Upgrade on Qosmio G30

Hello

I have a Qosmio G30
My question: can I add a map internal broadband to my laptop?

Thank you

Is an original card to slow down or what?
As far as I know that these improvements are not supported and cannot be done.

No, the graphics card can not be upgraded

What you can do, it is memory and the upgrade of the HARD drive. This should be very easy and should cause no serious problems.

    Upgrading CPU is little tricky.

  • Upgrade memory for Qosmio G30-201 of 2 GB to 4 GB

I want to buy 4 GB of memory upgrade to 2 GB.

What makes are compatible & reliaible. Any advice on Corsair, Kingston, Crucial, Transcend?

Several of these RMP sell "Value" ram under their own name - are these OK?

I have a Qosmio G30-201, with the following specifications:

    Technology Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile with Intel® Core 2 Duo processor T7400 - Genuine Windows® XP Media Center Edition - 400 (200 + 200) GB drive hard - 2 048 (1, 024 + 1, 024) MB of RAM DDR2 (533 MHz) - 17 "Toshiba TruBrite® TFT WUXGA screen-DVD - ROM HD player

    Running Vista Ultimate

    Best regards

Best thing you can do is to use Kingston memory modules. Kingston offers high quality products and using RAM Kingston you have no compatibility problems.

You can find good 2 GB for your Qosmio HEREmodules.

  • Upgrade HDD/SSD on Qosmio G30-126

I'm trying to decide if I should upgrade existing at a larger size HARD drive or just a large and an SSD.

Question 1: what is the size for the two new HARD drives because the power supply is limited?
Question2: For now, I run the two HARD a disc, so no RAID. Is it possible that I can determine what is on which drive? I do not envy the dumping everything on a drive connected and then import the new HARD disk.
Question3: Is there a substantial improvement in speed when using the SSD as a HARD drive? I run W7 professional and compared to Mint example startup is pathetically slow.

    Appreciate answers or suggestions.

    Hello

Qosmio G30 already supports SATA interface and so general, interface SATA has no capacity limit. If you can install a SATA 2.5 HARD drive with all the sizes. Ore of 500 GB drives is no problem on SATA interface so it s on applications and data based on what size you want / need.

If your laptop is capable of managing 2 hard/SSD drives, you can buy an SSD 128GB for example for Windows and your applications and a HDD (500 GB) for your data.

Disc SSD is faster than hard drives, but they are more expensive. SSD are perfect for the OS itself and programs but for data such as photos, music, etc. Hard drives are fast enough.

  • Re: How to upgrade memory on a Qosmio G30 - 201 and where to buy memory

    Hello

I have a Qosmio G30-201, with the following specifications:
    -Technology Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile with Intel® Core 2 Duo processor T7400 - Genuine Windows® XP Media Center Edition - 400 (200 + 200) GB drive hard - 2 048 (1, 024 + 1, 024) MB of RAM DDR2 (533 MHz) - 17 "Toshiba TruBrite® TFT WUXGA screen-DVD - ROM HD player

    Running Vista Ultimate

I want to upgrade the memory to 4096.

Do I have to buy memory 4096, or if I add 2048?

What memory to buy? Toshiba do not seem to sell MB RAM DDR2 (533 MHz) after 4 years. What other memory would be appropriate?

    Thank you very much

    Best regards

    Nick

Your laptop can handle with 4 GB of RAM and I recommend you to use the 2 x 2GB module.
Compatible 2 GB module has part number PA3513U-1M2G or Kingston KTT667D2 / 2G.

Put the shadow party in Google and you will find a place where you can order it in your country.

    What businesses would be recommended?
    Is the RAM200pin?
Its 533 mhz would be something higher cause a problem?

    Thank you

    Hello!

Why you n check t your user manual? You will find the denunciations, al you want to know.

However, the Qosmio G30 can be upgraded to 4 GB of RAM. Therefore, you must with 200pin laptop RAM and DDR2 533/667 MHz.
I have good experiences with the Kingston modules. I always use for the upgrade of my notebooks.

  • Qosmio G30-204 - upgrade of the WLAN card

    Hi people.

I currently have an Intel pro/Wireless 3945ABG Network card in my laptop. If I had to upgrade to a newer version, which we'd be one of the newest and best for my laptop?

And the new WiMax from Intel would work in the Qosmio G30 - 204?

    Hey Buddy,

The antenna is placed under the cover of the display and cables are placed under the keyboard or with other words, they are connected to the wireless network card.

By the way: an upgrade to the draft N standard is not possible. In my view an update of the WLAN card is not logical.

  • Qosmio G30-163: Core Duo T2500 Core 2 Duo T2500 processor upgrade?

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G30-163 which has 2.0 GHz Core duo. That I wonder if it is possible to change this processor to processor core 2 duo at the same speed or maybe a lil faster since the duo core 2 CPU produced less heat than core duo, I've heard...

Is guaranteed get trashed if I pay an official toshiba service bureau to replace the cpu?
Why I want to change the processor is think about running 64 bit OS that is not supported by core duo cpu, core 2 duo CPU does support 64-bit...

    Hello

Of course, everything is theoretically possible ;) but practice isn't very easy.
To my knowledge, Toshiba doesn't support any replacement of CPU and upgrades and so I don t think you will get a new BIOS specially for this laptop.

