Upgrade RAM Macbook 5.1 (2008)

I know that this kind was extinguished before cover...

But how much RAM can I add to my 5.1 MacBook (Late 2008)?

I read on the forums that 8 GB is possible, however, install 2 x 4 GB and my macbook won't boot to the top. If I install 1x4Go and let an original 1 GB (for a total of 5 GB) I have no problem, just a somewhat slow MacBook.

The 4 GB of ram are the same manufacturer, same specifications etc and it makes no difference which of the RAM, I am install (so not defective), or what crack I install them in.

Any help, ideas or advice in general will be really appreciated

Here you are:

Maximum memory 8. 0 GB (actual) 4.0 GB (Apple)
Memory locations 2-204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM

Understand that the 'real' is not a guarantee that 8 GBs will actually work. You must use the memory with the same characteristics as you see above. In some cases we work by trying the chips from different manufacturers who could exchange slots.

Of these two I'd certainly crucial that another option would be OWC - https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade/DDR3_13 33MHz_SDRAM

I used OWC modules in my late-2008 MacBook Pro (8 GB) for several years now without a single problem.

  • Advice/cost for the upgrade of MacBook Pro memory

I have a mid-2009 13-inch MacBook Pro. It has 2 GB of RAM and I want to update 8 GB of RAM. I heard it is expensive to have Apple install memory, but I really do not trust myself to install it alone! Does anyone have an idea of what it would cost (for the work of Apple and memory) for this upgrade? And if no Apple, anyone have any suggestions for qualified but cheaper alternatives? Thank you!!

    Dailey,

You can upgrade RAM yourself at a reasonable cost.

  • Leopard MacBook pro late 2008 - updated to update to snow leopard

I have a macbook pro late 2008 with leopard on updated to snow leopard, which is the best upgrade, that I can do without problems?

I upgraded to 8 GB memory and 500 GB MMX 200 ssd.  tTe upgrade was necessary because I installed el capitan and he absolutely killed my mac, so I got the diagnostics to find my drive was not hard.

I'll reinstall leopard and use my snow leopard updated, but to what extent until I can go without problems over?

In theory, it must be able to handle El Capitan. You can't really judge El Capitan performance enough if you ran it on a bad HARD drive.

Your only real options stay with Snow Leopard, goes to the mountain, which is still fairly recent, Lion or El Capitan.  I think most people would say that Lion (10.7) alone is not worthwhile.  Mavericks and Yosemite are no longer available unless you already have a copy.  Mountain Lion is no longer receiver update but is not a fall to the same extent (yet) by the developers of software under Snow Leopard.  Some claim that it is the operating system more acceptable from 10.6.  You can always buy a download code for it.

  • How well El Capitan will run on an old 15 "model of MacBook Pro"Late 2008"

One of my Macs is an old 15 "model of MacBook Pro"late 2008 ". I know that it supports El Capitan, but what I wonder is really run him El Capitan? What interests me is the user experience of real life?

My MacBook Pro is currently under Snow leopard 10.6.8 and it has 8 GB of RAM installed.

I thought maybe I could take an approach gently gently and install El Capitan on a different hard disk, or maybe partition the internal hard drive and install it on one of the partitions? Any thoughts on this approach?

My internal hard drive is a model 1 TB of Seagate hybrid.

    Thank you!

With 8 GB of ram, it will work fine. Install on an external drive or an internal partition is a wise option that you can get rid of it if it does not meet expectations. Be aware that some of your applications can work more like exceeding 10.6.8 Rosetta support has been dropped.

My iMac with 8 GB or RAM 2011 works very well with the 10.11.2 was last updated. It is up to you to decide. It should work perfectly on almost any new machine of 2015.

  • How long does it take for apple to upgrade ram?

I'm going to buy a macbook air 13 "and would increase the ram up to 8 GB 4 GB normal and I was wondering if when I go to the apple store to buy the mac, can I request the upgrade to 8 GB and they do it there or here? Or should he wait longer and I have to go back?

Are you planning to buy a new one, or have you bought?   If you plan to buy, buy directly at the exit the 8 GB version.   I don't think you can upgrade RAM with this model.

My Macbook Pro 2011 (start) 13 "has served me very well. I took the approach to resist many updates over the past 1.5 years).

However, in the last 6 weeks, it really began to slow down. I'm not too keen on the storage in the Macbook Pro 2015 options so not sure I want to buy immediately. Hi there @_Alexei_,.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that you are looking for more information on CPU and RAM upgrade options for your computer.  I'm happy to help you with this.

Looking at HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - specifications of the motherboard, IPISB-NK (Lavaca3-SB) for your computer, it lists the upgrade RAM and CPU information.

Supports up to 4 GB on 32 - bit * PC * PC 32-bit cannot resolve a full 4.0 GB memory.

Also, here is the CPU of the same document information:

TDP: Varies according to the processor

  • Tecra Z40 - A - the upgrade (RAM RAM)

    Hi all

Ordered little RAM to upgrade my Toshiba Tecra Z40 - A, but can not find, for the life of me, anything where you want to insert online.

I previously installed RAM under the keyboard (couple of clips holding it) and on the other, a small cover on the bottom, but the Z40 does not appear to be anywhere easily accessible.

Has anyone upgraded RAM on the Z40? Or is it a big no, no, because of the guarantee?

    Thank you
    Lance

Memory upgrade on this model Tecra is a bit complicated and, in my view, should not be done by the owner of the laptop. For some models of Ram upgrade can be done by the owner of the laptop and exact instructions how do proposed in document s user manuals, but not for your Tecra.

For full access to the RAM modules lower lid should be removed and it can be done by people of service only. If you do this alone you can void the warranty valid.
I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider in your country and ask for help or advice.

  • Portege 4000 - upgrade RAM & graphic card driver installation

I'm having some trouble with my Portege 4000 for the moment. I installed XP on a disk, but will no longer have that I have 256 MB of RAM...

-Have you tried 2 manufacturers but the PC133 512 is not compatible. However, my system has an IBM of PC100 256 chip, which was bought early last year, after much trial and error, and I wonder now if the motherboard will be more suited to the PC100 and PC133 non?

-Consider the options alternative to XP, 98SE or 2000 because they are lighter operating systems. I can put it on a spare drive (test). Is it possible to set up a partition for recovery CD Rom (which has 98SE) on this subject and have little space left over to install another Linux operating system or its Manager partition crushes everything?

-J' put another post for .exe drivers related to the display/vga for 98SE and 2000.

-Just for the record, not all Linux distributions seem to go back on the size of the screen, so it takes some work...

    Thanks much for any help.

    The protégé 4000 is compatible with the PC133 modules! AFAIK, you can upgrade RAM of this notebook 1 GB (1024 MB) and you can use these modules;
    PC133 512 MB (PA3108U - 1 M 51)
    PC133 256 MB (PA3086U - 1 M 25)
    PC133 128 MB (PA3085U - 1 M 12)

You can create partitions on the HARD drive using a 3rd party like Partition Magic 8 tool. I use this tool and it's really nice.
After you create 2 or three partitions on the HARD disk, you could install different OS (operating systems).
