• Value of cluster lost when you leave the structure of the case

  Hi all

  I'm having a problem with a particular VI I'm working. (FYI it's in Labview 8.0)

  The VI is set to run a current source, voltmeter and thermometer, then recording and graph the data in various ways that can be selected by the user.

  Everything seems to work fine except a particular graphic method. When I try to graph current compared to the tension, the current value is lost estates. In a case the current and voltage are combined to form a cluster, and then leave the case structure to be later appended to a table of cluster.

  However, the value of the cluster is lost when the chart is set for the voltage vs. Any other method and it works correctly.

  I can't understand why this is happening as it does not make much sense than other methods of work charts, but this one isn't when it is coded the same exact other than having the different variables.

  I have attached the VI with added indicators showing that the value of cluster is lost once he leaves the box structure. Any help would be appreciated.

  You really need to boil this down to something we can run and reproduce the problem.

  Have you tried to break a few relevant connections and rewire? Something is possibly corrupt.

  Besides being a mess, your VI has quite a few glaring errors.

  Let's take a look at the structures at the top right:

  • 90% of the code is the same in all the structures of three cases, so all that needs to be inside the structure is the small part where you built the table 2D. All the rest is outside of the case.
  • The structure of the sequence has no useful function.
  • Why do you need to reverse the table with each iteration of the small loop FOR? Once before the loop would be sufficient. Right?
  • Why you use table built inside the small loop FOR, but no autoindex on the edge of the loop? All you ever get is an array containing exactly one element, no matter how the loop runs. Seems unnecessary! (see below for an alternative image).
  • You wouldn't even need to reverse if you want to use "built the table" instead of "insert into the table at position 0" in the central part.

  

  Other: You constantly hammer all nodes of your property. The only need that will be called when things change. Again, you have far too many cases. For example, in the structure of the case where you are having problems, the same nodes of property exist in all cases. A single instance of the property node belong outside the case and only the string inside each case constants. Whenever the code is the same in all cases a case structure, which code belongs to the outside!

• How to write values to cluster of indicators (tank sliders)?

  I'm writing a table 1 d of values to their 8 sliders matching tank.

  So each element of the array is displayed as the value of the slider.

  How can I do this?

  This works if you view in a cluster of numeric values, but not the sliders.

  I also tried to write the table to the 'value' property of each of the sliders, but still doesn't seem to work.

  Any suggestions?

  How did you create the sliders? They are actaully the clusters of two elements, which appear to be identical cursors sitting on top of the other.

  This is probably why you meet your data of wiring to them so much trouble.  I suggest that you create a new cluster with standard cursors.  Then, you can use the table to primitive Cluster to move the data.

  Two caveats: 1. table to the default Cluster is 9 elements of the cluster regardless of the number of items in the table.  Pop - up on the release of cluster Terminal to change the number of items if necessary.

  2. you have apparently added items to the cluster inoperable.  The order of cluster is important if you want to get the data in the right places.

  In addition, it would be much easier for us to test your code if you included table 2D input data.  Put the data here and then change > use current default values. Then save.

  I was trying to * make * a cluster in one area as little as possible, and I tried to build an array of Boolean 3, then use the table to the cluster service to this cluster.  However, it seems that there is that a fancy way of labview handle Boolean values.  something like a 9-bit thingy?

  Many years ago I remember reading how hardcore CS people interpret Wicks... little big "endianness"? I also saw how labview can convert an integer in 9-bit something like that.

  in any case, my question is, is it possible to do a 'cluster' of 3 items from 3 Boolean constants without using "bundle"?

  The default cluster is 9 elements, right-click to change.

  (As a side note LV implements Boolean as U8, so a byte for each.) If you want the bit optimization you could hide all to a single U8 like flags - type C)

  new to labview :-) and I have a problem when I want to change the value of a string in bunches, and I want to implement this using the node value of property instead of writing directly to the stream or by using the variable, enclosed is the picture.   No matter, I have change in cluster (control) or value of Popery out (indicator) cluster, the value (sensor 7) dataflow keeps unchanged even I gave the new value by value of property node.   Thanks a lot for your answer. The reason I'm stubbornly tring to break the flow of DATA is: we have a test system that have about 100 screws, they have a few connected flow, some of them will be unbundling a cluster dataflow chain to check the value in order to make the different cases.  Now I want to insert user event by changing the control and influential cases during run time.

  As I initially uses a global variable (to control cases) instead of unbundle string data flow, it works well.  But then, I found there are a lot of screws that are using the string unbundle.  One of the 'lazy' means, I tried is to change the value via the property node (because that way, I did not need to find all the places where using the unbundle string and replace them with the global variable), then I noticed a problem with "dataflow", the value in the stream of cluster in fact will not be changed by changing the value of the property node.

  I did a test with VI simple (like the picture in last post), and after reading your advice, I tell myself that I need to understand the concept of "DATAFLOW" in labview, it seems that my "lazy" way can not work in this scenario.

  I have attached the criterion VI here, have you furthur suggestions on what I can do in this case?

  I have several items of type ' Select list with shipment "on a form page. When the user changes a list selection, proper process must be loaded. I tried to use the name of the element as the value of the REQUEST, but I'm getting a NULL request when I change the order of the day.   I just tested it.
  At the top of the page it says

  0.01: A C C E P T: Request="P2_BRAND_ID"
  

  This will be set all the way until you plug.

