URGENT! -Installation problem - migration of Windows XP from my laptop - can't go beyond, connect!

Hello.

I followed the video tutorial to migrate my old Windows XP laptop on Fusion 2.0.4 on my 3.0Ghz I have mac.

Everything seemed fine until when the virtual machine starts. I got a message saying that to open a session, I need to activate windows. If I click 'No' to try to activate later I just left the log on screen. If I try turn it on my network connection is not found. Also, in this State, I can't seem to install the tool VMware as stated in the video. The virtual machine seems to work up to this point. Any suggestions please know how I am past the Log In screen?

I really need to get this machine works as there is a specific piece of software I need to run.

Please bare in mind, that I'm a year 15 MAC user with very limited experience in Windows so baby steps with clear explanations, please!

Please also note that I have absolutely no idea where is my serial number for this old installation of windows (or even if I had one when I bought the machine 6 years ago!)

Thanks in advance for your help

Greetings - Cyrus

As an addition - I just find a serial number of Windows XP Edition family - I don't know if it's from this particular facility - which still works? Help, please!

to change the login password you must go to control panel > users > change the way users log market / stop

Ive just started using vmware fusion and my 1st issue it became the bootcamp xp for work, but ive sorted that now but I had to activate windows in bootcamp and vm version. you just need to phone MS and follow the automatic option.

  • Installation problem w / 10 Windows on end 2015 27 "iMac retina

I used boot camp and it installs windows 8.1 very well. When install updated to 10 from inside windows 8.1 windows or try a cleanup of 10 windows using boot camp, he gets at some point and I see a black screen and it does not go any further. Why Windows 8.1 installs fine, but not windows 10? I have the model with the hard disk of 1 TB in it.

I have the same model as you, and I just spend the whole day trying to solve that, more than an hour on the phone with Apple support. Here's what I learned.

Apple support agreed with me that the problem is most likely a bad display driver (AMD?) in the last set of drivers for Boot Camp. Unfortunately, Windows 10 compatibility for the end iMac to 2015 has been added only last month, so there would still be easily bugs in drivers. The result is that Windows is unable to turn on the display when the Boot Camp drivers are running, but cannot when the default system drivers are running. That's why we could still install Windows and boot to the desktop at the very first (until Boot Camp installed drivers).

Support has also suggested that the new update of El Capitan 10.11.2 could contribute to the bug, but he was not sure about it.

From my experience, the following will not solve the problem:

    • Reset the PRAM
    • Reinstalling Windows (bad drivers should I not get removed)
    • Using the Windows system restore
    • Install Parallels (you cannot yet touch the drivers)

The only remaining thay of possible solutions have been discussed on the phone are:

    • Enter Windows 10 safe mode (very difficult, unless you hard reboot and reset the PRAM repeatedly) and uninstall the graphics card drivers or install the latest AMD drivers
    • Remove your Windows partition reinstall from scratch and refuse installing Boot Camp drivers when it comes to the top

If you try one of these solutions, please let us know if it works.

And if someone could tell me please how to guarantee to be able to boot in SafeMode Windows 10, it would be greatly appreciated. For the record, F8 and SHIFT + F8 are very likely to work.

  • Windows vista USB flash drive installation AND recover the WINDOWS KEY from the recovery disk

    Hi all

I formatted my laptop some time ago. Now I want to reinstall windows vista (came along with my laptop). The thing is due to a problem that my CD drive does not work so I would like to install windows vista by using a USB key. Can you get it someone please let me know if this is possible... If Yes, how I've go ahead make a bootable USB.

As someone can tell me if there is a way to retrieve the WINDOWS KEY from the recovery disc.

    Thank you.

    Hello

This can help, but you will need a Vista system to create the working bootable USB key:http://www.askvg.com/how-to-create-bootable-usb-drive-to-install-windows-vista/

As for the product key, it should be on a sticker on the laptop (usually on the bottom). If it is not readable, contact the manufacturer for further assistance. As we said already, the product key is not on the installation disc.

Replace broken laptop optical drives is not too difficult, you can see this as another option.

  • Former installation problem program under Windows 7 64-bit

I installed the 64-bit Windows 7, but I need to run some old software, for which I have a CD. (Actually I think it is 16-bit. Well, I know it's a dinosaur, but this is my situation.) Naturally, setup.exe is also 16-bit (perhaps 32 bits, but I doubt it). There is a shortcut to setup.exe on my desk, by double-clicking on it, I get this message:

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using. Check your computer's system information to see if you need a x 86 (32 bit) or x 64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher.

He ran very well under Windows XP 32-bit, and I don't remember doing something special for 16 bit then; I know that much. (I'm sure I'd remember something special like that, if I had). Microsoft program compatibility issues resolution isn't going anywhere.

How do I enter a 32-bit emulator environment and double-click the shortcut (or setup.exe itself) from there?

    64 bit W7 run 16-bit programs.

