using the Update Manager

Hello

I installed a plug-in for the Update Manager. I have well configured my proxy (test).

I started "Edit update download Assistant". I see that it started to download something... now this info is off 'to-do bar' and I don't know if it is finished or not.

How can I see if she ended up downloading all the updates for my ESX nodes? Where are stored these updates?

Thx for your help

You must at least 3.0.3 for AUVS to work.  However, from 3.0.x I highly recommend a reconstruction.

  • How to use the update updates 5.1.0a to 5.1.0b?

    Sorry, I'm a newbie.

Can someone please advise me on how to upgrade my ESXi of either 5.1.0 & 5.1.0a to 5.1.0b using the Update Manager?

Is it possible to update without having to use the ISO (using the installation of patches)?

    I have 2 main questions:

    1. impossible to update Manager (someone has helped me create a baseline using downloaded ISO "VIMsetup")

-Guest disconnected with weird error console (sorry no screenshots that I discovered that it was a NETWORK card driver problem much later)

-Blocked 26% (if you use the Update Manager)

-some weird message on console, can only view or list a few config

    2. cannot perform direct upgrade of iso or disc bootable on Dell G 12 servers (Dell R320 & r.620)

-No found NETWORK card (if you use disks or virtual disks via iso mount)

The file ~3.4GB (arther than 3 TB) you mention is very probably the package of vCenter Server (VMware-VIMSetup-all - 5.1.0 - 947939) and does not contain installation ESXi (VMware-VMvisor-Installer - 5.1.0 - 799733.x86_64.iso).

Update Manager cannot be used to update or patch vCenter Server, but only the ESXi hosts (or virtual appliances).

  • Automatic shutdown of the virtual machines in the Update Manager

Is it possible to automatically stop the virtual machines as part of the Update Manager?  We have our virtual machines configured for auto power off/start with the host.  But when we apply a lot of patching ESX using the Update Manager, he waits for us to stop manually before putting the host in maintenance mode.

Any way to automate that? Thank you!

But when we apply a lot of patching ESX using the Update Manager, he waits for us to stop manually before putting the host in maintenance mode.

Lol WHA each fails to accomplish is ESX is an enterprise product, it must be used with vMotion.  If the Update Manager is designed to make this easy and pain free, so if you have the shared storage, your VM will migrate to another host, maintenance is done, and the virtual machine back.

ESX is essentially a hands on environment.  I know everyone can't afford a SAN, but ESX caters to these large enterprise systems that do not have SAN.

By making a patch, so we are now toward the Windows stand alone everyday server where you have done EACH server, or do it manually power off / closure of EACH virtual machine is EVEN easier to do this 1 by 1 on EACH physical host.

Consider so it cannot be the best option, it isn't that hard to select ALL VM under tension and click "shut down guest.  Besides that if you plan for a breakdown, you can stop the VM remotely (if windows) by using a shutdown script.

There are a lot of options to do this, but there is no stopping the VM before update, you must do it manually.

  • remove the update manager updates

I use the Update Manager.  I downloaded a large number of updates that are no longer applicable in my environment and I would like to remove them from the repository so that they are not occupy disk space.  For example, I have more esx 3.0.3 in my environment and I would only the updates that I had downloaded previously removed from the repository.  Anyway is to do.  I see where they are stored on the VirtualCenter server, but I'm reluctant just go and delete the folder containing the esx updates - 3.0.3.

    Thanks for the help.

This has been an of my by peeves on VUM since its inception. You can not manage the files it downloads. Once downloaded, it is in the database. If the files get damaged, the only way to refresh the files is a re - install Crossover with a database reset. It is the same on the files that you no longer need. No way to get rid of them in the MUV.

You can use Windows Explorer to delete files, but VUM will always think they are here.

    Hello

I have problems with adobe lightroom.  It is not updated when I use the application manager to download the new updates.  I tried to uninstall the application and re-download it, however the application manager will not allow that to happen because it shows that it is already installed and up to date. I think that the problem may have started when I installed lightroom using a link which you offered when creative cloud first started offering of lightroom.  This version of the program does not appear to work with the application manager.  Please let me know what I should do to fix the problem.

For any question on any version of Microsoft Money, ask http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en/money/threads.

Make sure your data and Money backup files are in Documents or another non-protected area, not the default money Program Files or changes and updates will not be saved.

  • By using the Recovery Manager to repartition the HARD drive

I started a post a few days back on my pavilion DM1-3014AU netbook that runs on AMD APU-E350, 2 GB of ram and comes pre loaded with windows 7 Home Basic. I had a number of requests because I want to repartition the hard drive, do a fresh install of windows 7 my disc and I also want to keep some of the hp software.

After going through a few messages in this forum, I learned that we can use the Recovery Manager to do a minimal install, IE windows 7 and only the hp software. That's what I have to do unless I also want to repartition the hard drive.

I currently have 4 partitions, C drive, hp tools (hidden) and backup (hidden). I have already created recovery disks. Now, my questions are:-

    1. can I use recovery disks or Recovery Manager to delete all existing partitions and recreate my own partitions. This means that I would remove the recovery, tools and backup partitions.

    2. After doing the above I'll be able to do a minimal install (os + hp software) via the Recovery Manager or the recovery disks.

    3. my intutions are that I can accomplish the above two using the recovery disks and not the recovery partition. If the above two steps are possible using recovery discs, it would ultimately have no partition on my hard drive recovery. I will then be able to use the recovery disks in the future to make the same minimum install (os + hp software)

    4. I wouldn't really keep the recovery, tools and backup partitions if they can be of any complacency in the future but the reson why I want to delete them, is that windows 7 Home Basic allows no more than 4 partitions and I want to be able to create at least 4 partitions for my use.

Any help would be really appreciated...

Yes Vikrant... it is unnecessary to install UEFI to update BIOS.

Yes, if you install the update to the BIOS using the link I provided in my previous thead element, you can as a revert to a version of BIOS as soon as possible if you feel that the system is unstable.

Even if you reparition the whole HARD disk and do a manimized install, you can install the BIOS update in the future.

Updating the BIOS is independent if you did full recovery or minimizes recovery.

BIOS update will not affect the use of recovery disks and procedures. You can safely use them in the future without any problem.

You will use the ability to run F9 diagnostics incase of any software system crash, and you are unable to start Windows.

    Hi ellync,

You must disable the graphic processor of Lightroom preferences, but since the opening of its not, you can either method below.

    Please follow the Solution below

    1. Go to edit > preference > Performance > uncheck "processor chart use" If this does not solves the problem then,
    2. With Lightroom closed
    • Access

C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences    (Where AppData is a system folder / hidden so you may need to enter the name of the folder directly into your browser's address bar or activate hidden folders / system in the Internet Explorer view folder options.)

    • Open the file LightroomPreferences.agprefs
    • Locate the line use = True autobahn (press CTRL + F)
    • Take Autobahn use = False

    After save the file

    Restart Lightroom
