user and the database of departure

Hi gurus,

friendly request but me information on less than question, thanks in advance.

* When the database is out of service - for starting db how authentication? How does the db recognizes users who begin?

Thank you
REDA

You must log on as a user with privileges "sysdba" to start the database that is authenticated using password * 'orapwd' * file resides on the server. It is authenticated by the database itself. To learn more:

  • Reg: verification of users in the database pending

    I need to check the users in the database pending. In the primary database, I got the result by querying dba_users. But how to check standby db, without opening the database.
    Is it possible with any views?

    No, you can't.

    Assuming that physical standby, you can only query dynamic views of performance when it is in MOUNT.

    I like the answer of sb92075. Its a copy of the same database. We're in a mode where you can search for users, and we're in a mode where you can not.

  • How can I retrieve the name of the server and the database to a system dsn

    Hello

    I am trying to create a database that will be used by many stores. Each store has its own server and the database and the access runtime version. I want to create a system dsn name, but allowing the administrator to modify the server and the database for that dsn and then, when you connect to the database, the database must be able to find this DSN and the 'new' name of the server and name of 'new' database and connect to point to this server and the database tables. I don't have a login form and I can get the name of the dsn, but I can't find a way to get the server name and database name for that dsn. Does anyone know a way to retrieve this from the registry. I can see it using regedit but have no idea on how to get this in vba access.

    This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

  • Listener (and the database instance) does not start automatically: ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently of service requested in connect descriptor

    Hi all... I am a newbie with oracle database.,.

    I have the problem of monitoring:

    I installed Oracle Database 11 g R2 XE on my CentOS 6.5 guest operating system.

    I changed the host name in my CentOS so (where installed oracle 11g R2 XE) after the installation was completed successfully.

    Installation-) before and during the hostname is localhost.

    (-) After the installation, I changed the host name in VMCentOS

    From the moment where I changed the host name, nothing starts automatically. In particular, the listener and the database instance does not start automatically.

    When I start the listener manually and I try to connect to the instance of database with SQLPLUS I get this error:

    ORA-12514: TNS:listener is not currently of service requested in connect descriptor

    I think that the problem is due host name changed because I have to test and debug the object, re-installed a machine virtual operating system CentOS, re-installed oracle database 11 g and I do not have this problem. The database instance and the listener starts automatically!

    Can someone tell me if, maybe, the problem is with the host has changed? ... and why?

    P.S.: After changing the hostname I also modified the listener.ora and the tnsnames.ora by changing the HOST with the correct host name.

    Hello

    It seems that you don't install Oracle Database Express Edition (XE). If you post this question in the wrong forum.

    When you install EA or there is no script that starts the database at startup.

    If you wish, you can create by yourself. For example search for instructions to Google how to create script.

    You cannot create a user on a remote database using a database link.

    You can, but it is not a good design:

    SQL> exec dbms_utility.exec_ddl_statement@orcl('CREATE USER ABC IDENTIFIED BY ABC');

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    SQL> exec dbms_utility.exec_ddl_statement@orcl('GRANT CREATE SESSION TO ABC');

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    SQL> connect abc@orcl/ABC
    Connected.

    Of course, the user in the database unite ORCL must have EXECUTE on DBMS_UTILITY privilege.

    Write the file spooling
    as

    Make sure that all profiles has password_verify_function with a NULL value

    then

    Select 'edit user' | username: ' identified by ;' from dba_users;

    you will get the output... you just run.

  • 2 How to remove an element from the tree and the database block tree?

    Hello

    2 How to remove an element from the tree and the database block tree?

    Kind regards

    Abdetu...

    The problem is caused by not sending forms is not a VALIDATION of the database because he thinks that there is no changes to save.

    Forms does know that changes to the data block, he does not know the changes made by the PLSQL INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE calls and procedure.

    Try to remove the line to block, rather than using a DELETION like that...

    go_block ('INSP_EQUIPMENT_TYPE');if form_success then   do_key ('DELETE_RECORD');end if;

    If you wish to continue using your original DELETE instead of my change above code, you can use different techniques to force forms to issue the COMMIT to the database, including this one...

            DELETE ...        FORMS_DDL ('COMMIT');

    Be careful... This will be the VALIDATION of the database, but the changes to the data block will not be sent to the database!

    I posted a few other ways to issue a VALIDATION of forms here

  • Users on the application and the database

    Hi all

    Today a doubt struck in mind, same as I do my own research it doesn't. Well, my doubt is

    Gmail, facebook, OTN as these applications will undergo millions of uses, is what it means at the level of the database as we have same count of users...?

    How it will work. could you please let me know...

    Thank you

    Dedicated server means that there will be a dedicated process running on the server for each session opened by a customer.  The client application servers can open hundreds or thousands of connections at the base, all having the same shared database user to Oracle, to serve users accessing the site.  You would not channel all users through a single database connection and a single server process.

  • Vault to Oracle set up rules to restrict the user and the type of application that can connect

    Oracle 11 g 2 (11.2.0.4.3)

    RHEL 6

    Hi all

    We are experiencing a few problems to configure the following condition:

    Users A, B, and C will not be able to connect via SQLPLUS.

    So I took note of the political examples on how to Set Up database Vault (Doc ID 972477.1() -section restrict access to the database (sqlplus) unwanted tools:

    However, it doesn't evaluate the rule in the rule set correctly. The rule set is as follows:

    DVF. F$ MODULE! = ' SQL * MORE AND DVF. F$ SESSION_USER NOT IN ("USERA", "USERB", "USERC")

    This rule allows all users to connect except those defined in the rule. And it applies also to the developer SQL (and all other connections). If I change to be 'IN' he also allows users in the list, but no one else. In addition, somewhere I think it evaluates it as "OR" rather than "AND". What I want to do is:

    IF user IN ("USERA", "USERB", "USERC") AND SYS_CONTEXT ('USERENV', 'MODULE') = ' SQL * MORE

    SO, do not allow the user to connect.

    Note: The factor (MODULE) has been created by me and her expression is SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV','MODULE')

    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    I tested these rules and they work:

    (1) ((upper (sys_context ('userenv', 'module')) like '%%') and (not in sys_context ('userenv', 'session_user') ('A', 'B'))) or ((upper (sys_context ('userenv', 'module')) like ' % %') and DEVELOPER (not in sys_context ('userenv', 'session_user') ('A', 'B'))))

    (2) ((upper (sys_context ('userenv', 'module')) not like ' %PLUS%')) or ((upper (sys_context ('userenv', 'module')) not like ' % DEVELOPER %'))))))

    I'm blocking users A and B to connect from SQL * more and SQL Developer

    -set the rule defined for all THE TRUE evaluation
