  • I am curious about OEM vs. retail and retail sales are expensive but OEM work on any pc or only specific PC

    I have a question for OEM, my computer is a HP pavilion ze2000 since 2004 there windows 10 pro about it right now but it has not enabled which means no product key so im going to buy sp1 windows 7 pro 32 bit from a seller on amazon called MC OUTLETS:

    http://www.Amazon.com/GP/AW/d/B014E4FBCO/ref=mp_s_a_1_13?QID=1461169711&SR=8-13&PI=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=Windows+7

    and I don't know if I should buy the OEM because one seller sells me is maybe not for my brand of pc and I want to be sure what im buy so I don't waste money, buy windows 7 which can be for lets say dell and I have a hp so I don't get stuck with the purchase of this product just to get the product key , so I can reinstall windows 10 must be enabled. And please don't tell me to buy the commercial version because I do a lot of cash right now I can only which means that ONLY afford OEM please tell if this seller is legitimate and if this product would work on my brand of pc which is a HP pavilion ze2000

    I wouldn't recommend that you buy from a dealer, especially the amazon market place.

    Because Windows 7 is in limited stock because Microsoft ended sales in October 2013, this created demand due to its rarity. This means the retail boxed copies request a bonus, while the OEM System Builder copies remain affordable.

    Full version (retail):

    -Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

    -Does not require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

    -Expensive

    Upgrade version (detail):

    -Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

    -require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

    -Expensive, but less expensive full version

    OEM System Builder version:

    The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

    -OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

    -OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

    -OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

    -OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

    There is nothing wrong to use it too, especially that all future versions of Windows will be full versions.

    You can find software OEM System Builder of dozens of online merchants. The current price for OEM Windows 7 Professional Newegg, for example, is $ 140. When I checked a few minutes ago, Amazon offered packages OEM Windows 7 Professional from several vendors at prices ranging from $ 101 to $ 150. When I checked earlier, a package specifically designed for reconditioned PCs cost only $ 50 for a 64-bit copy.

    There is no technical limitation to prevent you from using OEM software on your computer, although this software only works for a clean install, not an upgrade. In the past, Microsoft has been remarkably inconsistent in his advice to clients on the question of whether this practice is allowed. (See "is allowed to use Windows OEM on your own PC? Don't ask Microsoft. »)

  • Satellite A100 - 521 RAM upgrade only works with original RAM in place

    I am trying to upgrade the memory to 2 GB, as described in the user manual.

    The computer does not start with the two new modules inserted. It will start with 1 GB installed in each slot until the original 256 MB module is inserted in the drive on the right, but does not work when the two 1 GB modules are inserted. There are 2 slots and the maximum is 2 GB for this computer. It told me to update the BIOS that I have on this site, but did not work.

    I am currently using 1 modules of 1 GB and 256 MB provided with the computer module. I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-521.

    Hello!

    The two new modules have the same specifications as the old module?

    In my opinion, the new modules are perhaps not fully compatible with your laptop or are not compatible in Dual Channel mode.
    What is the exact label of the two modules?

    For the upgrade, you need DDR2-533 modules. I searched a bit using Google and the reference is PA3411U-1M1G.

  • El Capitan upgrade - Search works do not by post office or iCal

    I saw a lot of people have this problem with no solution. Since I upgraded to El Capitan, my search function does not correctly work in Mail or iCal. It works for some elements (it seems to work for older items, but not new), but my work requires that it works for ALL. It is severely disabling me on an hourly basis. I tried all the patches that suggest the forums - reconstruction, re-indexing, etc.. Nothing works. Is there a solution? I'm pulling my hair out.

  • HP pavilion p6777c: what upgrades would work better with my system

    I have a Hp Pavilion p6777c and I love the update for my children and a woman who plays world of warships, world of tanks and of second life what hardware upgrades can I do and stay within my budget of less than 400 dollars?

    Indy76, welcome to the forum.

