using the oracle package provided
Hi allI would use this DBMS_LOCK pkg, but when I try to use it,
SQL> declare
2 val number:=40;
3 begin
4 dbms_lock.sleep(val);
5 end;
6 /
dbms_lock.sleep(val);
*
ERRORE alla riga 4:
ORA-06550: riga 4, colonna 1:
PLS-00201: identifier 'DBMS_LOCK' must be declared
ORA-06550: riga 4, colonna 1:
PL/SQL: Statement ignored
I checked if there are on the table from all_source and there are, so why can't I use it?Thank you
Francesco
If I remember correctly the execute privilege must be granted to the user directly (not good role)

Send an e-mail using the Oracle database
Hello!
I installed Oracle 10 g (10.2.0.4) and I need to send an email using this database. In some notes said to run the following script, but in my case Oracle I don't have the owner "MailSender" or the AptMail function.
Start
dbms_output.put_line (mailsender. AptMail ('p_from', 'p_to', null, null, 'p_subject', null, 'p_smtp_host', null, null, null));
END;
Can someone explain if it is the right method to send an email using the Oracle database? If so how can I install it?
Thank you
AugustoOracle 10.2 comes with UTL_MAIL package.
Give it a read through the documentation. It's pretty simple to use.

Greetings from St. John's Newfoundland. My wife has given car for my birthday washer and I wiped the ENTIRE hard drive, including the operating system. (XP). I have recovery CD but the computer will not read and install XP. I want to know it is if I buy a new hard drive, can I use the activation number provided with my computer to re - install Windows XP?Hello
Yes, you can use the activation code for re - install Windows XP.
Note: If you have exceeded the number of times to activate the product, then you would not be able to activate, you may need to contact the manufacturer to perform a factory restore.

Newer versions of oracle have implemented a great new technology to help solve problems, called "error messages." Unfortunately, I can't find any reference to an error message named 'is no longer able to connect.
And why you are moving your site from inventory? When you have installed oracle, he put the inventory where he wanted. There is no reason to try to change or replace.

Can I add watermarks to PDF files using the PDF package?
Can I add watermarks to PDF files using the PDF package?
Hi Susannah,
Adobe PDF Pack does not allow to edit a PDF file. To do this, you would need Acrobat. We invite you to try Acrobat free for 30 days: see http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html for more information.
This help document describes how to watermark a PDF in Acrobat: add watermarks to PDF

Application is not able to connect using the Oracle SCAN chain
Dear Oracle gurus
We have 11g r2 11.2.0.3.0 2 cluster nodes
We have configured the scanning using scan-vip single using/etc/hosts file resolution
Our app to work correctly using the string of double local Vip (10g method)
Scan works very well in the database server when we check using sqlplus
Works very well in the database server Oracle SCAN
Sqlplus DB - 1 test bench / testbed@my-db-scan:1521 / orcl
When we use it below URL JDBC in Tomcat Version-6 then "doesn't allow not to connect even if there will connect a while but connectivity isn't stable when we reboot the tomcat"
Hibernate.Connection.URL=jdbc:Oracle:Thin:@My-DB-Scan:1521/ORCL
Application is not able to connect using the Oracle SCAN chain

SSL mutual authentication using the Oracle stored procedure
Hello
DB version:
Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64 bit Production
Is possible to perform mutual authentication SSL uses the Oracle stored procedure?
I read articles and forums saying that it is not a good approach to call the Web service using the Oracle procedure (and I don't know if it's even possible authentication using procs). But I would like to know if it's possible and how.
In other is words there a way to incorporate the client certificate information into a procedure that calls a Web service.
I read the articles to do it in JAVA or .net. But please advice how we can achieve using Oracle procedures.
Thank you.934451 wrote:

To learn more. SSL what for?
Oracle PL/SQL only supports client standard TCP sockets. However, interface for HTTP, Oracle PL/SQL also supports HTTPS - which requires the certificates of authentication of the server to be stored in a portfolio of Oracle web and used during the transmission via HTTPS. See the code example {message identifier: = 1925297} for more details.

Forums and articles written by idiots. For idiots.
And no, I'm not to embellish my response to this pitch that you met. It is false. It is written by ignorant people who don't know ANYTHING about the use of Oracle and PL/SQL. And feel free to forward my response to these idiots. They find me here if they want to argue...
As an example of how to call a web service, see {message identifier: = 10158148} and {message: id = 10448611}.

