Hello

Recently, I realized that this pc do not update Windows. I have taken some steps to try to resolve this, as follows:

1 - Control Panel > Windows Update click Find updates. After a few seconds, error 800b0100.

2 - google and installed the MS update for Win 7 64 bit system tool. A run the tool that installs the KB947821 Hotfix. The software is installed successfully, the message said updates installed.

3 - step Ran 1 again, same error 800b0100. Visited MS help once again, and then clicked auto troubleshooter page. Download, run the software with the following result:

Any ideas what I do next, please?

    Title: Trying to install the new security but windows update won't let me?

    I removed mcafee security off my computer restarted and tried downloading new security trend /titanium... don't leave me not cuz it says I have to update windows... but I try to do - I get a code of 800 b 0100.   • 800b0100 error code when you try to install Windows updates KB974145 and KB978251

    Greetings and salutations:

    Any help would be appreciated.

    I tried to install these 'important' updates several times with the same result - updates failed, error 800b0100 code. I downloaded and installed the KB974821 tool - tells me it installed - same problem. (I don't know if I'm supposed to do something else with KB974821 - I have to "run" or just "installed" it enough?) Instructions could certainly be clearer)

    I tried to download and install the updates manually - without success - I get various error messages, like "does not apply to your system" or "for a different hardware platform.

    I tried this with my firewall/antivirus close as well - using Trend Micro - and still no luck.

    Thoughts, comments, suggestions, help? Very much appreciated. Thank you.


    BTW, I'm running VHP 64 with Service Pack 2 installed. Nothing should be this complicated or frustrating.

    In another forum, where I posted this inquiry (I was told is the right place to post it here) I was advised on how to get the results of the KB947821 tool that I ran.  (Why this information was not given instructions on how to use the tool is beyond me).