    The processor is good.  I do not recommend change.  You can add more memory.  This is recommended by Crucial memory memory .  In addition, if you want to increase the speed, a new SSD better.  The essential link, he recommends SSD.  The MX200, 250 GB, SSD for $99 would be very good.  There is a guide for upgrading to a 2.5 "SSD in to the lower left corner of the page.  You would need an adapter to install a 2.5 SSD "in a 3.5 drive Bay".  If Crucial recommends they guarantee that it will work.

    If you upgrade the video card, you will also need to upgrade the power supply (PSU).  The most recent video cards require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  The last series of video cards that does not need UEFI was the GT of the 640.  If you like the card, I recommend that you contact EVGA Tech Support (1-800-880-3842) in order to ensure that it will work on your computer.

    I love Of the PSU from Corsair.  I recommend at least 500W.  It would give you some excess power for maximum use.  The one in the link is modular.  It allows you to use only the necessary cables for a better air circulation.

    Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • 4-1043CL ENVY: ENVY 4-1043CL 10 upgrade Windows - works VERY slow, suspicious cache drive does not

    Hi there - put on day of Windows 7 64-bit of Windows 10.  Update seems to be fine - no errors, the system starts and 10 Windows deskop seems to struggle and work - but performace is terrible compared to Windows 7.  The start-up takes ~ 2:15 for the desktop to appear first, then ~ 3:30 total for applications to load (hourglass disappears).  Firefox takes ~ 1:30 to open go icon click to show my Yahoo home page.  MUCH longer than using Windows 7.

    I suspect that the cache of 32 GB drive configuration have not upgraded correctly.  I have uninstalled and installed the latest drivers Intel RST (dated 26/08/2015, using SetupRST.exe from the Intel download site) - the Intel RST icon finally appears in the system tray and wrote that the RST is running correctly.  Intel RST is enabled in the BIOS.

    Thoughts welcome - thanks!

    Update: swapped stock a new SSD HARD drive (500 GB, but a 240 GB should be fine for most), removed the drive to boost 32 GB mSATA (is more necessary since the main drive is SSD), and did a clean install of Windows 10.  This laptop now works fine.

    BTW, the one feature that does not have a driver through the W10 std install in Device Manager appears to be satisfied by the «HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection Software» fashion

    This notebook should be good for a few years.

  • Vista Windows anytime upgrade not working - I get what I paid for this key?

    I bought an upgrade to vista ultimate anytime last week at an online retailer and I learned the reason why it is not working is because microsoft no longer allow updates under vista.  the seller will not accept a return because I opened the disc folder, then is it possible for me to share this key for a windows 7 key is there a scenario 'you are out of luck' and I have to eat what I paid for it and I still have to buy a package of upgrade of windows 7?

    Well, it isn't true.  A true Anytime Upgrade DVD of Windows Vista and the appropriate product key can easily perform an upgrade.  What specific problem are you experiencing?

  • Re-create the delayed data post-upgrade migration work?

    Hi all

    After setting up our new 12 c SGO (approach-system-2, which is both an old and new are running at the moment), I spent a number of test for the new OMS12 machines and performed the work of migration of data charges and deferred taxes.
    Delayed data migration job "metrics" has failed, and - unfortunately not check documentation first - I killed the work failed because I hoped that this would enable me to restart.

    Oracle documentation:
    "To revive a failed job, click the status icon to the work page. On the page of work performed, click on change. On the Edit < JobName > work page, click on submit to rerun the task. »

    Now I can revive neither labour nor the system seems to be able to recreate - y at - it a possiblity of getting this job back in there? Or maybe run it at least manually? Historical metrics data collected has been one of the reasons that we have decided to approach system-2 in the first place, and go through the process of establishing WHO 12 once seems excessive to us.

    Every help is very appreciated!

    Of performance (or re-track/restart) the DDMP process manually in a 2 EM GC 12 c upgrade/migration system. Use the following anonymous PL/SQL:

    Start
    em_metric_data__upgtmprl.migrate_all_partitions;
    end;
    /

    In one EM GC 12 c upgrade/migration system, use:

    Start
    em_metric_data__upgtmprl.migrate_all_partitions (true);
    end;
    /

    You only be able to run a single instance of this at the time, so if you try to run it and the background thread is actually still there, it will be ineffective and go back to the SQL prompt.

