  Title: Trying to install the new security but windows update won't let me?

  I removed mcafee security off my computer restarted and tried downloading new security trend /titanium... don't leave me not cuz it says I have to update windows... but I try to do - I get a code of 800 b 0100.   Any help would be appreciated.

  I tried to install these 'important' updates several times with the same result - updates failed, error 800b0100 code. I downloaded and installed the KB974821 tool - tells me it installed - same problem. (I don't know if I'm supposed to do something else with KB974821 - I have to "run" or just "installed" it enough?) Instructions could certainly be clearer)

  I tried to download and install the updates manually - without success - I get various error messages, like "does not apply to your system" or "for a different hardware platform.

  I tried this with my firewall/antivirus close as well - using Trend Micro - and still no luck.

  Thoughts, comments, suggestions, help? Very much appreciated. Thank you.

  
  

  BTW, I'm running VHP 64 with Service Pack 2 installed. Nothing should be this complicated or frustrating.
