Upgrade of the 5000 series processor Laptop Inspiron 15

Hello!

Can I put my Inspiron 5558 with a quad core CPU? If so, with what has been tested?

Concerning

Although there are versions of this expedition of model with quad core CPU, a few considerations:

The CPU is soldered to the system board, so the card mother set must be replaced to upgrade.  This has two consequences:

1. it's expensive - think more of 50% of the initial cost of the system, and

2. it cancels any warranty remaining on the system.

With anything other than the very high quality of our days laptops, the CPU is not extensible - except for one very little other high-end work stations and games books, half-bridge processors that can be upgraded are a thing of the past.

The dv7 series is a challenge even for experienced laptop technicians. There are several boards of sup and ribbon cables going in all directions. The T9800 will agree and will work on any one of the motherboards in the manual that you apparently (let me know if not) and will greatly increase the WEI on the processor. She is always equivalent to most of the i3 processors.  The HD 4650 is going to be a pretty big improvement on the HD 4530. But that's like saying I'd rather have a 1964 Chevrolet as a 1953 Chevrolet... nor is technologically current as for video cards go. Current demanding games will exceed the 4650's powers.

I checked partsurfer for two motherboards that you list and I checked the manual. There is widespread confusion. PartSurfer lists the jury 294 as a "UMA" or integrated graphics subsystem, and lists the 293 Commission that the use of dual core AMD processors. Something is not good and frankly I would waive the exchange of motherboard, but if you really want to try let me know and I'll try to clear up the confusion.

    A T9800 is about $35.

  • HP Pavilion p7-1254: upgrade to the best possible processor for my motherboard

Hello, I so had a question about upgrading my processor. I looked at the HP site on my motherboard and I saw all the processors possible it could support. However, I just had a question for whether or not he could support this specific CPU, even if it is NOT on the list:

    AMD A8 - 3870K APU with AMD Radeon 6550 HD Graphics unlocked 3.0GHz Socket FM1 100W processor Quad-Core - retail - AD3870WNGXBOX

At the moment my processor is: AMD A6 - 3620 APU with graphics Radeon (TM) HD (4 CPUs), ~2.2GHz

If the motherboard can support a 8 A 3850 APU, I think that the A-8 3870 K wouldn't be too far, but still, I'm not sure that's why I'm here. If there are better options than the image AMD Llano A8-3850, please share with me and let me know!

Thank you very much for your answers!

You must take the manual at face value. Other processors not listed may work, but it is at your own risk. I would setup just high processor you are sure will work. The A8-3850 will be a vast improvement on the A6. The A8 - 3870K would be faster,.1 right ghz... 2.9 vs 3.0 ghz?

  • HP Envy 15: Is there a way to upgrade/boost the graph of my laptop?

Hello, I have a problem with my laptop, I can't play my favorite video games I wish I could, because the graph of my laptop is not strong. I'm certainly not an expert either, but it is possible to go the DIY route.

  • The upgrade of the graphics capabilities of laptop HP Compaq 6735 s

I recently bought a 6735 s and I am interested in the possibility of improving the graphics capabilities of the machine.

    The chipset motherboard for this model is the ATI 780 G (http://www.amd.com/us-en/0, 3715_15532_15533, 00.html #780 G).

A characteristic of this chipset, it supports "ATI Hybrid Graphics", allowing thus the 3200 integrated core work in conjunction with an extra card to 3400 dedicated.

This feature is also described here:-http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Radeon-HD-3200.9591.0.html

I have a couple of requests related to this: -.

    (1) is this laptop provides plenty of internal space & all the connections needed to add a card to Radeon 3400 series?

    (2) the extension of the ATI AXIOM interface or the more generic is MXM?

    (3) where would I go to get such a card?

    (4) the installation of such a card cancels my manufacturer's warranty 1 year? (according to my own research, this seems almost certainly yes)

    See you soon,.