  Once you have branched out YOU don't SET THE REQUEST IN THE BRANCH IF you will get something like

  0.11: S H O W: application="3" page="2" workspace=""
  request="" session="2287495007492076"
  

  If you try to get a process to run using the request on the way in a page, you will need to put a branch, under certain conditions of shooting on your article and in this branch, set the value of the application once again. It will be valid when you return to the page.

  Hello!

  I do a "Calculator" to get estimates of price for the projects, according to which processes the customer wants.

  Rates for each process are added in another table, and I use the list of control buttons to enable or disable the various processes.

  Here is an example of a formula:

  

  D3 determines if the part of the project modeling is performed, so the price will be or will not be calculated.

  If D3 is true, the result is multiplied by 1, give me a positive amount. If false, the result will be multiplied by 0, 0, so nothing to add to the final cost he send me some.

  Same for B4 in the same formula.

  This formula is repeated all over the chart, with minor changes to add more complex options, but it's all the same.

  Everything works fine, but I got those blue triangles warning me of "the formula uses a Boolean value instead of the number". That's fine with me, I like the use of the Boolean types, and they make my formulas work well in my calculator. How can I reject the blue triangles?

  

  They are a little annoying. And they do not really correspond with the general style of my calculator.

  I saw someone talking other types of formulas, with SEARCH and yews, but who is really complicated and I don't know how to do... Especially for a simple calculator

  Hi Sinshassan,

  I don't know a way to escape your blue flags except to make a formula which is consistent with the expected numbers. It is not difficult.

  

  My formula D2 = yew (AND(D1,B2), C2, 0)

  The IF statement tests the two D1 AND B2. If they are true, then it indicates the value of C2 your carbon Modeling::High Poly #1, if one or both are false (unchecked) then 0 is displayed.

  I use a DirectShow supported CMOS-USB-Cam (ICube NS41133BU, Net-GmbH). This camera is displayed correctly in the Explorer of Measurement & Automation devices NOR-IMAQdx. I can also access and modify several parameters of the cam.

  BUT: when I want to change the exposure time of the camera (which is a crucial parameter for my app) I can enter only a few numbers which are still twice the number preceding (e.g., 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, 0.8, 1.6)--> I can not chosen exposure values I want to because when I implement cela in my Vi and enter some value for duration of exposure , the camera will use a different value (the next smallest value that is available). However, this seems not to be a problem of the pilot of the camera or DirectShow support as it works perfectly with other software like 'AMCAP '.

  Yes, there are available screws to expose the internal image data such as pointers to image data that 3rd - party code can use to integrate into their own software/driver development kit functions. Depending on how their functions are defined, you have perhaps trivial to wrap as - is in LabVIEW or you will have to compile your own packaging C.

• Use the return value to do step digital multiple success or failure

  I use a multiple digital step to check several measurements by an external DMM through a function created in CVI.  I would like to use the return value of the function to replace the global status of the step. The reason is that the return value indicates a communication error, while steps are being taken, and which would lead to a "fake" fake or false 'Pass '.

  What I would do is more or less this >

  If the return value is 0, then check if the measuremets are between the limits

  If return value! 0 = there was a communication error so step continues to operate independently of the measure.

  I tried combining multiple digital step with a step of pass/fail, but it does not work.

  I also trie to change the expression of the status of the multiple digital steps but basically ignores him.

  Any ideas?

  Why don't you just make that return the value limits for multiple numerical limit stage.  Comparison of the EQ value and the low limit to 0.

  That would make the most sense.

• [Solved] How to do an enum using non-consecutive values

  LV2010...  I need to create an enum contstant who uses non-consecutive values.  I need to have two components, an equal to 0x00000000 and other equal to 0xFFFFFFFF.  It is only letting me use 0 and 1.  Thank you.

  You can use the constant of the ring that will look like enum. You can go and not select sequential values option and use your own values.

• Can you attribute programmatically size when you use the table in the Cluster service cluster

  I use the table of the Cluster service.  The only way I know to the size of the cluster is to right click on the function and set the Cluster size.  But what happens if the length of my table changes?  Is there a way to make the cluster size is the number of elements in the table?  Seems like labview should do this automatically at run time.  There may be some nodes of property I don't know.

  I tried the SQL statements, but it always boils down to having to know the number of columns is in the database prior to execution.

  What I did to generate the object to be a cluster to match database fields.  My recordset is an array of objects.  Then I a vi member to build a recordset from the database and another Member vi to retrieve an array of clusters of the recordset object.  If the database changes, I have to change the subject and these two vi.  All the other Subvi call these two for the manipulation of data.  No other sub - VI have bundle and ungroup functions in them, only the vi of two members.  Thus a change in the database requires a change of control and two vi.  Not too bad.

  (I'm tooting my Horn in choosing me as accetped solution provider.  I learned this bad habit of others here on the forum.  )

  Add the REGISTRATION_YEAR_ITEM to the IR Page elements to submit property. He will submit the current value in session state.

  Why bother with the page element at all? Why users can't create just an IR filter?
