USING Lightroom 5.6 spontaneously restarts computer

Lightroom 5.6 is installed on a new computer running Windows 8.1 and all the drivers and software are up-to-date.  All other software works well including InDesign that has been used widely for 5-6 hours without problem.  I imported my existing photos in a new catalog in a freshly installed Lightroom 5.6.  After importation, with minimum previews generated on all images of 11 400, I tried to spontaneously generate 1:1 previews on a small group of images and the computer (no pause, no blue screen) just restarts without any warning.  After the restart, I tried to start Lightroom, even once, received a message saying; "error in the previews and Lightroom must be closed.  Required to receive the same message each time when starting from Lightroom again and could not open Lightroom.  Uninstalled Lightroom and ran CCleaner to clear registry entries, erased all Lightroom preferences and restarted the computer and then reinstalled Lightroom.  Thinking that there may be some sort of error in the existing catalogue I decided to start a new catalog and re-imported all the pictures again.

(I later concluded that the error is in the preview files. Apparently when Lightroom quits in a spontaneous reboot that preview them files are corrupt so the message I received. When the restart to occur when creating 1:1 overview can I restart Lightroom correctly if I first delete the folder preview.)

After you import all the images in the re-installed Lightroom tried creating 1:1 previews and has experienced the same spontaneous restart of the computer.  Thinking it could have been some sort of error in the downloaded software, I downloaded a new copy of Lightroom 5.6 and re-installed the software (the have done twice now).  Yet once, Lightroom spontaneously rebooted the computer when you try to create 1:1 previews.  Lightroom uninstalled and reinstalled in the manner previously described above.  After re - import images I decided to NOT to create previews this time.  But as I'm selecting a picture in the library to show large, Lightroom spontaneously restarted again. However, this time I was able to restart Lightroom without receiving an error message.  After restarting Lightroom that I tried to select a new image in the library of the computer once more spontaneously rebooted.

At this point, I uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom 5.6 eight times.  Whenever I looked carefully the computer to make sure that all vestiges of the previous installation have been removed using CCleaner, delete all files in Lightroom and the search the registry in order to ensure that there is no prior installation of Lightroom.  I also deleted the catalog and all the presets.  If at this stage, I am at a loss as to what should be my next step.

Any suggestions?  Thank you.

Background: I started using Lightroom when Adobe purchased RAWshooter and updated all their uses to Lightroom version 1. So I used all the versions in Lightroom 5.6. I have Lightroom installed on three other computers and they run without a problem. This is the first time all these years I have been using the light that I have no problems.

After all kinds of stress tests on the CPU, I couldn't find a real cause because the heat was not the issue. While the CPU ran on the warm side I was able to run more than 7 minutes using HeavyLoad running everything BUT the load of the CPU and the time is expected to increase to more than 90 C and still works without problem. I then waited for all the time back to 30 c (idle temp) and simply apply a CPU load. At the time where I clicked the Start button the computer restarted with the time still at 30 ° C. I took the same CPU model from my old computer that ran to 3.5 GHz (instead of 4.0 GHz) and installed in the computer of the problem. The chip 3.5 ran without problem, so I called Newegg and they replace the CPU which will have 10 days to turn around because I returned it after the 30 day return period.

I am currently using Lightroom 4. I bought the IMac with the largest memory, but he has quickly filled. To conserve space on my computer, I bought a hard drive and I tried to get my lightroom back up there. (I don't know if I did it correctly or not) Now, all my photos in Lightroom are "offline or missing", and I have no idea what to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I guess you mean not memory and disk space, you want to clear space on the internal drive. Is this correct?

If you have moved your photos somehow (this is not a backup), please follow these instructions to reconnect photos in Lightroom. Adobe Lightroom - find folders and files moved or missing

In addition, you must (it is obligatory) make real backups of your database catalog and photos, that means accurate identical copies, made by a method automated and placed on a different physical disk than the originals. Lightroom allows you to make backups of your files of catalog on a regular basis, it is an option under the catalog settings. To make backups of your photos, you need some third party software to do.

The option to turn off depends on which version of Lightroom, it is.  Anything older than that version 6 has no option - simply reinstall and activate if necessary.

    Hello

Please, go to the Windows, where Device Manager, expand display adapters.

Turn off the graphics card and open Lightroom, go to Lightroom preferences, then the performance tab, and then uncheck the option "use graphics processor.

Lightroom farm and go back to Device Manager and activate the graphic card.

Open Lightroom and then work in Lightroom and check if it works very well.

  • OSX Yosemite lightroom crashes and stops at computer

I have lightroom 5 on a laptop MacBook Pro 2012 and very new iMac.  Since the upgrade to Yosemite, each of my laptop and iMacs have now crushed when using Lightroom.  When I say crash, both computers have both suddenly stopped and restarted.  I've never had a computer crash like this before.  Each time, I was not doing anything particularly in Lightroom, just browsing through the photos in the catalog (thought I admit it is a very large catalog of about 30 000 images.) Just wondering if anyone else has made experience, or what could be the cause of this?