The F30 seems to be a new laptop. Therefore, you must know that you will lose your warranty if you open the notebook and remove the CPU!
In my view, it is not worth

  • Upgrade to Vista Edition Home Premium on Qosmio G30-116

I thought I had covered until after I started the upgrade of power. To see that there are still several drivers who did not prpoerly including the video card.

Also the test under icons was blurred. I tried several different approaches with clear Type etc. and increasin size but not luck.

    1. What is the best advice for the upgrade? is it still worth in waiting for toshiba to produce a package
    2. What are the recommendations for the establishment of siplays of Vista?

    Hello

First of all you need to know what are the right drivers for you unit.
It seems that the Qosmio G30-116 is a part of the PQG30E series. So if you're going to download all of the drivers that you must choose that number in the download form pilot!

I checked the Toshiba page and unfortunately, I didn't find that several drivers for Vista as RAID driver or stack of BT.

However, it seems that you must update the BIOS before installing Vista.

    But now for you questions:

    > 1. What is the best advice for the upgrade? is it still worth in waiting for Toshiba to produce a package
Well, I would recommend install clean Vista separately on a second partition.
And Yes, if you want to use the whole functions to wait for Vista drivers

    > 2. What are the recommendations for configuring Vista displays?
After the version of the graphics driver you should simply install it. The driver will choose the best settings.

  • Qosmio G30 - how to upgrade the BIOS?

    Qosmio G30 and Windows Vista

    Hello
I want to update BIOS and I fear that there is a risk that the way in which the process is done safely. Step by step please

    Thank you byee

    Hi vip78!

I agree with Akuma but another question: why you want to update the BIOS? As you already wrote this update is a bit risky and that s right so this update should only be done if you can see a few problems with the laptop. Otherwise I wouldn t do an update of the BIOS.

Maybe there is another solution for your problem ;)

  • Qosmio G30-204 - no sound after upgrading to Windows 7

I have a Qosmio G30 204, I installed Windows 7 Ultimate edition but I have no sound. I feel that she has a Sigmatel chipset onboard as a Codec has been installed.

Can anyone provide a link to some drivers who can actually work.

    Thank you very much
    H.

    Hello

You must visit the Toshiba Support Site.

Once there, you click on "Support", then "Download Drivers".

Specify in the drop-down list what brand/model of laptop you have and the operating system.

It will come with a large list of drivers for your laptop.

Find audio and download and run.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello

I did everything possible, downloaded Update got all drivers in place, yet the SIGMATEL HD DRIVER load well, but I have no sound, I see all this work, but there is no sound.
How could it, some say that his incompetence of vista... say yes I should get a computer laptop nother

    Please any help or trouble...

    Hello

Because you wrote here already the third time I tested the new installation of Vista on Qosmio G30-126, but the same PQG32E like yours.

I installed Vista ultimate and the sound works without installing the audio driver. Anyway to install sigmatel audio driver. Please after installation of Vista install package of added value in a first time. After doing this installation:
    -display driver,
    -driver sound,
    -Synaptics TouchPad Driver
    -Software Modem and so on.

I hope that everything will be OK.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Qosmio G30 (PQG31) - problem with cloned hard drives

    Hi all!

    * Qosmio G30-154 * (* PQG31 *).

Demo of the Qosmio has 2 hard drives with XP MCE (32 bit) installed on the primary.
    The RAID parameters are JBOD.
    BIOS is "newer" 3.90

I would try to upgrade the drives (without installing any OS) and... have a problem!
BSOD "Stop 0x0000007B" after 'clone with resizing' for the main HARD disk.

I read on [drivers Toshiba RAID | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=48489] also [how to integrate the AHCI driver when installing Windows XP | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9401AN0000R01.htm] and (or)

F6 (for all usb drivers) is not available to boot OS, sorry.

"cloned" drive is in line with the correct name of made in the BIOS. "Cloned" secondary drive works (with old primary school). How to get access to the new primary OS and loading cloned? Please, any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Hello

I think that the system cannot boot to the new HARD disk as the partition where the system is installed, was not marked as bootable system partition.

I recommend to insert the previous HARD drive and to start the laptop.
HARD drive new, cloned could be connected as an external HARD drive to a USB port.

Then you should go to disk management (right click my computer - manage-> management-> disk management computer)
Here you can see the HARD internal disk and the 2nd HARD drive connected to the USB port
Right-click on the partition (2nd HARD drive) where the Win XP has been installed and choose the partition as the system partition and mark it as active.

Then you could change the HARD drive again and could power the device in place. Usually, the system should boot to the top of the new marked system partition.

  • Qosmio G30-163 - update from XP to Win 7

Is this possible please? I downloaded the Windows Upgrade Advisor and he ran and he scored loads of applications. who does not work under Win 7.

It seems that this model is too old. I also checked the websites of Toshiba models supported for Win 7 and the G30 is not listed. Thank you.

    Hello

If you want to switch to Win7 I recommend doing a clean install of Win 7.
The Qosmio G30 drivers are listed on the page of European driver of Toshiba under the area of the Archive (in the product type click on archive).

But not all drivers Win 7 therein, but is not a big problem since Win 7 should install most drivers automatically

Toshiba tools missing as VAP (value added package), utility Support Flash memory card or even other Toshiba tools can be downloaded from the other series Qosmio G40 G50, but you must pay attention to a specific driver as the driver or Wlan poster
In this case, he must use the drivers that are made for chips built in Notepad
