Updating desktop Inspiron 660 s graphics

I have a desktop Dell Inspiron 660 s running with 6 GB of memory, 1 to hard drive and Intel HD graphics. I want to improve my graphics in order to allow a better gaming experience. I would like to know if it is possible to improve the graphics and if I could come to this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IDG3NDY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Thanks for any help!

I think I have a small Tower because it doesn't have a lot of empty space inside. Is it possible to have a card not in the Tower?

The GTX 750 will not work.  Only low-profile cards will be suitable to the 660 s.  You also only a 220 Watt power supply.  I run the HD 6570 HERE in 660 s who does well enough with the games.  Even if you can still find them (overpriced) because they have been abandoned, the 7750 HD HERE worked in the 660 s and was the best card you could get.  The Sapphire is available only used on ebay, but other brands are still there.  The HD 6570 would be higher than your Intel HD graphics and for the price can be your best buy.  You cannot run the cards outside your Tower.

    Hi Salucchi,

The hard disk that you mentioned is a hard disk SATA III and that your computer has SATA III connectors. So, this player should work with the system.

  • Update drivers Inspiron 660 s Intel

I had a failure of the update via Windows Update my Intel Driver. It kept failing. I went to the Intel Download Center, and he's looking for me. There is no new update listed under my Dell computer, than I already have. Apparently, he had two types of updates available for my computer at Intel chipset driver. Now, Intel found two drivers, I believe that he installed a. Another keep. This is the exe for WIN64_152822.exe and it fails every time. He said to close all programs. I thought I did. Although Carbonite will not let you go out just. I used the Task Manager to close a bunch of them. So I froze just Carbonite, because knock out would not work via the Task Manager. I couldn't leave my Eset Nod32 either, so I disabled it temporarily. I didn't stop all Intel running in fear, it would not continue with the update of the driver. Has anyone dealt with this issue?

There is no need to update the graphics driver Intel unless one is located on the site of Dell and is recommended. Otherwise, leave well enough alone.  I only update of the dedicated graphics drivers for video cards.

  • Inspiron 660 - undetected graphics card

I have an i5 Inspiron 660 recent MT with Windows 8.

I installed a graphics card fully working Radeon HD5670. However, starting with the plugged card I don't received a completely black screen or no signal. I switched the video cable to the video integrated and found that the Radeon does not even appear in the Windows Device Manager.

I need to change a setting in the bios for the card detectable?

Thank you all for your suggestions.

The problem turned out be the Dell power supply - there is not enough amperage on the 12V rail. I installed a decent replacement and all this work a - OK.

  • Card support FireWire on Inspiron 660

I bought your desktop Inspiron 660 with Win 8 (original version, I think) a year or two ago.  Eventually want to use devices USB Audio (sampler Edirol UA-25, helmet DAC etc.) which are not supported by base 8 Win, the cheapest solution was to upgrade to a new version of Win 7 (I got a Dell version) with a new HDD in the desktop.   This arrangement works very well with all my USB audio devices.

Then, I want to run an audio interface box 4-Channel M-Audio Firewire and Firewire PCI express card to receive from eBay.  It's a 1394, unbranded with chip WB381.  It appears in Device Manager - no reported problems. However the menu sounds in the Panel sees as an available playback or recording device, and the M-Audio box reports also no link.  I tried all three drivers available in Windows 7 for the card, as suggested elsewhere, without success.  M-audio box works OK with Win XP on another computer with a Firewire port that is provided by an OEM, but I don't have any other PC with ports PCI express to test the card...

This is likely to be a problem of Dell software or a hardware/driver PCI problem.  Maybe I should get a card with a different chipset.  I note, there is a lot of posts related to problems with Firewire and Dell computers.  Are there tests I can run to determine what is happening.

    Thanks in advance

    John

Windows 8 and 8.1 firewire drivers are laminated.

The only way to solve this problem is to use a card with Texas Instruments Chipset and copy the LEGACY drivers from a windows machine 7.

  • Inspiron 660, power led?

I have a desktop Dell Inspiron 660. The good news is that I have a very high quality HD camcorder.  The bad news is that it requires a FireWire port to connect with my computer. No problem, I thought. I got a PCI to provide one. It requires that a power cable be connected to make it work. I jumped to open the case expects to find the usual complement of lines of unused energy available for such use. In fact, there is nothing at all.

The desktop computer Inspiron 660 doesn't have the old white PCI ports. There the new black locations of PCIe (PCI Express).

