  My HP DV7 came with Home Premium 64 bit V. I won a question pre Win 7 Pro that I can use the XP functionality. Update cannot be made. Can I switch to Vista Pro and Win 7 pro? Looks like it is possible without doing a clean install I want to avoid. Or have I just lost my money?

  32-bit, including most of the operating systems XP installed is, in 64-bit is not an upgrade path.

  It must be done with a clean installation, moving from 32 bit to 64 bit.

  You can only change from 32-bit to 32-bit.

• upgrade to support/drivers of material for Pavilion dv8000t with Win 7

  Just upgraded my 2005 HP Pavilion dv8000t for Win 7 32 bit home premium.  Only XP was initially available, and now HP support will not recognize anything whatsoever to allow driver downloads.  Anyone else run into this?  Ideas, suggestions?

  If you cannot connect to the internet, please post the hardware ID's for Ethernet controller and network controller.

  I will guide you how to find the hardware for the network controller ID, and if you want, you can post the hardware ID's for all the missing devices, and I'll see what I can find.

  Go to Device Manager and click on the network controller needing drivers.

  Then click on the Details tab at the top of the control of the network window.

  Now, you see a drop-down list of property and it is set by default to the Description of the unit.

  Drop down on it and select the second item in the list (Hardware ID).

I have a laptop pretty old (Sony VAIO 2009 or 2010) and it came with Vista, but it was a Windows 7 free upgrade, so it is running Windows 7. I saw that Windows 7 users would be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free and I was wondering if this method applied to me. Would I be able to upgrade to Windows 10 free with my old product ID?   No, you can buy a full license for this computer. The free update is installed just for devices with Windows 7 or 8.1.

  A work around is to install the current Preview on the machine and qualify for the final.

  The answer is you can't. The only versions of Acrobat software eligible for upgrade to Acrobat DC are 10 Acrobat and Acrobat 11. Unfortunately, your only option with Acrobat 9 (or any other previous version of Acrobat) is to buy a full license (not updated). Please contact Adobe customer service (which is not here) for a refund or Exchange.

  Yes, I saw that too.  I called and they said that a subscription for one year for Adobe Acrobat Pro is $179,88.  (This happens to be $14.99 X 12).  They could take my order over the phone, but were not sure that this price is available on the web.