32-bit W7 can run older 16-bit programs (a little) more

See http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/32-bit-and-64-bit-windows#1TC=windows-7 and http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/how-can-i-run-16-bit-programs-in-windows-7-64-bit/22b921f5-0b71-4ba1-8567-2bb86a1b604e for additional information.

If you have an eligible version of W7, you may be able to get the program running in XPMode or install Virtual Box and if you run an old copy of XP or W7 32-bit (assuming it's free with a free license, etc.) in that.

Or maybe make a system dual-boot W732 (or XP) and W764.

If it is a DOS program rather than an old Windows program, it can run into something like DOSBOX

  • Could not start the Services "Apple Moble device" in windows (Window 7) from my laptop

I am unable to start the Services of "Apple Moble device" in windows (using windows 7) to my laptop in order to use iTunes software to work with my iPad.

Every time when I tried to work with my iPad with the installed iTunes, which prompted because of the Services 'Apple Moble Device"not started, so cannot use the iPad with iTunes. I tried several times to launch the "device Moble Apple' Services manually in the Control Panel, but everytimefailed.

No matter, I reboot the machine, or remove the iTune and installed it again, it has always failed.

However, my iPad works fine with other computers, so it should not be the problem of the iPad. What will be the problem with my Windows 7 on my desktop? Will there be other software or services in my laptop had to start or stop me from starting Services "Apple Mobile Device"?

    Hello

Method 1:  Check that the Apple Mobile Device Service is installed and works using the software component Services MMC snap-in of components:

    (a) on the start menu, click search.

    (b) type services.msc, and then click OK. You will see a list of services.

    (c) view the list alphabetically and make sure "Apple Mobile Device Service" status is "started".

    (d) if the State does not indicate that the service is started, right-click Apple Mobile Device Service and choose Start from the context menu.

    (e) if the service is installed and started, right-click the service and select Restart from the context menu.

Method 2: If the steps above did not help follow the steps described in the following link and check if that helps.

  • Installation of OEL with windows 7 OS on laptop

    Hello
I need a unix/linux environment to install PeopleSoft. So I intend to install OEL in my laptop.

Please help in the installation of OEL OS in my laptop. Also I don't want to distrub the existing OS of Windows 7 in my laptop.

I have 6 GB of RAM and 500 GB (windows) of free space in my laptop.

    Thank you
    Jean-Marc

None of your current installation is put to. just install VMWare Server (it's free) as any other software, and then starting in VMWare, create a virtual machine (this is on top of your current OS) install OEL.
You will find many tutorials all over the web, I wrote an article some time ago (it was OEL4.6 - but the principle is the same with the superior version of OEL):

  • I can't seem to Windows wireless on Lenovo laptop to recognize a USB connection and turn on the wireless radio.

I use a USB connection to my mobile phone for my internet connection. I want to use wireless mobile radio to connect other devices, but the window wireless services does not recognize that I am connected to the internet. What can I do here, gurus?

    Hello

    Please contact Microsoft Community.

1 have you checked the State of the wireless autoconfiguration WLAN service in the services window?
    2. do you have any security software installed on the computer?
    3. have you made changes on the computer recently?

We will first try to manually start the wireless service, i.e. the WLAN AutoConfig service. To do this, connect to the computer as an administrator.
    1. Click Start, type services.msc and press to enter.
    2. Locate the autoconfiguration WLAN service, double-click to open its properties window.
    3. on the general tab, change the startup type to automatic and click on the Start button.
    4. click on apply, then ok.

Try to connect to the wireless connection and check the result.

If the service still does not start, run the System File Checker tool to scan the computer for the corrupt system files and automatically correct. To run a sfc scan, try the steps mentioned in this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

For more information on the wireless settings, see this link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb878035.aspx

  • full 6500 E709N wireless installation problem install on windows 8 preview version

certain someone can tell me. I have a 6500 E709N wireless printer. I downloaded the new windows 8 full install driver software from HP website. everything goes well with the installation until it arrives at the final stage of the configuration of the software. then it saids error fatal. I am running windows 8 preview version. I disabled the antivirus. the firewall is turned on. does anyone have any ideas?

FINSFANLH43, just to let you know, Windows 8 and Windows 8 Preview of consumption are two different operating systems. Some software that is configured for Win8 will never work in the 'test' environment, it's the preview.

Unfortunately, the preview is not fully active operating system and is not fully supported by our printers. The operating system can sometimes install OS for printer drivers after be directly plugged into a USB port and go through the process of automatic detection of computers. Even with that, you would be limited only to be able to print.

I installed Win8 Preview on my netbook to learn the operating system, but quickly discovered the limitations of the preview and was to return to my operating system previous to use all my programs and devices.

Your best option is to be return back as I did for a previous operating system or buy the Win8 complete software if you like how your computer works now. I have worked with Win8 during these last weeks, and it's a good operating system.

    I hope this helps!
