USB is disabled. Administrator cannot access USB

Hello

I need help to enable the USB on the Windows 7 machine to my company. I have an administrator access on this computer.

Earlier, whenever I plug in the USB, it shows nothing. But I changed the value of register of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\USBTOR-> start of 3

Now, I am able to see the USB, but every time I click to open it. It says E:\ Is not accessible by car. Access is denied.

I tried to change the owner of the car through properties-> advanced-> Secuirty

But it gives the same error again.

I tried a lot of solutions available on the internet and none of them works.

Thanks in advance for the help

    Hello

The computer seems to work fine in safe mode. The diagnostic mode disables all third party software and services that run in the background. To emulate a similar situation in normal mode, you can run clean boot.

To perform a clean boot on a computer that is running Windows Vista, follow these steps.

    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

    2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

    3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.

    4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.

    5. click on OK.

    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.

    7. after starting the computer, reinstall and run the program and see if the problem is resolved.

Check if you have the same problem... If your issue is resolved, follow the how to determine what is causing the problem section in KB article to narrow down the exact source.

To restore your computer to a Normal startup mode, follow these steps.

    1. click on start in the box start the search.

    2. type msconfig and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

    3. click on the general tab.

    4. click on Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services and then click OK.

    5. When you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

  • Administrator cannot access the different (seemingly random) files

Windows XP on my desktop computer connected to the home network and regularly synchronized with Windows 7 Home Premium on my laptop

    Problem #1

I'm trying to access the files I often consulted on both computers before and now I'm getting "access is denied; need administrator rights. "I am and have always been the only user of both computers. More confusing still, some of these files does not open, certain opening but cannot be moved; some open but cannot be changed; some can be deleted but not restored (don't even ask), etc. but I can not find a model as to who filed what will do.  The same files work the same way on each computer.

    Problem #2

How can you sift through and short-list possible solutions?

I have searched for hours on other sites and found "solutions" posted between 2009 and today 5 hours ago.  I tried most of those I found except those included editing the registry (I'm chicken), which I justified by noting that they rarely worked for someone else than the poster of this solution.

I have fostered new answers and responses with a large number of positive votes, but I see "solutions" that others say will cause his computer more harm than good even if they worked for some readers, or too technical for me to understand, solutions or solutions that work under a subset of the conditions that I've never heard before...

Is there a site that usually has the best answers?  Or a person who usually gives the best answers? Or...?

    Hello

This problem could be caused due to permissions problems, or even corrupt corrupted user accounts. These problems often occurs when you are connected to other computers on a network or even simply plug an external hard drive to your computer.

I suggest you follow the steps in the link below and the update on the status of the issue.

The issue could be fixed if take us in hand the folder and give all permissions to access.

  • Administrator cannot access folders in Windows 7

I have a new computer and I am the administrator. I've implemented a new guest account and he was denied access to a folder. However, the administrator can no longer access this folder at all.

Even when the administrator account can access the folder no files can be read (they are multimedia files).

Is it possible to completely reset the permissions on the folder that the administrator can play once more files.

Denying access to certain users or groups is a bad idea because it can have unintended effects if you are not perfectly familiar with how work ACL. A few days ago that I am involved in a thread that the author did the same thing you did. So far, none of us found a way to restore access to the file in which he asked to "deny".

If your neighbor wants to keep you out of his house, did it install a detection device of the person who is sensitive to you? Not very likely. It does the opposite: hands He carries keys to the people he trusts. You must manage the permissions on the folders in the same way: provides access only to the groups and users who you trust. Forget the others - because they are not in the trusted group they will get any access.

You can try this method to repair the damage you have done:
1 activate the administrator account and password.
    2 restart in Safe Mode.
    3. log on as an administrator.
    4. click on start
    5. type the three letters cmd
    6. press on Ctrl + Shift + Enter
7 run the process as an administrator.
8 type the following commands and press ENTER after each:
    takeown /f Q:\/a r d y
    ICACLS Q:\/t/c/grant administrators: F System: F "%nom user %": F
(Answer "Yes" when prompted "Are you sure?")
(Replace q: with the actual drive letter the problem disk)

    Original title: bo

It cannot access usb Gizmo! Crucial storage device. Window 7 it shows in Device Manager, but do not have access to the device. I used this drive for 4 years, I need the data on it.