Here is a link to the bible MXM. Your laptop is not a MXM and as much as I know there no graphical upgrade:

    http://www.MXM-upgrade.com/table.html

Here is your service manual which shows the bowels in their entirety:

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/CoreRedirect.jsp?redirectReason=DocIndexPDF & prodSeriesId = 3687621 & targetPage=http%3A%2F%2Fbizsupport2.austin.hp.com%2Fbc%2Fdocs%2Fsupport%2FSupportManual%2Fc01613452%2Fc01613452.pdf

Laptops don't usually not all the features of the chipset office corresponding, and only implement a few paltry laptops have upgradeable graphics. Usually, you can buy a laptop with graphics that you want to have for the life of the laptop, not with the idea of adding something better, once you get it.

The feature you're talking about is power Xpress and it allows you to move from the integrated graphics to a video card dedicated to the fly without a reboot, but it works in Vista, as you noted. It is one of the characteristics of the Centrino 2 platform, or at least the possibility to implement is. Fujitsu has just released computers laptops thanks to this feature (very expensive) and others are about to do, but I do not think that HP released a still.

nVidia also has a similar option and he was released at least a Sony Vaio, I think.

Here's the top of the line laptops and dual video option must be built the factory. It is not a feature added.

  • Upgrade of the T61p Widescreen processors

    Hi all

I have a T61p a few years ago now and I look at improvements in spare parts.

Currently, it is a 2.5 GHz T9300 Intel Core 2 duo, which I learned is a Socket P processor, named "Penryn", 800 MHz FSB.

If possible, I would like to know of all the compatible processors, so I can setup a notch.

    If it's any help, I currently have 4 G Ram (upgrading to 8) and a secondary market 320 G.

Also, if anyone knows where I can find an old ultrabay compatible HARD drive I would be grateful.

    Thank you all!

You already have top of the line CPU th, there is nothing better for your laptop. The T9xxx should be more than for most applications.

UltraBay can use either PATA or SATA hdd, you just need an adapter, you can buy through ebay.

    Hey,.

There are several laptops Toshiba with 15 screen I think that the important point is the price because other requirements such as 2 GB RAM, 200 GB, etc are no problem. Most laptop have 4GB or more of RAM and also tough with more disk space.
Moreover the Intel Core i3 processor is standard CPU at the moment, some models have a Core i5

Take a look at Satellite C650, L650 and L750. These models are to fundamental factors such as Internet, music, videos and simple games.

You can compare all models on the official page of Toshiba:

  • The upgrade of the SSD on my laptop from Alienware 17

Hello. I just got my new laptop Alienware 17 game and so far, I am VERY impressed with its performance. Frame rates are amazing in everything I tried, and it remains very cool compared to my laptop XPS15. It has a 'boot' of 256 GB drive and a dish of 5 400 rpm 1 TB disk for storing data.

I want to improve the SSD 256 GB for a 1 TB SSD. I bought the 1 TB SSD and cloned the 256 GB for it. I opened the laptop according to the manual and looked at the "primary" hard disk, expected to be the 256 GB SSD but rather what I found in this slot machine is the data of 5 400 rpm 1 TB drive. Research in the 'secondary' Bay, I see that it is empty. I can't put anything I want on the 256 GB SSD, that's why I bought the 1 TB SSD. Where the 256 GB SSD, and how will install the SSD 1 TB as primary drive (boot)?

I also intend to upgrade the flat disc at 1 to 7 200 RPM SSHD (Solid State Hybrid Drive) after the SSD upgrade. I need first of all put the SSD well. Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks for listening, and I'll be happily play until I can find an answer.

    Best,

    Marc

Here's what I decided to do:

Keep the record of 256 GB m2 for start-up and cache. The CT 1 SSD is the main location for my apps and games. I removed the disc 5 400 rpm and put a 1 to 7 200 RPM SSHD in the secondary location. The 5 400 1 TB drive is now in surplus but can be used for other purposes. Everything seems to work properly.

Thanks for all your comments, it's much appreciated.

    Best,

    Marc

  • How to open my card reader to insert the card multimedia on my new laptop inspiron 17r

I have a small door on the front of my laptop (Inspiron 17r). I feel stupid, but how to open to insert my camera media card?

