  • HP Pavilion p7-1254: upgrade to the best possible processor for my motherboard

Hello, I so had a question about upgrading my processor. I looked at the HP site on my motherboard and I saw all the processors possible it could support. However, I just had a question for whether or not he could support this specific CPU, even if it is NOT on the list:

    AMD A8 - 3870K APU with AMD Radeon 6550 HD Graphics unlocked 3.0GHz Socket FM1 100W processor Quad-Core - retail - AD3870WNGXBOX

At the moment my processor is: AMD A6 - 3620 APU with graphics Radeon (TM) HD (4 CPUs), ~2.2GHz

If the motherboard can support a 8 A 3850 APU, I think that the A-8 3870 K wouldn't be too far, but still, I'm not sure that's why I'm here. If there are better options than the image AMD Llano A8-3850, please share with me and let me know!

Thank you very much for your answers!

You must take the manual at face value. Other processors not listed may work, but it is at your own risk. I would setup just high processor you are sure will work. The A8-3850 will be a vast improvement on the A6. The A8 - 3870K would be faster,.1 right ghz... 2.9 vs 3.0 ghz?

  • dv7t-2000: upgrade of the motherboard and processor for dv7t-2000

I currently have a dv7t-2000 with [email protected] and ATI mobility Radeon HD 4530 discrete graphics with 512 MB dedicated memory.

I want to upgrade the processor and the motherboard to improve its performance and its Windows experience index (lowest value is the graphics card with destop performance for windows aero).

    My question is

    (1) are the best processors listed in the manual dv7t as Intel Core 2 Duo T9800 2.93 GHz parts 507951-001 and other compatible.

    (2) can I replace the current Board system with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 discrete graphics with 1 GB dedicated memory?  What is the difference between parts # 516294-001 516293-001 against?  The two identical descriptions a.

Is it useful to upgrade (i.e. it would improve windows performance index)?

Is it easy to replace the motherboard?  All the specialty tools?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The dv7 series is a challenge even for experienced laptop technicians. There are several boards of sup and ribbon cables going in all directions. The T9800 will agree and will work on any one of the motherboards in the manual that you apparently (let me know if not) and will greatly increase the WEI on the processor. She is always equivalent to most of the i3 processors.  The HD 4650 is going to be a pretty big improvement on the HD 4530. But that's like saying I'd rather have a 1964 Chevrolet as a 1953 Chevrolet... nor is technologically current as for video cards go. Current demanding games will exceed the 4650's powers.

I checked partsurfer for two motherboards that you list and I checked the manual. There is widespread confusion. PartSurfer lists the jury 294 as a "UMA" or integrated graphics subsystem, and lists the 293 Commission that the use of dual core AMD processors. Something is not good and frankly I would waive the exchange of motherboard, but if you really want to try let me know and I'll try to clear up the confusion.

    A T9800 is about $35.

  • Upgrade of the T61p Widescreen processors

    Hi all

I have a T61p a few years ago now and I look at improvements in spare parts.

Currently, it is a 2.5 GHz T9300 Intel Core 2 duo, which I learned is a Socket P processor, named "Penryn", 800 MHz FSB.

If possible, I would like to know of all the compatible processors, so I can setup a notch.

    If it's any help, I currently have 4 G Ram (upgrading to 8) and a secondary market 320 G.

Also, if anyone knows where I can find an old ultrabay compatible HARD drive I would be grateful.

    Thank you all!

You already have top of the line CPU th, there is nothing better for your laptop. The T9xxx should be more than for most applications.

UltraBay can use either PATA or SATA hdd, you just need an adapter, you can buy through ebay.

  • Upgrade of the 5000 series processor Laptop Inspiron 15

    Hello!

Can I put my Inspiron 5558 with a quad core CPU? If so, with what has been tested?

    Concerning

Although there are versions of this expedition of model with quad core CPU, a few considerations:

The CPU is soldered to the system board, so the card mother set must be replaced to upgrade.  This has two consequences:

    1. it's expensive - think more of 50% of the initial cost of the system, and

    2. it cancels any warranty remaining on the system.

With anything other than the very high quality of our days laptops, the CPU is not extensible - except for one very little other high-end work stations and games books, half-bridge processors that can be upgraded are a thing of the past.

BTW ive seen a P100 with double HD or something I want to know if it is possible with mine or I just read wrong '-_-

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Filipe

Generally, the upgrade of the CPU is not very easy on laptops and undesirable. In my knowledge Toshiba doesn't supports CPU upgrade and you will lose the warranty if you open Notepad.

As far as I know the microprocessor used in the Satellite P100 series (Intel Platform) will be different by the model.
    It supports the following processors:

    Intel Core Duo T2300(1.66GHz); T2400(1.83GHz); T2500 (2 GHz); T2600(2.16Gz); T2700(2.33Gz) FSB: 667 MHz

Intel Core Solo T1400(1.83GHz); T1300(1.66GHz); FSB: 667 MHz

    Intel Celeron-M (Yonah core based) 410; 420; 430; FSB: 533 MHz

Hope I could bring this matter to light.

  • Upgrade of the Slimline s3040.uk processors

Hi, I want to spend the Athlon 64 X 2 3800 + processor current to a Phenom X 4 955 black edition and wonder if the existing radiator and fan should replace. Any help in this very appreciated

    Hello

The image shows a standard configuration of the Micro-ATX motherboard.  The image is of the motherboard of your PC. The fan & heater supplied with the processor is a no-go. Purchase a fan upgrade / radiator to replace it with. The new processor is designed to emit up to 125 Watts and the Athlon 64 X 2 3800 was a unit of 89 watts.

I wouldn't try using the original fan.heatsink on the new quad processor cpu.

  • What is the difference in processors for Macbook Air?