    Hello Bobby.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    • Do you have an error message when it is not detected? If YES, what is the exact and complete error message that you receive?

I understand that the USB device is not detected by your computer. The question may arise if the currently loaded USB driver has become unstable or damaged or if your PC requires an update for problems that could conflict with a device USB and Windows. This can also occur if your USB controllers may have become unstable or corrupt. So, I would suggest trying the following steps and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

Please try the fixit (s) provided below which will help you solve common problems associated with devices and USB ports.

If method 1 does not work, try Method 2.

    Method 2:

Remove and reinstall all USB controllers.

    1. Open Manager devices by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click system and security, and then, under System, clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    2. In the list of the categories of equipment, locate and expand Bus USB controllers.
    3. Right-click every device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
    4. Restart the computer and let the USB controllers get reinstalled.
    5. Plug in the removable USB device and test to make sure that the problem is solved.

If the problem persists, go to method 3.

    Method 3:

Disable USB selective suspend framework. This method prevents your power off USB device.

    1. Click the Start button, type power management in the search box, and then click choose a power plan.
    2. Next to your currently selected plan, click Change Plan settings.
    3. Click change advanced power settings.
    4. Click in the box USBsettings, and then expand the USB selective suspend settings.
    5. Click on the area, and then click the menu drop down and select disabled.
    6. If you use a laptop, click the cell, and then click the menu drop down and select disabled.
    7. Click apply, and then click OK.

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

  • Group administrator cannot open Control Panel, Manager of tasks or access networked readers

    Hello

I have a little trouble getting one of our computers in the domain to cooperate.  We've added a bunch of user profiles of domain on this computer, all under the administrator group, but nobody except the local administrator can access network drives, open Control Panel and open the Task Manager.  Even our domain administrator cannot do the previously listed.  We have 3 other computers that use all the same members, and they are all very well, so I don't think that the question lies in group policy.  It's almost as if the local administrator group settings have been changed somehow?  I went into the local group policy and all settings seem correct.  I'm puzzled little at this stage.  This could be the cause of this problem?  What is a corrupt local administrator account?  For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

  • Cannot access on the desktop, the laptop readers.

I have two computers running Win 7 Ultimate. 1 desktop and 1 laptop. I'm running through a Netgear wireless router. Office is hard wired to the router via an ethernet connection. The laptop has a wireless connection. I also have a cable for color laser printer to the router via an ethernet connection.

The laptop can see the desktop and can access the printer and some of the hard disks on the desktop. The laptop can detect and access G: and H: drives on the desktop but not C: D: E: and Z: drives. G: and H: drives are located on an external USB disk door. The other drives are connected internally to the desktop. Trying to access drives unaccessable to the desktop, I get the following error message.

"Windows cannot access \\DESKTOP\Desktop C:.  You are not allowed to access \\DESKTOP\Desktop c. contact your network administrator to request access. »

The office displays the icon of the laptop in the network, but I get the same error message when I try to access the laptop, but the laptop is overridden to desktop in the above error message. The error code is: 0 x 80070035.

All readers have enabled file sharing and permissions set for everyone. In fact each player is set up exactly the same thing, and both computers are set up exactly the same except for the name of the computer (eg. Mobile - Office).

Cannot access Pathname you have the appropriate permissions. Cannot download updates gives error code 643 and error code 5. Always gives access denied. You do not have the appropriate permissions. I am the administrator. Change all the complete control. Any other suggestions? Possible virus?

    Hello

You are unable to download the updates?

Try the following steps to resolve the problem:

Method 1: Temporarily disable any security (including firewalls) software and check if the problem persists.

    Check out these links:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

If disabling the security software solves the problem, then contact the manufacturer of the specific security software to fix the problem.

Important: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable
your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are
connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2:
See the article mentioned below and run the Fixit diagnostic tool to fix the error 643.

