Upgrade hardware 400 XPS boards

I have a desktop computer XPS 400 that I would like to upgrade its equipment to make it work like a new computer "current-gen". I would like to allow it to run newer games like Black Ops II or perhaps GTAV to round an SPF of at least 30, if I turn down the graphics so that it can run that I am not afraid, because I prefer not to pay a lot of money because I simply don't have a lot of money. My XPS 400 has 2.50 GB of RAM, an Intel Pentium D processor, an ATI graphics card and a power to 2.80 GHz.

Update the Bios later.  And are looking for a cheap good series pentium D 900, UNLESS you already have a.

The reason is that, with pressler 900 series pentium D, you can run 64-bit windows 8 or 10.  The 915 is as low as $9 on ebay.  You can use 915 completely to 960.

Games will require a better GPU.  GeForce GTX 750 TI is the sweet spot for speed vs price so that's where spend you money.  And it's also not a lot of money after bad because you can always get a newer system and move this map on it.

  • The upgrade of hardware Dell XPS 15 (L502X)

    Hello

    I have a dell Inspiron 15R (l502x) bought 4.5 years back. I want to upgrade the laptop in any way possible. Here are my current features: i7 processor, 6 GB RAM, NVidia graphics card 525M, NIC Intel wireless N1030, 500GB HDD (improved to 1 TB).

    What all can update this sheet? HARD drive is already updated, then I'll upgrade the network card, as my system does not support ca 802.11. I intend to improve with Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260.

    What else can be changed? upgrade of the motherboard is needed to improve the system performance? Although the system handles everyday applications with occasional slowdown of the entire system. Yesterday, the idling system to a State where the audio was breaking.

    Please let me know what all can be done.

    Crucial to the States (and, if you purchase through its memory Configurator guaranteed) 16 G.

  • Upgrade GPU for XPS 8700

    As the title says, I have a question about the Dell XPS 8700. I wanted to update the graphics card and after browsing through the forum, I think I already know the answer, but would have an EVGA GeForce GTX 960 to adapt and be compatible.

    The dimensions of the GPU are 4.38 inches x 10.1 inches x 2 inches with a request for a power of 400 W.

    There is an entire thread dedicated to the XPS 8700 / nVidia GTX upgrade.

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3515/t/19611037

    you don't need to upgrade the power supply for a GTX 960, and most will fit.

    Regarding the power supply, I went with Seasonic X - 650 s and they are a little longer than the original but adapt easily.

  • The upgrade of my XPS 435mt CPU

    Does anyone know if the processor on the XPS 435mt (bought in 2010) can be upgraded to a new processor generation 3rd i7 - or if the motherboard would be able to accept anything newer than the 2.67Ghz that I come to the Board of Directors - he slowed way and I thought buy an i7 would keep at least going me for a few years...?  Any ideas or suggestions?  If I have to replace the motherboard to upgrade of processor - has someone at - he tried this successfully?  What motherboard do you have had success with.  I use the computer mainly for video editing of home movies... and internet surfing - just seems like he has really slowed down... Thank you

    Sorry to revive an old topic but I am also wanting to upgrade my cpu to the 965 920 (as above). It would simply be a Plug - and play Exchange with nothing else to do? Well well, after a BIOS update? And I'd love any transfer to a new, more general cases.

    T Hutchems

    Yes.

    But, before you install the new processor, verify that the latest BIOS is installed.

    When a processor or a radiator is removed, replaced or reused, it is advisable to clean both and reapply a paste heat, as indicated.

    Instructions for cleaning and application of thermal paste, are HERE.

    Only a small tube of thermal paste is required, this can be bought from any store of the local computer, or online.

  • Upgrade HD for XPS M1210 (Media Direct)

    Hello

    I read the whole forum, however I have still no answer to my question:

    Is it possible to upgrade my XPS M1210 installed HD (Hitachi Travelstar 80 GB, 5400 RPM, SATA) to a new and more BIG HD (Samsung HM 320JI, 320 GB, 5400 RPM, SATA)?

    I've read several threats on the problem with HD Dell Media Direct partition, but I have not found a solution.

    What I've done so far: changed HDs, (backup and restore with Acronis True Image Enterprise Server 9.1).

