, then told me that I had to install the "Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320"  It installed successfully but since that time, if I check the updates, it "checks" just continuously for updates and that's it.   I let it run all night - nothing.  I have received no updates for M/S Office, Windows, or anything else since the update agent successfully installed.

What is the cause?  I went to start, all programs, and click Windows Update.  I ran Windows Update from the control panel.  Same result - nothing.

I'm so frustrated.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Stuck at 99% installation of updates. Win 7 Ultimate for Windows 10

Need help please, I am stcuk for like 3 hours or so, tried twice... stuck at 99% installation updated ready... Try to update my Windows 7 Ultimate for Windows 10... Thank you...

Give it a little more hours and see if it progresses. If it does not, click Close, and then restart your computer.

    Retry the upgrade manually:

    Option 1:

    Download the media creation tool

Click with the right button on the MediaCreationTool.exe file and then click on run as administrator.

Note: How to check if you are downloaded or installed the update Windows 10 November

How to create an ISO or USB drive.

Select upgrade this PC now and then click Next

    Option 2:

    Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

    then

    then

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).