It is not a Lightroom problem, but a permission problem on your Mac, caused by updates to Yosemite.

iPhoto place files within a package, it generates so notice you can't see the files, permissions are set by iPhoto... just a bunch of iPhoto library.

Now you try to have the copied files in the pictures folder or a folder inside.

    Please be specific.

How to use transfer windows for xp to xp.  When I plug usb computers are delivered to the top with the same screen and when I try to use the transfer to the new computer, it just said information gathering and sits for hours

    Hello, welcome.

The process is automatic and the maximum transfer rate should be about 20 GB/HR. If the process crashes during that long of a time, it's probably because of something internal rather something you're doing wrong.
For reference purposes, I included this link. It goes into the details of the migration from XP to Vista (and the basic steps you follow). The instructions are for migrating to Vista via the network, but you can easily follow the steps and choose a different option for your specific installation.
For both machines, I recommend you to prepare for the transfer using the following procedure:
    1. click on START > run
2 type "msconfig" (without the quotes) and press enter
    3. go to the "Startup" tab and uncheck all the entries displayed
    4. click on 'Apply' at the bottom right
DO NOT RESTART YOUR COMPUTER AGAIN
    5. click on START > run
    6. Type "cmd" (without the quotes). Right-click on the result at the top of the menu START and select 'run as administrator '.
    7. type chkdsk /r and press enter
8 allow the system to attempt disassembly of the volume
    9. allow the system to plan restarting
    10. restart your computer
11 let checkdisk analyze the file system on your hard drive
    12. Once completed, perform the same steps on the other machine
    13. Once completed, repeat the transfer

Original title: my system is installed with windows vista and using the Explorer 9. My syster is very slow. How can you help me?

    Hello

    See if this helps you:

Search for malware, if necessary using the safe mode with networking.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-start-Windows-in-safe-mode/#Vista

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with the Boot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

Once in Safe Mode with network, download and run RKill.

RKill does NOT remove the malware; It stops the Malware process that gives you a chance to remove it with your security programs.

Then, download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware in Mode safe mode with networking:

It would be a good idea to run the System File Checker tool to see if you have corrupted files

"How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the files on system missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7"

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

If SFC detects serious flaws, you may need to perform a repair upgrade Installation or relocation complete if you don't have a Vista DVD from Microsoft.

If you can borrow a DVD of Vista from Microsoft you save doing a reinstall full:

I had uninstalled my Windows 7, or more to the point, to the format that cause hard drive then I bought a copy of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and tried to install it on my new hard drive 2 TB, but it is around. If your license of Windows 7 is an upgrade:

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

Thanks for your help read you soon

You must read the exact terms of the license.

Photoshop Lightroom - Adobe Labs end-user license agreement

2.4 portable or home computer use. The primary user of the computer on which the software is installed may install a second copy of the software for his or her use exclusive on a laptop or a computer located at his or her home, the software on the portable or home computer is not used at the same time as the software on the primary computer.

If you have Lightroom installed on computers A and B, and then you uninstall a license on computer B, you could install Lightroom on computer C, it is always very well because you have installed on two computers A and C.

  • I have 2 databases I use Lightroom how to identify objects in one and not the other, I changed

I use my cell phone as my computer on travel. When I come home, I transfer my data to my main catalog on my desktop. Sometimes, the files remain on my laptop and I made changes to some of my files.

I was trying to identify objects through finder that I've changed since I added changed files from my laptop to my desktop. My intention was to identify the XMP files that have changed since I added the files from my laptop to my desktop.

By analyzing what I see in the finder, I find that Lightroom data seem unwise. For example, is as follows the first line in the finder

    File: _MG_1180.xmp

    Date added: 05/05/16

    Creation date: 16/04/16

    Update: 16/04/16

    1. I've been constantly adding to my catalog when I import my SD card in my laptop. I'm waiting for my date added date should be the same as the date of the creation Date. Why date is later than the date of creation?

    2. to play back my 2 libraries, can I just move my files from one to the other xmp?

Do not do this through xmp. Some elements are never written to .xmp.

To do this through the sequence of command as follows:

    • On the laptop, in Lightroom, select the photos you want, then use the menu file-> export as catalog command. If the pictures are not on the desktop, check the box that says "negative."
    • Copy all the files created on the desktop
    • On the desktop, use the command file-> import from another catalog and point Lightroom in the laptop just transferred catalog file.

Which leaves the question of how to identify the photos changed recently. Create a collection of smart with the criterion that the modification Date is greater than YYYY-MM-DD, where of course which is the date of interest.

    All,

I have an iMac of 2013 end (27 inches) with the following specifications:

    Chipset model:NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M

This is per pixel is 32-bit color (ARGB8888).

However, for Lightroom 6 official system requirements are:

    • Processor Intel multicore with 64-bit support

It will work with 32-bit color as well or not?

Currently, I use Lightroom 4 and want to switch to Lightroom 6 so I can make the panorama without having to use a plugin.

Anyone who can tell me if it will work?

Figure 32-bit depth, and support for 64-bit processors are two TOTALLY different characteristics.  Lightroom 6 FONCTIONNERA on your computer as you certainly have a 64-bit processor.
