Using powershell in the RACADM command variables

I have a powershell script that I use to look through a CSV file to assign a static iDRAC IP based on the serial number.

Here's a command that works very well!

racadm - r $oldIP - u root Pei calvin set iDRAC.IPv4.Gateway $gw

the $oldIP and the $gw are the variables that have been assigned values previously in my script.

I can check with 'get iDRAC.IPv4' and all it's thanks to the gateway.

I attribute the $gw of the exact same way that I attribute to the variable $newIP.

Here is the command that does not work with the PowerShell variable:

racadm - r $oldIP - u root Pei calvin set iDRAC.IPv4.Address $newIP

Returns: "Error: RAC947: invalid object specified value.»

If I use exactly the same command (by pressing the arrow upward for the previous command) and replace $newIP with the actual IP address, it works fine... If I wanted to manually enter each IP... which I did not.

I can verify that $newIP is in fact I need by calling just separately.  Seems good.  It "SHOULD" work.  Especially if $gw works very well.

I tried every way Wednesday to make it work.  Rearrange things in the code.  Made sure that iDRAC.IPv4.DHCPEnable 0 and iDRAC.IPv4 allow 1 are defined.  Research for hours trying to find an explanation or a reason for the failure.  Could not find anything.

Can the iDRAC.IPv4.Address command not to take anything except an IP address that is actually typed in?  A kind of validation?

Does anyone have any ideas as to why it doesn't work?

RACADM version 8.1.0 build 1518 (Yes... I looked into that too).

Use the basic example functions. Write-Host $oldIP to check what is happening in reality not in these variables.

    Hello

    When I try to run Java from the Windows DOS command line, I'm running into trouble:

    2. when I'm in the directory 'right' (.../MyApp1/build/classes/myapp1 /, where is the MyApp1.class file), I get the following error:

    It should work. Your code:

    package myapp1;
    class MyApp1 {...}

    At the prompt of DOS commands:

    cd  .../MyApp1/build/classes
    java myapp1.MyApp1

    The case is important.

  • Import of groups of ports in vDS using powershell and

    I have a VCenter 5.5 with a 5.5 vDS. I'm trying to import several groups of ports in the vDS using powershell. The script is below. I'm under problems in trying to put the "Teaming and Failover" option to 'Route based on a physical load' by default 'Route based on originating virtual port' for the Group of individual ports, I know that I can do from the client, but I would like if possible do it with a script. Someone point me in the right direction? Port groups to import very well with all the correct settings, that I put, but I can't seem to find how to set the load balancing policy.

    to connect-viserver 'myvcenter '.

    $vds = Get VDSwitch -name "my Switch VD"

    Import-Csv c:\temp\vdsportgroup.csv | % {New-VDPortgroup -VDSwitch $vds -Name $_. Name -VlanId $_. {VlanId -NumPorts $_.ports}

    Edit: Scratch that I wrote earlier, it was with the older VDS cmdlets. This should work:

    Get-VDPortgroup MyVdPg | Get-VDUplinkTeamingPolicy | Game-VDUplinkTeamingPolicy - LoadBalancingPolicy LoadBalanceLoadBased

    You can simply direct the Group of newly created port directly object to cmdlets like this:

    Import-Csv c:\temp\vdsportgroup.csv | % {New-VDPortgroup - VDSwitch $vds - name $_.} Name - VlanId $_. VlanId - NumPorts $_.ports | Get-VDUplinkTeamingPolicy | Game-VDUplinkTeamingPolicy - LoadBalancingPolicy LoadBalanceLoadBased}

  • Using Powershell V3 to change the status of the power supply using WS-Management through iDRAC (PE r.620)

    Hi all

    I've been playing with WS-Management on the DRAC with PowerShell V3. I wanted to try to see if I could do the simple things. The task that I started has get and change of power on a PowerEdge r.620 State. I thought it would be fairly easy...

    Theres a lot written on this topic, but the examples from here

    http://en.community.Dell.com/TechCenter/systems-management/w/wiki/4374.how-to-build-and-execute-wsman-method-commands.aspx

    and here

    http://en.community.Dell.com/TechCenter/Extras/m/white_papers/20206146.aspx

    both use WinRM in their examples

    I find it quite difficult to understand how I would achieve the same results using WinRM, but using the new v3 PowerShell cmdlets (get-CimInstance, New-CimInstance, Set-CimIntance, Invoke-CimMethod, etc.)

