Upgrade card graphic Inspiron 660

Hi, I bought an Inspiron of 660 around 2013. I'm looking to upgrade the graphics card that came with this pc. I'm looking for who can play any current game. I just need to play with ultra settings, just something that can have the fps consistency. Also, I want a card that has a low power consumption. My computer is not the SLIM model, so I think I can get a reasonable size card. My processor is an intel core i5-3330 @ 3.00 ghz and 8 GB of RAM. I'm ready to upgrade my power supply at least 500w.

Until the graphics card can you guys recommend.

Thank you

I would just get a 960 but make sure it will keep actually, I have no idea about your case and what will fit. Most full size 960s are like 9-10 inches long. They do versions Minies of the 960 that are less than 7 inches long.

Here is a good list of high quality PSUS you can consider using. (click on view it full content in the first post) If you have a bigger budget then maybe get a good brand rated gold power supply of this list, as it will save money in the long term power.

Personally I just a seasonic s12ii 620w in my 8700 XPS which was $ 60. but it's only rated so bronze. It comes in a modular version called the "M12II" If you do not want a lot of cable clutter. It's an older power supply, but it is a great unit for the price. Since power efficiency is important to you, it might be better to get a Gold rated well.

SEASONIC is a good brand of power supply. Some brands have a mixture of high quality and of lower quality PSUS due to different manufacturers.  Many power supplies high quality there are just renamed Seasonics.

The average 960 recommends at least a 400w, so a good 500w is a lot. Together on your computer with the 960 will not go anywhere near 500w, only use the card itself as 120w under load. Stick to one of the UPE at several levels higher and you'll be fine.

Just make sure you get your diet has the right male connectors on the Board you get

NVidias new range of GPUS are set to come out this year, allegedly by summer. It was supposed to be a decent jump from the 'old' and allegedly much more power efficient as well. AMD is about to release their new line as well. That being said, to wait for the next best thing is a long wait.

    Hello

I'm looking for any recommendation for graphics cards of the Inspiron 660. Preference that the card will be just straight pop and help me to run Battlefield 3.

    Thank you

    Hello

The Inspiron 660 has following options available for the graphics Chipset:

    • Integrated Intel HD graphics chipset.
    • nVIDIA GeForce GT 620 (per round).
    • AMD Radeon HD 7570.
    • NVIDIA GeForce 640GT (for Mini Tower).

In 660 Inspiron power is 300W for mini tower and Slim Tower is 220W.

This is the graphics card for Battlefield 3 requirement:

Minimum: ATI Radeon 3870 or more, nVidia GeForce 8800 GT or higher.
Recommended: nVidia GeForce GTX 560 or ATI Radeon 6950.

For graphics cards above, the energy supply needs are superior to present food in the computer. You may need to upgrade the power supply, if the graphics card is upgraded.

For any information feel free to contact me.

I can't use my nvidia graphics card, even I can't open the NVIDIA settings window.

He tells me "display NVIDIA settings are not available."

you are not currently using a screen attached to a NVIDIA GPU

    How can I solve it

On the driver tab nVidia GT 620 under display adapters in the Device Manager, which is the version of the driver? This is reflected at the title of the help in the nVidia Control Panel.

Oops, another thought. How you connect the monitor to the computer, VGA, HDMI or DVI? You should use the connector on the video card, NOT the upper connector that must be covered with a plastic cap.

  • Graphics card for Inspiron 660 s

Hi I do not know much about computers, but I have a Dell Inspiron 660 s and I want to upgrade the integrated video card. What video card will fit my diet better computer and power?

7750 HD is very energy efficient.  He's going only to use about 50 watts of power when the games and a lot less when not.  In the comments of this card, those who bought used it on their 660 s Dell and doesn't seem to have problems.  The 7750 HD and HD 6570 will probably all have the same energy, but the 7750 HD is going to be much better for the games.  You would have to put down the way of things on the HD 6570 against the 7750.  Just do not overclock the card or you might have problems on such a small power supply.