You receive error code 80070643 0 x or 0 x 643, code error when you use the Windows Update or Microsoft Update Web sites to install updates:

    Hello!
So I'm at the end of my rope with this one... it lasts for months, and I keep revisitng every two weeks to try and fix that and every time to be completely frustrated.  I found this forum tonight, so here goes...

We downloaded a few games on the HP Games Web site.  We download them and everything works fine.  Then, we will open the games and this pop up error message:
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file.  You can not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

These games used to run fine, and I have no idea why they now have problems.  We have a Vista operating system, 1 account who is the administrator, the Parental control is disabled (or if we believe).

If anyone can please help it would be much appreciated!  We have a monthly membership to this site of game and continue to accumulate credits, but may not use it.  It makes us crazy!

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello Heathie,

Thank you for posting.  It seems that the program is no longer on your computer.  This can happen if the game files are deleted, but the game itself has not been uninstalled correctly.  I recommend you to download the game again to a location on your computer where you can easily find and install it.  This should fix the problem.

Please let me know if this helps you.

  • "Cannot access working group on some computers running XP - ' < name of working group > is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource ".

I have a home with 4 PC network - one of them is running Windows 7 Home Premium (with homegroup disabled) and others running XP Pro.  The XP machines is called 'Server' and the server and the computer services browser running and set to automatic.  Two other computers, called "Notebook" and "Dell", as well as the machine Windows 7 have no file and sharing printers enabled and have specifically the Server service is disabled.

My problem is that one of the two XP client machines cannot access the working group.  Let me be clear about this: I open Windows Explorer and click on "My network places"-> "entire network"-> "Microsoft Windows network", there is then a second 5-10 break and then my workgroup name is displayed.  When I click on the name of the Working Group, there is another ~ 10 second pause and then I get a message that says error " is not accessible.  You might not have permission to use this network resource.  Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have permissions.  A device attached to the system does not work. ', where is the name of my group to work for other days, after some of the computers are restarted, I find that the XP client has absolutely no problem with that; but the other now has this same problem.  In other words, the problem going on between two XP clients.

Let's analyze: I have Windows on all PC firewall and any other firewall program.  I tried to disable the Windows Firewall and my anti-virus (temporarily), program without effect.  This may not be a problem with the way I've set up my actions because the error occurs when I try to click on the task force rather than a shared resource.  This cannot be a problem with a specific XP client because at different times, each of the two PCs worked perfectly without any changes of configuration made between the two.  It could be a problem with the server settings; but I don't see what it could be.  I tried editing

    HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters and changing

IRPStackSize from 21 to 45, then 50.  I also tried to change the size of 2 to 3.  I restarted the server and the client XP and had no effect.

I don't have the same account of user configured on all three machines.  However, this cannot be the issue because the problem occurs when I click on the task force, before the server name is still displayed.  In addition, each of these two XP clients have connected with their existing user accounts at times.

I tried the Wizzard of configuration network running on all four machines, without effect.  I tried a lot of things, most of which I can't remember.  I'm at the end of my mind.  Help, please.

    JW,

    Thanks for the continued support.

By the advice of IPCONFIG, I looked at the registry for all computers and found EnableProxy wasn't there.  According to the documentation by default to 0, which is what we want.  However, I added it to all the computers and left it set to 0 and restarted the computer.  The node Type still said 'unknown '.

Thanks for the info on the master browser.

The ""Network location cannot be reached"when you access actions."
the article talks about Windows 2003 Server and none of the symptoms mentioned relate to this situation.

The "network adapter advanced troubleshooting for Windows workstations" is on hardware troubleshooting.  I think that it's probably not a problem because the computer has no trouble to access the internet, which is not possible if the card network are not working.

I went through the AutoCorrect entry to reset the TCP/IP stack, even if the article describes symptoms such as difficulty to access the internet...  And...  THIS MARKET!

After re-booting, the PC that was in trouble can now access the working group.  All other PCs can always too (have not tried to restart all over again).  AWESOME!  I can't thank you enough!

I re-post if the syptoms happen; but for now, we can consider this issue RESOLVED.

    Thank you 1 million,

    Adam