    Desktop Inspiron 660 PC =
    Three PCIe x 1 connectors
    A PCIe x 16 video card location

PCIe cards should not require a power wire. You need to buy a FireWire PCIe x 1 card.

  • Update card Inspiron graphic s 660

    Hello

I have a 660 s Inspiron with an Intel i5 processor and and I was wondering what cards graphics would work well with his power and who return in the title box of the office. I heard the Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 profile low card was good, but I was wondering about the other card as well.

    Thank you

    Hi jumar81,

Dell has tested the graphics card with the Dell Inspiron 660 system:

    • NVidia GeForce GT 620 Low Profile
    • AMD Radeon HD 7570 Low Profile

You can refer to the owner's manual for instructions on replacing hardware components. Please follow the safety guidelines.

I hope this helps. Answer please if you have any questions.

  • Update the Dell Inspiron 660 graphics card

I had my Dell Inspiron 660 for a little over a year and am now looking to upgrade the graphics card. It's pretty close to it, but mine works on Windows 7:

In my opinion, he has a power supply 300 watt, 8 GB of ram, integrated Intel HD graphics card and is the complete Office Tower (not mini). I'm tired of playing games on low heat and would like a card that can handle parameters of medium-high on the games. I could upgrade food if necessary, but would like to keep all of the budget under $ 200. I heard the AMD Radeon 7750 may work with a 300 Watt power supply, but I don't want to take the risk of harming the computer. One of these cards would be suitable for my current setup:

    http://www.Amazon.com/XFX-DisplayPort-PCI-Express-FX775...

    or

    http://www.Amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-1024MB-graphics-01G-...

Or do I have to switch to a diet that is higher (like this one), and then that the cards would be good under $150?

    http://www.Amazon.com/Corsair-Builder-series-Watt-CX500...

You can use the 650 GTX because it requires a power supply cable 6 pin that does not have 300 watt POWER supply.  The only one that works is the 7750 HD because it does not require any additional power cling. Your best bet for the game would be to upgrade your power supply.  With the upgrade of the PSU, I will seek to obtain the R7 X 260 HERE.  This is the best you can do for less than $150.

  • Card graphic Inspiron 660 recommendations

    Hello

I'm looking for any recommendation for graphics cards of the Inspiron 660. Preference that the card will be just straight pop and help me to run Battlefield 3.

    Thank you

    Ronak

    Hello

The Inspiron 660 has following options available for the graphics Chipset:

    • Integrated Intel HD graphics chipset.
    • nVIDIA GeForce GT 620 (per round).
    • AMD Radeon HD 7570.
    • NVIDIA GeForce 640GT (for Mini Tower).

In 660 Inspiron power is 300W for mini tower and Slim Tower is 220W.

This is the graphics card for Battlefield 3 requirement:

Minimum: ATI Radeon 3870 or more, nVidia GeForce 8800 GT or higher.
Recommended: nVidia GeForce GTX 560 or ATI Radeon 6950.

For graphics cards above, the energy supply needs are superior to present food in the computer. You may need to upgrade the power supply, if the graphics card is upgraded.

For any information feel free to contact me.

  • Graphics card for Inspiron 660 s

Hi I do not know much about computers, but I have a Dell Inspiron 660 s and I want to upgrade the integrated video card. What video card will fit my diet better computer and power?

7750 HD is very energy efficient.  He's going only to use about 50 watts of power when the games and a lot less when not.  In the comments of this card, those who bought used it on their 660 s Dell and doesn't seem to have problems.  The 7750 HD and HD 6570 will probably all have the same energy, but the 7750 HD is going to be much better for the games.  You would have to put down the way of things on the HD 6570 against the 7750.  Just do not overclock the card or you might have problems on such a small power supply.

If you want to run at higher resolutions and settings to play with games today, I say forget the HD 6570.  However, even the 7750 HD won't all play on highest settings.  It's just that the 7750 HD is the best that you can possibly do for the system you have.  Office supplies Dell used to make more power in their slim cases.  I have a 275 watt in mine.  I would never buy a computer that had only a power SUPPLY 220 watt PSU if I had the game in mind.  My guess is that you would use probably around 175 total watts on the system depending on your CPU.  Obviously, the HD 6570 is half the cost of the 7750 HD so it depends on what you can live with and be happy.

In conclusion, a 220 watt POWER supply is not plenty to run with the HD 7750, but others have run it on the 660 s so that's all I can say.  It's really up to you.  I give it a try if I was trying to play modern games?  Yes, I probably would.  But then again, I'm surprised by the games, people say that they can play with the HD 6570.  If your resolution is 1920 x 1080, then forget it in my opinion.  If your just running 1440 x 900 or 1280 x 1024, then you might be right.

