Upgrade CPU laptop Compaq CQ50-110US

I did the possible research upgraded the CPU in my laptop Compaq CQ50-110US, which currently has an AMD Turion X 2 RM - 70, 2.0 GHz.  I was informed that the Turion X 2 Ultra ZM - 86, 2.4 GHz, is the best upgrade that is possible. But after reviewing the laptop (http://products.amd.com/en-us/) AMD processors and make a comparison, I wonder if a Turion II Ultra M660, 2.7 GHz (which seems to be the fastest computer laptop AMD processor at present) could also work? Wattage is the same X 2 heat and Ultra generation difference seems negligible.  The RM-70 has Nvidia GeForce 8200 M graphics card. I don't know what is available on the M660.

If anyone has any advice, it would be much appreciated.  Thank you!

The new BIOS to do any good, should have included the Code that expanded compatible processors. HP has no reason to write such a code. If they are updating the BIOS, this is something that they care, like compatibility with a new operating system or solve the problems they would have to be financed under the guarantee. HP is the only entity that can write a BIOS for the system because it is closed and owner. They assume the processor you have is that you always have and they write only BIOS which cover the processors they choose to offer with systems. Occasionally, a non - OEM processor will work, but not very often. Look at the thread sticky erico at the top of this map:

Computer laptop Update FAQ

The best advice is that you can probably use an HP processor offered with your model of series, but try installing anything else is a gamble at best.

    Hello

Can someone please confirm that my Compaq Presario B1223TU, who has a processor Intel T5250 CPU can be upgraded to the Intel T9500 (Penryn) 2.6 GHhz.

I already installed the latest version of BIOS 68MSU f.0Une on my computer.

After checking the site Web of Compaq to my computer here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-57986-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&...

In the correction and improvement of article he States: "adds support for new Intel processors.

What exactly are these new Intel processors because it is not clear? It's the BIOS version 68MSU ROM. F05

I guess that means it supports the new Penryn T9500, T8100, T8300 and T9300 processor, but I'm not sure.

I also found this site selling retail who says that it is supported as well for my particular laptop but it does not include the Intel T9500: http://www.ambry.com/page/modelnu/GS111PA/463050-001.html

Can someone please confirm that the T9500 is a possible upgrade for me. Thank you.

  • Upgrade CPU laptop CQ60-211DX

I have a CQ60-211DX laptop.  It uses a processor Intel Celeron 585 2.16 GHz core simple.  It is a processor Socket 9.

I want to know if it is possible at this level to a processor Socket 9 better, such as the Pentium Dual Core or Core 2 Duo.  My main concern is what families of processor will support the motherboard.

My research so far indicates that the Celeron has a max of 31W TDP.  The Pentium Dual Core T3200 (2.0 GHz) and T3400 (2.16 Ghz) have a max TDP of 35W and the Core 2 Duo has a maximum TDP of 10 w.  So, the Pentium Dual Core would generate a little more heat than the Celero, but I think he might be able to handle the additional 4W?  The Core 2 Duo, on the other hand, almost cold.

The Celeron and Pentium have 1 MB of L2 cache, but the Core 2 Duo has 2 MB.  The Core 2 Duo has a pace much more slow clock (1.5 Ghz), but I understand that it is still faster than the Pentium with the effectiveness of the architecture.

I don't know how the FSB affects things, but the Celeron and Pentium are 667 MHz while the Core 2 Dio is 533 MHz.

There are several other statistics I do not understand.  A large part of the information I have just the pages that follow.  Also, I have confirmed with a representative of Intel Celeron 585 is, indeed, Socket P.

    http://Ark.Intel.com/compare.aspx?IDs=35583, 37160,33920,36681,

    http://Ark.Intel.com/search.aspx?q=socket%20P&t=ProductGroup

    http://Ark.Intel.com/ProductCollection.aspx?series=28964

    http://Ark.Intel.com/ProductCollection.aspx?series=23517

It seems that Intel does not often stated that a processor is Socket P, but Sockets supported including the PPGA478 seems to be what I'm looking for.  Not entirely sure, though.  There seems to be the T7000 and T8000 T9000 series processors that support PPGA478, also.

    http://Ark.Intel.com/product.aspx?ID=27255&processor=T7200&spec-codes=SL9SF, SL9SL

    http://Ark.Intel.com/product.aspx?ID=27256&processor=T7400&spec-codes=SL9SE, SL9SK, SLGFJ, SLGFV

    http://Ark.Intel.com/product.aspx?ID=27257&processor=T7600&spec-codes=SL9SD, SL9SJ

Although T8000 and T9000 models all have much higher FSB speeds.  Yet once again, I don't know enough to understand what effect this has on compatibility, so I guess I should stay with 667 MHz.

Finally, I guess the U7000 series is more advanced than any of the T series, but other TPD and VID lower voltage max quantity, all other specs seem lower (FSB, clock speed, L2 cache memory).

Soldering is not a problem.  I don't know if my processor is welded on or not (have not yet cracked open and will not until I know that it is worth), but even if this is the case, I have a soldering iron, solder Wick and the skills to remove the welding without damaging the components.