If you want to run at higher resolutions and settings to play with games today, I say forget the HD 6570.  However, even the 7750 HD won't all play on highest settings.  It's just that the 7750 HD is the best that you can possibly do for the system you have.  Office supplies Dell used to make more power in their slim cases.  I have a 275 watt in mine.  I would never buy a computer that had only a power SUPPLY 220 watt PSU if I had the game in mind.  My guess is that you would use probably around 175 total watts on the system depending on your CPU.  Obviously, the HD 6570 is half the cost of the 7750 HD so it depends on what you can live with and be happy.

In conclusion, a 220 watt POWER supply is not plenty to run with the HD 7750, but others have run it on the 660 s so that's all I can say.  It's really up to you.  I give it a try if I was trying to play modern games?  Yes, I probably would.  But then again, I'm surprised by the games, people say that they can play with the HD 6570.  If your resolution is 1920 x 1080, then forget it in my opinion.  If your just running 1440 x 900 or 1280 x 1024, then you might be right.

  • T30: Upgrade card graphics and HD

I am looking to update my graphics card as my HD. I know its possible to upgrade the HD but not sure about the graphics card. I use this laptop mainly for music and games of light. I would have been fine with just the upgrade of my HD but recently I bought the Sims 3 and he says: my graphics card is not good enough to start the game and just said that my graphics card 'don't seem to support at least Shader Model 2' and please update. I'm mainly looking to hear what drives hard and (if possible) graphics cards made for easier installations with a T30.

    Welcome to the forum!

Your graphics card is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be replaced. The only solution would be to get a docking station and install a card there, but it's an expensive solution for such a machine old (but adorable).

With respect to the hard drive, T30 will take any portable PATA/IDE of 9.5 mm (2.5 in.), currently the largest room WD 320.

    I hope this helps.

  • Card graphic Inspiron 3847 and compatibility PSU

    Hello everyone.

I recently decided that I get a new graphics card. And the one I want (NVIDIA - GeForce GTX 970 4 GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0), requires a higher power than the stock of 300 Watt one. I don't know too much about compatibility standards, so I basically just want to get a 500 Watt POWER supply. All recommendations are appreciated. I need to know what I can get which is compatible with my PC.

Here's the link to my PC, if you need it-

I want graphics card (if compatible).

If you can, please let me know if it is not compatible for some reason and recommendation possible something that is compatible with my PC.

Unless you have warranty EXTENT invalidation Mods if this card WILL NOT physically go into the matter.

Abbreviated from the 750 GTX TI versions work, but the 970 does not.

8.20 "to 8,89" x 4.72 "x 1.50" inches is about max (depends on the power to the enter the end of the map or in the upper part), which is what was the Geforce 560 TI, which has been shoehorned.  She barely and was VERY tight.

Corsair CS750M is recommended to upgrade power supply.

  • Update the Dell Inspiron 660 graphics card

I had my Dell Inspiron 660 for a little over a year and am now looking to upgrade the graphics card. It's pretty close to it, but mine works on Windows 7:

In my opinion, he has a power supply 300 watt, 8 GB of ram, integrated Intel HD graphics card and is the complete Office Tower (not mini). I'm tired of playing games on low heat and would like a card that can handle parameters of medium-high on the games. I could upgrade food if necessary, but would like to keep all of the budget under $ 200. I heard the AMD Radeon 7750 may work with a 300 Watt power supply, but I don't want to take the risk of harming the computer. One of these cards would be suitable for my current setup:

    http://www.Amazon.com/XFX-DisplayPort-PCI-Express-FX775...

    or

    http://www.Amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-1024MB-graphics-01G-...

Or do I have to switch to a diet that is higher (like this one), and then that the cards would be good under $150?

    http://www.Amazon.com/Corsair-Builder-series-Watt-CX500...

You can use the 650 GTX because it requires a power supply cable 6 pin that does not have 300 watt POWER supply.  The only one that works is the 7750 HD because it does not require any additional power cling. Your best bet for the game would be to upgrade your power supply.  With the upgrade of the PSU, I will seek to obtain the R7 X 260 HERE.  This is the best you can do for less than $150.

  • Inspiron 660 - undetected graphics card

I have an i5 Inspiron 660 recent MT with Windows 8.

I installed a graphics card fully working Radeon HD5670. However, starting with the plugged card I don't received a completely black screen or no signal. I switched the video cable to the video integrated and found that the Radeon does not even appear in the Windows Device Manager.