I currently have a 2012 13-inch Macbook Pro. Its processor is 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5.

I'm looking to get a new laptop, something more light, so I was watching the macbook air.

What is the difference between getting 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 and 2.2 GHz dual-core Intel Core i7? Other than the extra to upgrade $170. It is worth to pay that? I'm a student, so not really rolling in money.

I'll just use it for the usual, surf the web for research and social media, spotify, itunes library, large library, some photo editing, imessage. I feel that that's what most people are doing, then what is the best for the average man?

In addition, what is the significance in storage? I'm not sure what my mac pro has, but is it worth it to upgrade to the flash 512 GB PCle - based, storage or I couldn't stick with the 256 GB?

Account of your not doing much with your mac in addition to what is its main purpose, I recommend save money for a processor and possibly buy more RAM (Random Access Memory) it helps with multitasking like surfing on the web.

It also depends on the amount of memory you want. If your photos are of high quality and there are many, improved storage isn't bad.

  • Upgrade to the latest version of Firefox would cost me about $2,500 then why am I crazy?

I have a Mac G5 with OS 11.4.11. In order for me to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox, I have to install a new system. If I install a new system, I need to install new programs. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, GoLive and other CS programs, PowerPoint, QuarkXpress, and many others. I can't afford to upgrade. I like good Firefox but what I am, I'm supposed to do?

Firefox 4 and later requires a Mac with a processor Intel and OS X 10.6 (16 Firefox works on OS X 10.5).

For an unofficial ESR of 17.0 Firefox compatible version (TenFourFox) which works on Mac PowerPC with OS X 10.4.11 or OS X 10.5.8, you can consult:

  • Should I upgrade to the latest Mac OS?

So, here are the statistics of my iMac:

    21.5 inch, mid-2011

Processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7

    Memory 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Graphics  AMD Radeon HD 6770 M 512 MB

The last iMac I ran very slow when I updated the operating system most recent (well, he started slowly going at exactly the same time, I did) so I was a little reluctant to upgrade to the latest version. I can't find any particular final answer, so if someone could help me with a Yes or no, that would be great. Thank you.

Your Mac is fully compatible with OS X El Capitan, so it's possible and even recommended that you update.

However, if you are comfortable with what you have now and if you do want to use the new features introduced in El Cap, well, you can skip this version.

Below you will find the General presentation of the OS X ElCapitan.

  • Why used my upgrade to the Macbook Pro to El Capitan?

    Mackbook Pro15 inches

    MAC OS X 10.6.3

Processor Intel clocked at 2.66 GHz

    Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz

I deleted my Mac pro and restored to factory setting, when I bought my new and transferred the files too.

Works great just except for bad battery, but I keep it is plugged.

Whenever I try to upgrade to the new OS (El Capitan v10.11.2) MAC it will start downloading normally, then says 'updates downloaded successfully.

  • I have an iMac 2007 running osx 10.6, I would upgrade to the Mavericks.  I don't have an installation CD, how to accomplish this?

I have an iMac 2007 mid running osx 10.6 with 4 GB of Ram. I want to upgrade to the Mavericks, 10.9. I don't have the installation CD and the App store only allow me to upgrade El Capitan. I'm afraid that this will bring my iMac to a crawl. Any thoughts on how I can find an installation CD or recommend other methods to achieve this?

    Thank you

    Larry

Your model is eligible? You can install El Capitan now. There is no disk installer for use with OS X since the release of Snow Leopard. Why do you believe that El Capitan will bring your computer to a crawl, but the Mavericks will not?

If I were you I would stick with Snow Leopard, because it is more suitable for your old hardware. Note that Snow Leopard is needed in order to upgrade to Lion or later version.

    Upgrade to Snow Leopard

You can buy Snow Leopard at the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (US). The price is $ 19.99 plus tax. You will receive a physical media by mail after placing your order.

After the installation of Snow Leopard you will need to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Combo Update v1.1 update Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store lets you download Mavericks if your computer meets the requirements.

         General requirements for Snow Leopard

    1. equipped mac to an Intel processor

    2. the 1 GB memory

    3. 5 GB of available disk space

    4. DVD drive for installation

    5. some features require a compatible Internet service provider;

    charges may apply.

    6. some features require Apple iCloud services; fees and

    conditions apply.

    Upgrade to El Capitan

You can pass the Lion El Capitan or directly from Snow Leopard. El Capitan can be downloaded for FREE from the Mac App Store.

    Upgrade to El Capitan

To upgrade to El Capitan, you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or installed Lion. Download El Capitan from the App Store. Sign in with your Apple ID. El Capitan is free. The file is big enough, more than 5 GB, allow it some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

Mac that can be upgraded to OS X El Capitan

1 iMac (mid-2007 or newer) - model identifier 7.1 or later

2 MacBook (late 2008 or early 2009 or newer aluminium) - model identifier 5.1 or later

    3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

4 MacBook Air (late 2008 or newer)- model identifier 2.1 or later

5 mac mini (early 2009 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

6 mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

7 Xserve (early 2009) - model identifier 3.1 or later version

To find the identifier of the model open system information in the Utilities folder. It is displayed in the Panel on the right.

Hi, I recently bought a 500-559na for games desktop computer and want to upgrade the processor and graphics card. Currently, I have an i5 - 4460 and concentrated on processors i7 with 1150 taking online and wonder if they adapt and work? and if possible that someone have the specifications of the mobo here?

    Thank you guys

    Purplehaze031, welcome to the forum.

This is the page for Specifications of the motherboard of the computer.  Look at the "Processor upgrade information" section for the processors that have been tested to ensure they work with the motherboard.  Processors with a 'K' will not work.  The 'K' means that the CPU can be overclocked and HP does not allow for this to be done.
