Upgrade Windows 10 - saving files etc?
Hello
I have Windows 8, I would like to know when I go to Windows 10 if my files (frame), the images, the music and the basicallly if everthing will transfer through or do I have to save everything before I update?
In almost all cases, the data are updated without problem, but as always it's a good idea to backup your data if it is important for you

Why is upgrade Windows 10 - not Dell Vostro 3550 on the list of Dell?
I found this list on the Dell site that tells you if they tested a particular model for its ability to be upgraded to Windows 10. The Dell Vostro 3550 is not on the list of 20 Vostro models, some wearing low model numbers, some superiors. They will never test it?
If you try to upgrade, windows 10 copies files and then in the 2nd of three main sections of the upgrade (where you have this big circle in the middle of the screen), it just goes to a blank screen and then ceases all activity of the disc, and it becomes well hung. Of course, now the machine think operating system is win 10 and you cannot return to a recovery point 7 win. If you lost all of your data and applications and restore the image and then install the windows 7 208 updates and it takes like 8 hours total.
Looks like a similar problem that people with Vostro ranging from win 7 to win 8. Why not fix it.
Also, I fell into the same rabbit hole. But I realized quickly that it was a video problem and I hung on an alternative to the unit's LCD monitor... worked just fine, there has been able to do the update of bio and play with the drivers.

How to make file etc to appear in the windows that show my documents in Vista
I can't try to compress a folder and copy files in to electronic filing as the instructions I received from my school do not appear to work with exlporer windows Vista as the projection of Gizmo toolbar file etc. does not appear.
Is there another way to set up a tablet or record zip and copy files to it so that they do not appear as shortcuts and can be opened by another person?
I am desperately in need of a solution.
To make the menu bar appear temporarily, press the ALT key .
To make it look always:
- Press the ALT key .
- Click on Tools > Folder Options > view .
- Put a check mark in the box next to always show menus .
- Click OK .

I've attached a scan to an email, but it says "could not open the file C:\users\My Windows\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows |" Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\TQDLSO1A\etc, etc.
I'm probably not explaining my problem fairly - well, I scanned something in - I used Nuance Paperport. I have it attached to an email and sent to six people - including myself. I always open the attached file to make sure that the computer has sent the right thing. When I tried to open the attachment I got the message "cannot open the file - I have already sent you." I think that Norton Security got rid of the file I need. I think I will contact them. I tried to contact Nuance - but alas, my warranty has expired, so no help there unless I want to pay for it. If I can't have the problem solved through Norton, I will contact you again. Thank you very much for taking the time to try to help me. Have a great Thanksgiving action!

Your explanation was nice... that was my answer that failed.I was hoping that you would simply copy the scan of your temporary
Internet files folder and paste it on your desktop. Then you might
evaluate what is the problem. I thought that trying to open
with such a long way email could be a problem. And also... it's possible
be a file association problem. And it could be a matter of file size.I understand that you care why the attachment to the email
failure and I think you need to find what is the problem with the scan
before fastening will be successful. -
Can I delete the C:\users\radrhino\app data\local\microsoft\windows\temporary internet\files\content.ie5...etc without damaging my computer?
The error after I try to open a WMV file in an email shows the above that "the parameter is incorrect" and I can't open the wmv file.
Check the suggestions in discussions below:
You can also check what type of file has .wmv files.
Go to the control panel. Click default programs.
Click associate a file or Protocol with a specific program type.
Highlight .wmv and see what kind of program is to open these types of files.
By default, there are Windows Media Player. If it's another program, change to Windows Media Player and then try again to open the .wmv files.
Let us know if that helps.

I want to upgrade XP to 7. My machine got a C: and an onboard hard drive D:. (as well as a lot of CPU power) If I move all critical files on my D: drive, if they are not disturbed during installation of Windows 7 or what must I drag in a remote entity prior to completing the upgrade?
Also, I have to run 32 bit on my unit which is an installation option?
Thank you
original title: Windows 7 upgrade Question
Hello
I suggest you to move all of the critical files the D drive that won't cause any disruption during installation of Windows 7, so the installation would take on the C: drive

I am upgrading of Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit) for Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bit) - but getting stopped everytime I try, I end up with a dialog box stating: "Windows cannot copy files required for installation. The files may be damaged or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error Code Ox80070017.
What should I do to resolve this problem and allow full of Windows 7 installation? (my computer is a Compaq Presario V6000).
Hello
What installation media you are using?
Method 1:
Error 0 x 80070017 translates "CRC error" which means that the files that are copied from the disc are not making it to the hard drive with the same structure, which means that the 'original' the disk files are modified/changed/corrupted while being copied to the location of the 'destination' on your disk during Setup.
This usually means a bad DVD, or an error reading on the DVD player.
I suggest you follow the link and check.

Enable or disable Windows Firewall

WARNING: There may be loss of data through an analysis using firewall to eliminate the virus as appropriate
Method 3:
I also suggest you to follow the link and check.
Check your hard drive for errors

Important: When running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

Original title: upgrade Windows 10
I made an iso file for windows 10. I am waiting to upgrade until all the bugs are being developed. My question is: will the iso file of windows 10 still work to upgrade my computer to windows 7 after the date limit to install the free version?
The ISO will work after the date limit, but you can buy Windows 10 after the date limit, if you don't improve and activate it before that date.
Windows 10 is delivered as a service:
Windows July 10 release - build 10240
Windows Update 10 November - build 10586 (with many updates depuis.13,.29,. 36)
If you want to take advantage of the free offer, you must do so before July 29, 2016.
If you the newer versions are released before then, you can always download and install when it becomes available.
You could also install it now then download updates via Windows Update as soon as they are available.
Task of pre-required
When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

then

- How to: upgrade previous versions of Windows using the file ISO for Windows 10
then
- Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
- Reboot several times, and then try again.
- Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
- If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
- Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
- If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
- If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
- If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
- If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
- If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).

You did a backup before starting to update? If so we can help restore you.
From the looks of it (the 3 windows.old files) you have tried this at least 3 times.
Is there something in the windows of old files?