    The new HD works, but the System (BIOS) does not like a 320 HD, he still thinks that the HD has the same size as the old one (80 GB less a couple of GB).

    If there is no way to upgrade to a Dell laptop, there is no reason to buy Dell!

    Thanks for your help and answers

  • Upgrade to a XPS cards graphics - 630i any help appreciated!

    Hello world

    Time reader and first time poster long!

    I the 9800gt SLI 2 who are ready for an upgrade with 2 years of Dragons and Deus Ex on the horizon.

    I have not updated any part of the machine since it buy 2 years ago so I still have the q6600 and the memory of stock.

    The question I have is - what graphics card should I go for DX11 - I have some money to spend £200-£250.

    The main problem with not jumping in full and get one myself is that I'm terrified to get one that will not - match not only length wise but some of the photos that I have seen that the width of a small number could give serious inside the case questions.

    I think I should be ok with my diet because it is strong enough.

    Thanks for any help!

    Well good £250 is about $400 if you have little space to play with.

    You can purchase both s AMD Radeon 6950 to around $250 (£155) each. Thay can get you on your budget a bit but should not go all-out on a Crossfire or SLI immediately, you can set up and obtain of a second later.
    For an option of nVidia, you can go with a GT560ti - cost the same.
    A single nVidia GTX570 is $ 360 (£224).

    I don't know if retailers online UK for these parts. Newegg.com and tigerdirect.com are popular here, but they have not approved UK I can say.

    I can tell you that Crysis 2 has a lot of ads shared with nVidia, so, just like the first game, it seems that Crytek will probably optimize their graphics engine NVIDIA GPU. I can't speak to Deus Ex because I've personally never been big inside.

    When it comes to size it seems that it is almost the same as s 9800GTs or Radeon HD 4870. About 10 inches (25.4 cm) long, slightly less than 4.5 inches (11.4 cm) deep 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) wide. According to the seller that you will with it can differ a little, sometimes they stick on their own cooling solutions that may be more or less important. On the side of nVidia, I love EVGA and ASUS and AMD I like XFX & ASUS (I have two XFX cards in my gaming system).

    Here are the newest & some of the best DX11 cards of.

  • Workflow for the upgrade hardware and tools with vShield.

    Hello

    I start with the vCO and JavaScript!

    I start in the workflow that Cody Bunch created at this url and made a few changes to add vShield drivers to update tools and upgrading VMware Hardware (compatibility).

    WithoutDecision.JPG

    When I hit a virtual machine with the hardware to the latest version of the accident of workflow. So, I wanted to add a decision point before the Hardware Upgrade VM Workflow.

    WithDecision.JPG

    If the virtual machine incorporates the latest Version of hardware I want to skip the hardware upgrade VM version. I want to write a simple script that look like this:

    If (VMHardware version is updated) {}

    Returns false;

    }

    else {}

    Returns true;

    }

    I'm looking in the IPY research in vCO to find the good of the hardware Version and I can't! Can someone help me with this? Where can I find it?

    I know that I can do this with the Update Manager, but I want to use vCO to practice and integrate this type of workflow in vCAC!

    Thanks for all your help!

    VM.config.version - where vm is a VC:VirtualMachine object... results will be something like 10 - vmx, vmx-09, etc... You can then base your logic on these results.

  • Graphics upgrade Dell Studio XPS 435MT

    Model: Studio XPS 435MT
    Processor: Intel Core i7
    Memory: 8 GB
    OS: Windows 64-bit
    Case: In Stock (never did a switch box but would be ready)

    Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 4350 512 MB 2
    Power: 550w (honestly the first upgrade I did)

    I pulled a lot of games for this thing, and it has served me very well. I am looking to do an update of basic graphics card but want to stay under $ 300.00, I don't want to go too big or too hot for the system (or unnecessarily powerful but I'm okay with that, like if this happens).

    I am also ready to increase the ram, but once again to 8 GB I don't know if I'd get a vein off going up to 16 GB, but at the end of the day it's a learning experience and the installation is always fun.

    Also, I'm ready to tell is don't bother, if it would be better to buy a new system, so I can actually consider doing that but shaped why can't not ask like you people seem quite knowledgeable GD.

    EPS 12V 2.91 compliance means you should be able to use most of the maps, if the power supply is really high spec.