    I'm ok, get the basic information from the DRAC using these commands, but I must admit that I am a little lost in how to manage things from the endpoint reference (EPR). Each example of WinRM speak back EPR, then using those of the WinRM method call, but I just can't see how to do this with the new PowerShell commands

    IM asking if someone did or has examples of how do?

    It would be great if the authors of these documents could provide examples in PowerShell v3

    The use of the battery has increased since the update to ios 10. Also, why can not disable the voice command. It's the most boring on the new update.

    Depending on what you mean by "voice command", either:

    Settings / general / accessibility / VoiceOver / OFF, or

    Settings / Siri / OFF

    As for your use of the battery, you can check what app pulls most of its use in the settings / battery.  A new version of the app is sometimes problematic, not necessarily iOS or iPhone.  If you see a unusual % of use of a particular application, or force-to leave it removal/reinstalling it or remove it until an update comes.  If anything seems unusual, it might be a problematic installation of iOS, in which case, you could backup your iPhone and restore it:

    I get a message: to use the 'java' command line tool, you must install a JDK.  I tried 10 times to install without success.  Help, please.

    You probably have some of the older than the needs/desires software legacy Java installed.

    Please see these sons of community message:

    After the installation of El Capitan, I get the message: to use the 'java' command line tool, you must install a JDK

    Just found this last Java does not work with El Capitan

    This is the Apple link to the legacy version of Java 6.

    First of all, I would like to try to identify what application generated the next message and update (delete) this request as the case may be. If you need to run Java then, as the Apple Support page says it's certainly preferable that your installation of Java entirely up-to-date with the Oracle's Java course. If you can get without Java, you should install it not - like the Flash, it should not be installed unless you have no choice.

  • How the names of variables and units used in the binary output file

    My colleague will give me LabView generated from the binary files (*.dat). There are more than 60 variables (columns) in the binary output file. I need to know the names of variables and units, which I think he has already configured in LabView. Is there a way for him to produce a file that contains the name of the variable and unity, so that I'll know what contains the binary file? It can create an equivalent ASCII file with a header indicating the name of the variable, but it does not list the units of each variable.

    As you can tell I'm not a user of LabView, so I apologize if this question makes no sense.

    Hi KE,.

    an ASCII (probably the csv format) file is just text - and contains all data (intentially) written to. There is no special function to include units or whatever!

    Your colleague must save the information it records the names and values in the same way...

    (When writing to text files, it could use WriteTextFile, FormatIntoFile, WriteToSpreadsheetFile, WriteBinaryFile even could serve...)

  • How to use the shutdown command to stop another computer?

    I just saw the setting-m to the shutdown command and decided to give it a whirl. However, when I pointed out the computer in question, I received a message that "a required privilege is not owned by the customer.

    What should I do to be able to use my laptop to turn off my old desktop computer? Both are running XP Professional SP3.
    Sometimes, I like reading or watching streaming video on Hulu on the laptop while lying in bed, and sometimes I play music if do the first, which is stored in the form of MP3 files on the desktop (which I access via a share). Be able to turn the office without getting up would be nice, but you do not get this option with Remote Desktop.

    Here is the result, the office is "slickswintel" (he's old, and since when I went first from Mac to Windows 98SE, although it is now a double XP/98) and the laptop is "slickslaptop".
    Both machines have unprivileged called 'Slick' on them local accounts that are my accounts on the day the main day. I have a different admin account, but I only use it as needed and use runas as often I log in fact.

    What should I do to get the following to work? In spite of the passing the MCSA Exam, I never learned about this feature, so I'm not sure what I should do to make it work? It'll work on a workgroup or is it only for domains? While I could set up a domain with the copy of the server I got from Dreamspark, I really didn't need one.

    As a general rule, you must have administrative privileges on the remote computer to shut down this computer.  Given that both computers have XP Pro, you are halfway there (remote users always authenticate as 'Guest' on XP Home).  The computer that you are trying to close must have "Simple file sharing" disabled because otherwise you can not authenticate to this computer as anything except the user "guest".  So try to disable Simple file sharing, make sure that your user name and password are the same on both computers and make sure you have administrative privileges on the remote computer, and then you can stop the machine with the command "shutdown".

    "How to disable the file sharing simple and how to set permissions on a shared folder in Windows XP"
      <>http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/307874 >

    In fact, it's easier to use the remote desktop.  Even if you do not have a "Shutdown" option in the start menu, you can always open a command prompt window (start-> Run-> "cmd") and enter the command:
    stop s f t 35
    This will give you 35 seconds to logoff this computer before its judgment (assuming that you have administrator privileges).
