• Having a problem with vmotion between two hosts with processors Intel E5640

  Hi all.

  We organize a group of 14 guests, each with ESX 4.0, build 261974 installed.

  They are managed through vCenter 4.0.0 and construction 258672, vSphere client 4.0.0 builf 258672.

  The hosts are blades from IBM, in a BladecenterH.

  Some of the blades are older model HS21 (type 7995) with processors Intel Xeon E5440.

  The rest of the blades are more recent model HS22V (type 7871) with processors Intel Xeon E5640.

  We are currently replacing old HS21 blades with more the HS22 blades, so we just bought 7 HS22s, all with the same Intel E5640 processors located in the blades currently in service. One of the things that this transition will happen for us is allowing us to have the same processor type in all of our blades and remove vMotion compatibility problems we had in the past. We were unable to turn on CVS, because we would have had to shut down a cluster of virtual machines on the latest hosts and could not take this kind of failure. We will turn VCA after that.

  Here's the question:

  We just installed the first new knives, and when turn on us and try to vMotion VMs to it, it fails. He gives us the error standard vMotion on CPU register incompatibilities, and that we should read kb1993. The thing is, they all have the same processor. Same identifier type, same everything, yet for some reason vCenter is convinced they are incompatible. We checked things in BIOS, and they are all the same.

  We are ideas, other than the new knives have a later rev BIOS than the old ones.

  Any thoughts?

  According to the specifications of VMware Compatibility Guide: cpu (you can select both processors and compare them), Intel Westmere is registered to two processors as a mode of EVC supported.

  @chaox1013, welcome to the forum.

  Processors that are listed in the specs are those that have been fully tested to ensure that they will work without problem.  Does this mean that other processors don't work no - No!  However, this does not mean that you are yourself if you decide to try which is not on the list.  I've heard of cases where processors that were not on the list has worked, but there is certainly no guarantee.  The main thing you have to look at is the TDP.  It must match.

  You can't do the things that you asked your model laptop, except to intall a larger hard drive (maybe up to 250 GB).

  No other motherboards will fit in the case. An i series processor does not work with your current motherboard.

  Very doubtful an SSD will work in your model.

  I downloaded the HP website sp48847 and extract the files, but I don't know who. FD to use file.

  I have a 1400 dv4t with P7350 intel processor and bios are corrupt. It does not Flash by using the process of disconnecting the power remove the battery hold down power key B pluging and windows by pressing the power button / stop then release the keys B, button / stop and windows. It doesn't detect usb drive with any file flash bios on this subject, and I rename the file in 30F7. BIN.  At this point, I have to remove bios chip and flash with spi Flash bios I have. My only problem is that I don't know who. FD to use file.  I would be grateful if any body can help to know what file to use or a better idea altogether.

  I was told that the file 30F7F66D. FD is for 30F7F66U and AMD processor. FD is for processor intel, but I can't be sure since I have to remove and replace. I also use another computer to download these files and load on the wheel.   Dv4t-1400 does not start.

  I found a thread that has answered my question, the 30F7F66D file. FD is for discrete graphics and the 30F7F66U.fd file for

  integrated graphics (UMA).  Just thought I would give you insight in the case where you never came across this problem.

  Hola, soy nuevo LabView en y como are existential veran tengo problemas con el. Ayudenme a smear of ellos para seguir creciendo.

  Estoy intentando realize no generador señales in LabView, utilizando una placa DAQ: NI USB-6009.

  Aquí el programa than I am doing editor para lo miren what y can see el error.

  PROBLEMA:

  El programa genera las señales (senoidal, convex Tower, triangular, are of sierra y dc) y me muestra las in pantalla, pero no las envia has the DAQ y por lo tanto no las puedo ver en el osciloscopio conectado has the same.

  Revisando el block, hago doble click in el DAQmxBase Create Channel mientras esta in run y me muestra a salida error, that is the error 200559 y en source States: "task cannot contain a string with the specified channel type, because the task already contains channels with a different channel type. Create a task for each type of channel.

  Antes of purchased otro error (as no recuerdo el ID) said only: "I/O of the physical channel type does not match the type of I/O required for the virtual channel you create."

  No ha designed application correctamente. Try to use a single VI simulate Signal Express and place the DAQmx Base create Virtual Channel.vi and the DAQmx Base Start Task outside the while loop. That should el problema as esta receiving delivery.