If this is the same as that on my new Dell Vostro and it looks like a slot in plastic, you just press the plastic slot and release. A dummy plastic card can then be eliminated completely to allow you to put real in memory card.

This is not the best design in the world - its won't be long before I lose the fake plastic card.

I have first items 13, recently installed on a new laptop of Dell Inspiron 17 5000 Series. The program works very well. However, when I have access to the program, I get a message that there is an update available, 13.1. I let him go ahead and do the update before using the program. RTA,

Thank you very much for your answers. As you suggest, I went to the help/updates and found that 3 points were scored update, Manager, 13 Photoshop and first elements 13 elements. On a hunch, instead uncheck one of them, I thought I'd see what would happen to let update all 3. It took a while, but, long story short, stopped the happy Vangogh and everything seems fine. • New laptop (Dell Inspiron 14 5000 series) with really bad internet

Hi, I bought a couple of new portable weeks. the laptop as you can tell by the title is a dell inspiron 14 5000 series. It includes the pilot is an Intel processor dual band wireless - 3160 AC. The problem I have is that the internet is very slow. I get 1 Mbps when I'm in my room, but when I stand right next to the router, I get my normal Mbps which is 20 Mbps. I did some research on the resolution of this issue and the most common responses I got of to get a wired connection (if I do that, I might as well have a pc) and download the new driver (2 x 2). I also changed my HT Mode for people with reduced mobility that works, but the internet connection is really bad (5 Mbps). Now my action is to obtain a new driver, but just to be sure there is a way to fix my internet connection?

I know this isn't the internet from the internet on the other laptops work perfectly fine. And I'll be back on the laptop but unfortunately my 2 weeks are up.

Return the machine if you can.

The problem you are having is a common feature of this series of machines from Dell. Dell staff does not recognize the problem and no solution is guaranteed. Just search the forum for yourself.

  • Upgrade memory for Inspiron 13 5000 series (2 in 1)

Hi, this may sound a stupid question, but I recently got at the entrance of range Inspiron 13, 5000 series (i3, 4 GB of Ram). I want to upgrade the memory because it is a bit slow. Site of Dell, said that this model has only a single Ram slot. I said he made two. I am a clumsy oaf and don't want to open the case unnecessarily (and break these clumsy little clicky "lips"). Can someone tell me if there is a crack or two?

I ask because, if there is just one, I'm going to 16, if it's two, I'll go for a 8 make a total of 12.

    See you soon,.

    Dave

If it is an Inspiron 5368 (more recent 2-in-1 from Aug 2016), it will take up to two 8 G DDR4 SODIMM, total g 16.

There are other models of this series with different memory configurations, so check that yours is a 5368 before purchasing memory:

  • Dell Inspiron 5000 Series (is it ok to let trendy or not because the battery is intact and cannot be deleted)

    Hello

This dell inspiron 5000 series for use with batteries that can not be delete. Once its full do I have unplugged and just plugged in a time vacuum or simply leave it plugged? I want that its battery to last longer.

    Thank you ~!

don't know what type of battery you have. but, I spent time to research on my machine before you purchase it. and according to a bunch of Web sites, the most recent (not sure how much newer) lithium cell batteries have a much longer lifetime, unlike those of 4 or 5 years ago. and the Dell machines are made so you can leave plugged in as much as you want. because as soon as the battery is recharged, the battery is not circumvented, therefore no wear on them when it is plugged.

hope that it will be quite simple.

Can someone help me out here?

You will first need to go to the website of manufacturers for your model computer and first find out if there are native drivers in Windows 7. A large number of computers that are preloaded with Windows 10 do not pilot have native support for Windows 7 by the manufacturer. If there is no native driver, you will need to consider returning the machine and buying a machine preloaded with Windows 10 Pro with downgrade rights to Windows 7 Professional. Or look through the catalogue of manufacturers for systems already preloaded with Windows 7, usually the business sector will have these options.
