  I am trying to automate a process and I need to take 4 + pdf files and combine them into a single PDF.  I see in Acrobat Adobe Pro 8 that I can use the icon to "combine" in the toolbar, but my users want this process to be automated.  Is there an API or some way I can do this?  I put the API / code in an Access 2007 application.  I read on the Distiller API, but do not know if it is something that I can use in my access database to call via accomlish and vba code, that.  Need help to determine the best way to achieve this...

  No - it's something you need on your development computer.  It contains all the necessary documents, code examples, etc in order to teach you how to develop with Acrobat.

  I think that you have made several mistakes... assuming that Distiller 3 (over 20 years) would go in Windows 7, but I suspect (sorry if I'm wrong) that you think that distill is a free software and how to get it. Distiller is NOT free. Distiller is included in the product Adobe Acrobat Pro and Adobe Acrobat Standard, to which you can subscribe. The current version is Acrobat DC. If you have a license of Acrobat 3, you must configure a computer with a supported system (Windows 95 or 98, probably) and reinstall Acrobat original CD (or possibly disks).

  Acrobat 7 is not supported by Adobe.

  You can try Acrobat DC Download Adobe Acrobat products. Standard, Pro | DC, XI, X, be sure to check the system requirements before installing system requirements | Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, Adobe Acrobat Standard DC.

  With the help of FM10. Need to create a PDF file only occasionally. Always used the plug-in included with FrameMaker. We decided to download the trial version of Acrobat X. used for awhile, but haven't seen the great advantages to buy. For the work we do, save it as PDF feature in FrameMaker works beautifully. So I deleted Acrobat X. Now the Distiller is gone as well. I can save is no longer in PDF in FrameMaker. When I try, I get the error message "run 'Save as PDF' command, you must have Acrobat Distiller version 5.05 or higher installed.»

  I just answered my own question. I thought "what is losing?" and completely uninstalled FrameMaker 10, THEN did a clean install. Everything works fine now. It would have been nice to have had a "caution" before all of this to you. Well, I guess it's my week. I have a new iPhone 4s, and it is one of the who-knows-how-many which was defective. Verizon is sending me a replacement. It's nice!

  When I try to load or use Acrobat Reader, I get a message that Acrobat has encountered a problem and needs to close.   The problem seems to be related to the fix to windows installation I get a message asking if the patch installation is correct or who are permitted.   If I try to remove Acrobat Reader I get the same message and deletion does not continue.   If I try to download a new Acrobat Reader installation stops with a message that Acrobat Reader is already installed.   What should do?

  You can probably do that - but the only way to be sure is to try.  It probably ONLY works inside the XP mode virtual machine, though - so its utility will be limited and probably a pain.

  Do you just need a way to "print to PDF" or do you really need editing capabilities?

  You don't always have your serial number for Adobe Acrobat Standard 7.x?

  It is still installed on another system?  If so - use Belarc Advisor to get the key for her.

  Go to tools > text recognition > in this file. You can define the OCR (OCR language and style of OCR output) parameter according to your requirement and run OCR now.

  I have the same problem, except that there is no system of Mac involved. I've created a registration form to fill live events to a charitable organization for which I work and distributed. I had checked that filled in forms may be saved with their data, but I don't actually print a. Today, I downloaded the form inside and tried to print it. Fixed content of the form prints normally, but the content of the form fields is not printed. I have the print options configured to print 'Document and annotations', as suggested elsewhere. A test, I used Photoshop to open the file. It can be printed (default settings) with the fields filled in displayed as it should show. On my own system I open and print the latest version of Acrobat Professional. I also tried to print from another system, using Acrobat Reader DC - this has also led the white printing. Both systems are running Windows Update 10 anniversary. The original form (empty) can be downloaded from http://ncinvestiture.holysepulchre.net/images/regformnew.pdf. I can send you my completed form if you want to give me the necessary details.