So what I've been able to reconstruct so far.  If someone could let me know which processors can handle the motherboard on my laptop, I would really appreciate it.  If someone could suggest what processors would offer the best performance gain, would be great, too.

    Thank you!

    Luke

    Hello

What follows is a listed one CPU upgrade CPU option for your product.

Processor Mobile Intel Core 2 Duo T5850 - 2.16 GHz (Merom-MV, at 667 MHz front side bus, 2 MB cache level 2 total, taken Micro-FC-PGA, 35W TDP, 65nm)

If you plan to upgrade limit you your purchase know CPU compatible and functional. This way you will save yourself the disappointment of an incompatible CPU installation.

As notebook BIOS do not have many options tweakable, which disqualifies basically anything but what the manufacturer offers for upgrades in option.

the CPU I have listed and linked to is probably the best you can do for your laptop.

  • List of upgrade CPU laptop HP G7 - 2030ca

    Hello

I would like to know is there is a list of the CPU compatible to your laptop HP G7 - 2030ca. I currently have a Core i3 - 2350 m. I found a document showing a Core i5 - 2450 m should be compatible, but I would like to know if there are any other Core i5 (or maybe dual core i7) that are compatible with this device. Maybe even third gen Core i5, anyone know?

Thank you very much for your help,

    -Mat

    Hi Matt,

You can find a list of compatible processors on Page 82 of your & Maintenance Guide.

Note:  I do not work for HP, but looking at the degree of disassembly required, I guess that would void any warranty (if any) If you do the work yourself.

    Best regards

Your laptop has two DIMM slots. The maximum amount of memory, others have upgraded to 4 GB is. The maximum recommended by HP is 2 GB. The memory of replacement should be PC2-5300 667 Mhz, 1.8V

Here is a link to the memory at Crucial.com.  Only use the modules of replacement by major memory creators who produce guaranteed compatible memory modules to avoid the risk of buying incompatible modules.

Motherboard is HP 488338-001 alternative No. Its one with onboard nVidia graphics and an hdmi output.

The current processor is an Intel Pentium Dual Core T4200 2.0 Ghz, 800 MHz FSB, socket P...

    See: http://www.cpu-world.com/sspec/SL/SLGJN.html

The options available in the link of the CQ60 User Guide: point 13 down:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02985882.PDF

    relate only to the:

    CPU T3200 http://www.cpu-world.com/sspec/QB/QBNT.html

    and CPU T3400 http://www.cpu-world.com/sspec/QG/QGFM.html

processors respectively both with a 667 Mhz front bus and 1 MB of L2 cache

The question is what the CPU can be used as a possible substitute for a performance on the T4200 gain?

The following text appears to be very similar to the T4200, but roll up a gear clock spec. None of them would be viable and of course even wouldn't she do on such an older machine now? The BIOS would support a higher clocked CPU speed?

    T4300 (2.1 GHz), T4400 (2.2 Ghz), T4500 (2.3 Ghz), - all ran 800 Mhz bus speed and 1 MB of L2 cache

CPU is not mentioned on any other ideas that could also work with the specified above mother card would also be appreciated.

    Thank you

Yes, there is a point in going more slowly so that your pc supports dual channel.
You have 800 MHz if you hace two-channel memory will clock at 533 Mhz and then multiplied twice which is 1066 Mhz
It is a parameter which allocates memory of your cpu (long story)
and as I can see, your PCH supports 1066 Mhz which will make it intresting.

No sound from the laptop without headphones... help?

Until today, I was perfectly able to hear the sound in my Compaq CQ50-107NR notebook PC with or without headphones plugged. I have not upgraded or anything and I don't know how to fix it. It shows everything works well, but is not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi rajiv puri,.

Because that did not fix the issue, I suggest delete and then install the sound card and check.

It may also be that the sound card may be disabled in the BIOS, probably only the edge can work.

  • Compaq cq58 205 sl: upgrade for laptop

Hello everyone, I thought to upgrade my computer compaq laptop cq58 205sl. I upgraded RAM and mounted an SSD, I would replace the CPU with a more powerful, I don't know if you can do it, and in particular the list of caught processors supported by the motherboard

You have the processor Celeron B830 and I can understand why you want to upgrade it. Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See page 21. Your laptop motherboard supports Celeron or Pentium procesors not the hearts of Intel, who would be the best choice. This means that your best option will be a Pentium 2030 M that bump you up to 1.8 ghz to 2.5 ghz and would be a major upgrade.

The manual will show you someone who is familiar with these things how to do the upgrade and the processor Pentium 2030 M is not expensive:

I have a question an abot in Selangor, this motherboard.

the graphics chip is separate or integrated.

My cq71 crashed and stopped working continuous overheating by weak graphics.

so ive decided to spend the whole motherboard.

but I need to know to or if I could spend graphics.

I have already upgraded to the ram for the future graphics card integrated.

also additional guides on how to pass map main would be apprteciated.

No RAM, but you would like to install a better processor, too. Look at the manual for CPU options. They will be pretty inexpensive at this stage. You should also another radiator/heater unit to work with the different video chip. But it adapts to your chassis. The only way to look at this case if you do your own work. Otherwise, the cost will approach the price of a new laptop computer. Even do your own work that you will probably have to spend more than $150.