  • Radeon HD 7570 vs 7750 for Inspiron 660 s?

I want to update my integrated Intel HD Graphics 2500 on my Inspiron 660 s, which has an I3-3240, 4 GB of RAM (which I intend to get 4 GB more), PSU 220w and Slim Case, a Radeon HD 7570 or 7750 which I just wanted to know which is safer to have with my diet and the profitability of this one. Thank you for your time and your response.

None is validated and both use more power than a 6450 either kill your diet.  If you want to upgrade you must have obtained the mini lathe with minimum power 305 w.

  • Dell Inspiron 660 AMD Radeon HD 7800 series BSOD

Recently, I have put my Dell Inspiron 660 with a new graphics card, an AMD Radeon HD 7800. At the same time, I improved the power source to a Corsair Builder Series CXM modular 80 PLUS Bronze certified ATX/EPS power supply 500W.

I installed the card, update drivers and disabled the integrated graphics card. I tried to disable the onboard graphics via BIOS but there is no option to disable it in the BIOS, the AMD Radeon also is not running in the BIOS. If I uninstall the onboard graphics, the computer just re - installs on reboot.

The card works for everyday tasks, but whenever I try to launch a game, it works fine without any problems for a few minutes and then crash with a BSOD. Then, the computer restarts and is as usual.

The Inspiron 660 comes with the processor intel core i3-2130, 4 GB Ram and a 64-bit operating system.

Any help at all would be much appreciated.

Then, you need to get a more expensive food.

  • Inspiron 660 cannot connect to Internet/cable network

I bought a Dell Inspiron 660. It came with Windows 8, but I successfully installed Windows 7 Home Prime (32 bit) on the subject instead.

The computer came with a "Dell DW1506 (802.11 b/g/n) half mini-map WLAN" and what appears to be a built-in ethernet port.

However, it is supposed to be a desktop at home, and when I plug a CAT-5 cable to plug into our existing router (which has a Verizon DSL internet connection) it does not 'see' the internet/router/task force.

Y at - it something I am doing wrong? How can I get this computer to get 'on' the network wired and not on a wireless network?

I'm not completely tech-stupid, but I know that internet/cable networks are usually 'plug and play' and I'm puzzled why I can't get it to see the network/router.

    Thank you.

    Hi LakotaWolf,

The problem might be related to do not installed the drivers.

You can install the Ethernet driver for your system from the http://dell.to/18uMd9slink.

Try to connect to the internet by cable after updating the drivers.

I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to answer for any further assistance.

  • Impossible to update my hp p001tx nvidia graphics card

I can't update my nvidia gt 830 graphics card m in my computer hp laptop p001tx and he said: this is the latest version of the driver software and also I checked nvidia site

    so please help me

If the operating system indicates that the installed driver is the latest driver available, believe it.

Does not update the driver from anywhere other than the download section portal of HP support or by use of the Assistant de Support HP. Does not update the driver graphic Windows Update or the NVIDIA site!

Update a driver for a portable computer is not the same as for a desktop PC. Drivers for laptops are usually specific to the model laptop and use a suppllied reference driver by the manufacturer of the graphics card that has been modified by the manufacturer of the laptop. Only update drivers when a new driver is available at HP.

  • Choice of a model of desktop Inspiron for two monitors

I didn't keep on computer hardware for some time and I found myself completely confused now that I'm looking to choose a new system that will support two monitors. It seemed simple at first, but now I'm a little worried that I'm missing something.

    In any case...

I am looking to buy a desktop Inspiron model relatively inexpensive which allows two monitors. What should I look for to confirm the system that I'm looking will support two monitors? At first I thought that I would need to have a discreet graphics as opposed to something like the graphics card intel integrated, but some of the things I've seen seem to indicate the onboard graphics on some of the tips Intel will do what I need.

I would mainly use for extended desktop just to be able to open MS Excel on both screens, but sometimes I wish I could watch my DIRECTV on one of the monitors (probably by logging into my DIRECTV account, as I do sometimes on my laptop).

Hoping someone can give me an idea here.

    Thanks in advance!

No, I don't say that all Intel adapters will work. The link I gave was a particular model Inspiron. Apparently the web page changed, because when I went back to it, the page was different.

    You buy a system with a card video of at least one of the monitors. Or, if you really want a cheap system, you can buy one that has only the onboard video and then separately purchase a USB > {video) dongle where {video} matches at least one port on the second monitor, for example USB > HDMI.}
