Upgraded to Windows 7 and then downgraded back to Vista - ethernet not working, pilots it but says error Ethernet does not, code 10

My computer is a Vista desktop Dell Vostra.  I've upgraded to Windows 7 and did not like (a lot of my programs wouldn't run well on it) so I tried to demote him back to Vista.  Now my ethernet does not work.  The drivers are there, but he says won't work, code 10.  How can I fix it?  I can't solve the problems on the computer, because I have no network.

Hello

go to dell and get the latest drivers for vista for your machine using one, you're on to get here

Save the drivers for the flash player and then transfer them

  • I have upgraded to windows 10, reformatted then and then realized my Tbird profile backup folder has no mail, no book of addresses, etc. is there hope?

I have recently upgraded to windows 10 and then reformat the computer, by using the backup and restore of Windows 10, programs advance so-called instructions to copy the profile to a USB for Thunderbird folder. Obviously I did something wrong, because there is not much there in the profile... folder no mail, no address book, a bunch of cache.x files that are for most empty and I did not notice that after reformatting. Is there a way to recover my old profile? Otherwise, I have at least one backup of the 2010 profile... (... sniff...)

I managed to fix it.  I found the Mr. Fix It tool on the Microsoft Web site and who was running, and it worked.  He fixed the corrupted registry file and allowed me to install the player.  I had tried it once before, but it has not been successful.  This time, it worked.

  • I want to uninstall the upgrade of windows 7 and go back to Vista.

This device comes preinstalled with Vista so that I only have the recovery disks that I made when I first set up the computer.  How can I uninstall the upgrade of windows 7 and reinstall Vista?

    BogeyB,

If you have made a real upgrade (overlay on Vista), you might be surprised.  Click on the computer and open the D Recovery drive.  Open the folder named Recovery. Look at the bottom left corner.

What is the date of creation?  Mine is from 2007.  I do not superimpose WIN 7 until 2011, but the recovery is still 2007.

It's actually your full version of Vista recovery... it didn't get deleted or altered, except if you did.

  • can someone walk me through the installation of windows 98 and then upgrade (SE) then the upgrade xp off that?

any help would be appreciated - we could even make it through the registration form if it would make it easier

You don't need to install 98 98SE then XP!  Just start with XP and when he wants to for validation qualification just previous OS Exchange temporarily the XP for the 98 or 98SE CD-ROM and then swap back the XP disc to continue.  You can also do the same thing with the ISO Images as well.

  • What I forbid my computer before you upgrade to Windows 10 and the format remains the same?

I don't want to do the free update for Windows 10 and I don't want to know that I should have cancelled the computer before doing so.  Then iTunes sees this as a new computer and I have to reauthorize the 10 version of windows.

Withdraw the authorization before upgrade you. He can do no wrong. The library itself should be preserved through the upgrade but see your iTunes for Windows with SyncToy library backup to get advice on the backup of your library and other data. You should back up regularly and particularly before any major change to the system.

  • IM using Windows XP Profesional, can I upgrade to Windows 7 and what would be the cost?

upgrade windows xp to windows 7

IM using windows xp profesional can I upgrade to windows 7 and what would be the cost? what I have to put all my files on an external drive then uninstall windows xp then put in windows 7 then put back my files? is that how its done? Thank you.

First the cost, you must know if your hardware can support Windows 7

In General win 7 should a minimum og 1 gig of ram (for 32 bit) or 2 for 64-bit, and it needs a video card 256 MB or greater.

If your less and can not be updated it may be best to start thinking about a new computer.

If the above is ok there are various offers for win 8, but make sure you buy form a reliable site of Ms.  There are a lot of current scams.

    Good luck

  • I try to upgrade to Windows 10 and downloading still failing. I get the following error message: 802400B,.

I try to upgrade to Windows 10 and downloading still failing. I get the following error message: 802400B, which means that it can not read one of the files required to download (update manifest). The recommended windows fix did not work. What should I do? Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

You can try the upgrade manually:

    Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

    then

    then

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).

I saw this problem sent by others.

I had this problem for several weeks already and were very frustrated by the latter. I disabled all my Add ons clear all caches etc.

I've finally updated Java of V6.x to V7 and it seems to fix the problem. (I noticed that FF disabled Java due to the incompatabilities).
I'll be watching it but it seems much more quickly.

    Hey wombat,

If the upgrade of Java solves your problem, it would be great if you can mark this as resolved subject, so that other people with the same problem can benefit from advice that you gave.

    Thank you!

  • Upgraded to windows 7 and also a new hard drive

    I have a 2005 HP m7060n Media Center http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c00306958 & lang = to & cc = us & taskI... running on XP
I was looking to upgrade to Windows 7 and also install a new drive.  New readers are shipped with windows 7 already preinstalled and when I change the disks, it will start windows 7.
How could I then exchange the old files to the new drive?
What is your solution the best and less expensive?  How do you do this?  Help, please.
    Thank you
    Marco

I suggest that perform you a clone of the hard drive. Seagate drives and WD offer a free version of the wizard disk.

Clone the original 200 GB drive to the new drive.  To avoid problems, has chosen a 1.5 or 1 t T drive. Once you have the clone, just install the upgrade on the new drive. All your data will remain intact, and the intact original of 200 GB drive is secure.

PS > you need a spare sata power and data leads to the clone. Look inside and see what led power is hanging loose. Then I can suggest an adapter or cable. As the DVD is IDE, (not Sata) from what I've read, you will need a Sata data cable also.

  • HP ProBook 655 G1: upgrade to Windows 8.1 to downgrade from Windows 7

    Hello

I just bought a refurbished HP ProBook 655 G1 with Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) for my wife to use for the job.  I just found out that so that with my wife to support, they now require Windows Pro 8.1 (by the way, does not support Windows 10, so the free update for which I am eligible won't help).  Apparently, the machine came with Windows 8 pro license, even if it is currently running Windows 7.  I need to go back to Windows 8 and upgrade to Windows Pro 8.1.  Because the machine is not come with any type of installation or media recovery, how should I do this?

    Thank you.