    To see a timeline of all errors during DDMP or Active Directory Management PACK, run the SQL code following in the 12 c EM GC as SYSMAN repository:

    Select * from mgmt_system_error_log where module_name = 'UPGRADE-MDM'
    occur_timestamp desc order;

  • Upgrade process works on Snow Leopard, fails on Lion

    So I bought the upgrade to 7.0.1 (PPC version) on my old Mac Book Pro under Snow Leopard, Acrobat X. It installed correctly and accepted the old license on my older machine, which is loaded with the (7.0.1) OS version that supports always code PPC. However, I can't seem to load and accept the license even on the new machine. Because I can not install the old copy from Adobe on my new machine, as Lion can't stand not all PPC apps, the new upgrade fails. I tried to copy the old product more to my new machine just to see if something in the code would allow new software to find, but it fails.  To be clear, it * works * on my old laptop, so old my mother in law license was valid (I was worried she might be licensed to teaching or something). But it will not accept the old license on my new laptop. Does anyone know a solution to this? A kind of workaround? Adobe can provide me with a valid license that does not require this old code, since in the future, I'm having this same problem on newer machines?

    Well, that is a good question. I liked the idea of being able to open and edit PDF files that people could send me. PDF to Word and Excel.

    But for the life of me, I have not needed more than maybe once in recent years. I sold the computer today and let the application on this subject, with the warning that he cannot be upgraded. Overall, I think that Adobe does a good job of customer service, on equal footing with Apple, in my humble OPINION, and my experience is pretty much an outlier. I assume that in the world of statistical analysis, they can afford to have me have an experience like that, because it is unlikely to be repeated much. If it was 2 k $, I could have raised a little more than a line. For example, its legal application of Framemaker, is completely unable to be upgraded at this stage. Thus all writing she did must be retyped so let's revive old books it publishes. Maybe we can send to the India since no one seems to want to support jobs in America more (G). Adobe seems not to want to upgrade funds, and so it goes. In any case, we consider this case closed. If I'm a little irritated, it's a minor issue and not a rant. Detective Conan.

  • Qosmio X 770-00 X - 16 GB (2x8gb 1333 MHz Kit) SODIMM upgrade - it works!

    This isn't a question, but the answer to a question that I couldn't find the answer to. I went to the computer just today and have to try before you buy a 16 GB Kit of SODIMM DDR3 1333 MHz memory today. It works beautifully.

    After exhausting the internet looking for someone who had done that, I'm happy to say that I'm probably the first to publish the success. I hope that others can learn from this and so successful.

    The SODIMM is memory Corsair CMSO8GX3M1A1333C9

    Next week I'll try the 8 GB (2x4gb) Kit of Kingston HyperX 1866 MHz C11 memory and see what kind of performance increases can be made.

    Thank you very much for your report. Please post the result with the Kingston modules.

    Hello ladies and gentlemen,

    I have a HP pavilion 6835

    It has only 2 slots = memory and there are currently 2 simms 128 MB and 256 MB = and the computer works fine

    Recently, I bought two - 256 mb chips bringing the total to 512 MB.

    I put the memory and it doesn't now although the post test works by saying that it recognizes 511 MB of memory during the test of Post. (Yes its 100 mhz, synchronization, CL2 memory), and then it restarts itself. To do this, this reboot cycle and Post test over and over again, until you stop it.

    It works !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I've updated the BIOS (from 2.0 something (from 2000) this version 3.07 2001 or something I think.

    Followed the instructions in the Readme file for the update of the Bios.

    Add memory (256 MB strips)

    And it starts upui the first time without problem.

    I thank you for your patience and continues to offer solutions, when it seemed hopeless. You are all a great examples for how to help someone fix their HP computer.