I need to change a setting in the bios for the card detectable?

Thank you all for your suggestions.

The problem turned out be the Dell power supply - there is not enough amperage on the 12V rail. I installed a decent replacement and all this work a - OK.

  • Update card Inspiron graphic s 660

    Hello

I have a 660 s Inspiron with an Intel i5 processor and and I was wondering what cards graphics would work well with his power and who return in the title box of the office. I heard the Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 profile low card was good, but I was wondering about the other card as well.

    Thank you

    Hi jumar81,

Dell has tested the graphics card with the Dell Inspiron 660 system:

    • NVidia GeForce GT 620 Low Profile
    • AMD Radeon HD 7570 Low Profile

You can refer to the owner's manual for instructions on replacing hardware components. Please follow the safety guidelines.

I hope this helps. Answer please if you have any questions.

  • 3647 Inspiron small office limit of RAM and graphics upgrade card limit

    Hello world

I thought about upgrading RAM on my Inspiron 3647 small office and graphics for a while now, and I would ask if she can handle 16 GB of RAM (8GBx2) and for all of the suggestions for an upgrade of a 625 GT that would go in his case. The computer has 2 DIMM slots, so I don't think that the 16 GB of ram should be a problem. He already has 4 GB pre-installed.

    Thanks in advance.

    It supports 16 gigs.

  • Upgrading the graphics card on my pavilion

want to upgrade the graphics card to my PC in order to improve the gaming experience to this topic, the absence of a powerful video card is the only thing preventing my games works fine, so I was thinking about upgrading to a 2 GB card, but I don't know if my PC would actually support it or if I could install it at all. Could someone here tell me if I could install this material? Thank you

    Graphics card: here

    Hello

The NVIDIAGTX 650or the NVIDIA GTX 660would be a good choice.  I'd go with the GTX 660 if you want to run at resolutions higher than with the ultra game settings.    The Corsair CX 500 or CX600 would be good choice for a replacement power supply.

The 6 GB of memory in your PC is a little low by RUST, but I would give it a go with the updates above before increasing the memory of your system.

I think I have a small Tower because it doesn't have a lot of empty space inside. Is it possible to have a card not in the Tower?

The GTX 750 will not work.  Only low-profile cards will be suitable to the 660 s.  You also only a 220 Watt power supply.  I run the HD 6570 HERE in 660 s who does well enough with the games.  Even if you can still find them (overpriced) because they have been abandoned, the 7750 HD HERE worked in the 660 s and was the best card you could get.  The Sapphire is available only used on ebay, but other brands are still there.  The HD 6570 would be higher than your Intel HD graphics and for the price can be your best buy.  You cannot run the cards outside your Tower.

  • Card support FireWire on Inspiron 660

I bought your desktop Inspiron 660 with Win 8 (original version, I think) a year or two ago.  Eventually want to use devices USB Audio (sampler Edirol UA-25, helmet DAC etc.) which are not supported by base 8 Win, the cheapest solution was to upgrade to a new version of Win 7 (I got a Dell version) with a new HDD in the desktop.   This arrangement works very well with all my USB audio devices.

Then, I want to run an audio interface box 4-Channel M-Audio Firewire and Firewire PCI express card to receive from eBay.  It's a 1394, unbranded with chip WB381.  It appears in Device Manager - no reported problems. However the menu sounds in the Panel sees as an available playback or recording device, and the M-Audio box reports also no link.  I tried all three drivers available in Windows 7 for the card, as suggested elsewhere, without success.  M-audio box works OK with Win XP on another computer with a Firewire port that is provided by an OEM, but I don't have any other PC with ports PCI express to test the card...

This is likely to be a problem of Dell software or a hardware/driver PCI problem.  Maybe I should get a card with a different chipset.  I note, there is a lot of posts related to problems with Firewire and Dell computers.  Are there tests I can run to determine what is happening.

    Thanks in advance

    John

Windows 8 and 8.1 firewire drivers are laminated.

The only way to solve this problem is to use a card with Texas Instruments Chipset and copy the LEGACY drivers from a windows machine 7.