the variable name of database query to SQL Server using the Oracle database link
Hi all
I have an ApEx 4.1 application running on x 64 (11.2.0.1) 11g on Windows Server 2008 x 64, and I have a few points of data integration with SQL (2005 and 2008) server that I need to create. I have configured the database with dg4odbc link and it works perfectly... I can run queries on the SQL Server database without any problem using the database link.
However, there is a scenario where the SQL Server database name is dynamic, and I need to generate on the fly in a PL/SQL block and then use it in a query dynamic SQL (all this in the ApEx). It of wherever I meet problems... when I asked the default database that is based on the ODBC connection and I don't have to specify the name of the database, no problem. But when I need access to one of the several other databases by default, I received the error "invalid table.
It works well:* (note that 'fv' is the name of my database link)
v_query1: = "select 'Release Date' from dbo." Schedules@FV where dbo. Annexes. "" SchedID "=: calendar";
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE v_query1 in rel_date using the grid.
I then take this rel_date variable, convert a varchar2 (rel_date_char), then use it as the name of the database in the following query...
_ It returns an error(error ORA-00903: invalid table name)
v_query2: = "select"PARTNO": rel_date_char.dbo.ProdDetails@fv where 'SchedID' =: calendar and"UnitID"=: unit"
and 'MasterKey' =: master and "ParentKey" =: parent';
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE v_query2 in part_number using planning, master, parent unit;
I also tried using all of the following conditions without result:
"select"PARTNO"of" | : rel_date_char | '.dbo. ProdDetails@fv where 'SchedID '...
"select"PARTNO"of" | rel_date_char | '.dbo. ProdDetails@fv where 'SchedID '...
"select"PARTNO"of" | @rel_date_char | '.dbo. ProdDetails@fv where 'SchedID '...
"select"PARTNO"in @rel_date_char.dbo.ProdDetails @fv where 'SchedID'..."
Is it possible to do it in PL/SQL?
Thanks for any help!

=> instead of executing the statement using the "execute Immediate" we use the PASTHROUGH package to pass the statement to SQL Server.

Can we use the same package for main and begotten of concurrent programs.
Hello
I use a package.procedure1 for a simultaneous program. Can I use the same package.procedure2 of a pondu simultaneous program which was called from package.procedure1? If I say incompatible as the same program of 1, which will create problems by running the 2nd program because the package is same?
Thank you

Yes you can.

When you second the 2nd program it will not work if the 1st program execution, and he has to wait until you have completed the 1st program.
Don't know what code you use in the first and second procedures or even in the whole, but you can try this in a TEST instance first and check whether or not it works as expected.
Thank you

I guess you're hurting understand the definition of Client instant, there isn't a tool or application or tool GUI as a sql developer or another that you can start using. It's just client installed with the minimum characteristics
If you want to use the right application tool install sql developer in your instant client or simply running sqlplusSee you soon

Madhu K.UTL_MAIL is the new package to send mail from PL/SQL. UTL_SMTP was the package to do before 10.1.
Normally, you would ask the administrator of the mail server if they are really running the SMTP server on a very unusual port on that server. Except that you can manually telnet to the server specified on the specified port, type "HELO" and see what was the answer. If there's nothing listening on the port, the telnet session fails. If there is an SMTP server listens on this port, it must respond to the HELO command.

Download RH8 TFS using the VSTS MSSCCI Provider plug-in
I've upgraded a project of online help in RoboHelp X 5 existing to RH8 and then imported to the subjects of another project RH8 inside. The total number of subjects exceeds 2500. I also created about 20 cases in the project manager to separate topics.
After that, I used the VSTS MSSCCI Provider plug-in to download this project on a TFS team project. At the beginning everything worked fine, but when I tried to download the TFS source to another system, number of cases did not appear in the project manager pane, and there was a large number of broken links. Also, the .mpj file was no longer available.
Why am I having this problem, and is there any workaround or solution for the same?
It seems that you have not installed Version 8 fixes before the opening of projects. Who can do a lot of damage.
See the projects on my site where there are instructions on how to fix things.
If you still have your X 5 backups, it might be easier to start the upgrade. Metatarsophalangeal joint is an old file which has been replaced by the XPJ in X 5.
See www.grainge.org for creating tips and RoboHelp

After using the export_excel package of some cells in the display worksheet "#". If the cell is selected displays the data, but it disappears when you exit the cell and try to print it. Anyone know what causes this problem?
Thank youHello
From the following link, the maximum width of a column in Excel 2000 is 255 characters: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/264626
So, it seems that you may need to be upgraded, divide the cell into 2 or more cells, or add in a few line breaks?

Steps using the DBMS_PROFILER package.
Hi all
I'd like to collect statistics for my stored procedure using DBMS_PROFILER package, but when I run the package by using the sample below, I get the following errors. I read the Oracle documentation, you need to have some loaded scripts (PROFTAB.sql.) etc. to execute it.

Impossible to compile the Java Code using the Oracle API
Hi all
I use the following code for use in Oracle 11 g. What pots of IOM should I include to get this to compile? I seem to have all the necessary jars, except the one that contains Thor.API.Operations... If someone could point me in the right direction for this, I would be very grateful.
package AdTest;
Thor.API import. *;
Import Java.util;

tcResultSet childFormDef = (f.getProcessFormDefinitionKey (pKey), f.getProcessFormVersion (pKey)) f.getChildFormDefinition;
childKey long = childFormDef.getLongValue ("Structure Utility.Child Tables.Child Key"); If there is only 1 child for the form table parent on the other you have to iterate over the result set
Map attrChildData = new HashMap();
String NUGroupe = "someValue";
attrChildData.put ("UD_ADUSRC_GROUPNAME", NUGroupe);
f.addProcessFormChildData (childKey, pKey, attrChildData);
} catch (Exception e) {}
