Verizon Droid revolts

Five days ago my Droid decided to turn off his own sporadically. No noise, no attention, just know when I'm going to wake up to use it also freezes with the white "M" logo appearing. The keyboard light does not illuminate. Cannot manually power off or on. Need to remove the battery constantly to try to restart. This may not work on the first try. No apps open at the time of the accident. VERY FRUSTRATING! Keep checked to see if phone is same now so I don't miss important messages etc. Help! Someone else knows this happen? It is under warranty but I customized it so that I don't want to replace it.

To me, this looks like a mechanical problem or hardware.  I vote also send it back.  Let us know how it goes.

  • No e-mail error with Outlook Express and Verizon Droid hotspot sending phone

Outlook Express using only email for years with dialup... no problem.  Now, using verizon droid phone hotspot to access the internet and can not send emails (can receive throughout the day). Help Verizon sent me say here that it is a question of Microsoft based on Error 0x800CCC0E.  Here is my error message: the connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.triton.net', server: 'mail.triton.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 10054, error number: 0x800CCC0E.

That's my next step, I guess.  If I can get a fix, I'll post.  I think I should just switch to web e-mail and say the hell with it as the hotspot works awsome for web browsing... may be the easiest option in the long term.  Thanks for your help so far, Bruce

  • THE ATTENTION! Verizon's Droid users training

I received the following from Verizon yesterday e-mail: subject: free in-store Droid Training Classes April Maximize your potential Droid - find out more on the tips, tricks and free applications that will help keep you up-to-date on what your new device can offer. Our courses are suitable for beginners as well as advanced users. RSVP today for one of the locations below for your FREE store available for the customer 15 training first by test based on a first come, first served. RSVP is strongly recommended but not required. [enamel even an area to provide questions you would probably say... incredible course] I was wondering if anyone else has received an invitation as nowhere else around the country and participated in one of the events.  If so, do you have feedback on the quality and the value of the same?  I guess they would have people doing the training bike (I hope ;-)). Matt, my friend... do you know something about this? I intend to attend one in the area of Annapolis, MD.  I was offered two slots to 24 24 stores across Maryland, Virginia and DC. If that's all it's cracked up to the to be, it will be a first, as much as I know, a provider of Service to meet a customers to provide specialized training on one of its Smartphones (actually the Droid and Eris).  One way!  What could possibly bring this, what with the sale of more than just the Verizon DROID smartphones.  I guess that this kind of squelches the idea that VZ doesn't care for that customer, perhaps, or some emphsis is on the Droid because the company is moving to greater things and better qualities (phones), you think? In any case, I'm going to attend one of them, and if you want, I'll report on the forum with my thoughts. If this training was put at your disposal, that you spend Verizon on it? Thank you, Captain

The captain, my Captain - I think you'll be completely overqualified for this training. Our friend Linda community went to one and I bet him a beer that she will lead the thing in five minutes. I won.

I still think it would be interesting to go but I wouldn't not too far from my way. And maybe I'm wrong and they will give away free "Droid Donuts" or something. At best, learn you something - at worst, you get a great chance to show off.

  • Droid - problem sending Email - BIG PROBLEM for many!

I've been back for quite some time trying to set up my work email.   I got everything to work some time ago, except for sending, response or message transfer.  You can see my previous post on this regarding

Anyway, I wanted to let everyone know that I discovered, as apparently a lot of people will not be able to send, answer or transfer e-mails using their phone.

I talked to a technician at verizon who told me that verizon used to provide SMTP servers by courtesy, but no longer do.  I was told that I had to check my email provider to get their SMTP information.  Unfortunately, my e-mail provider does NOT provide SMTP servers.  So basically the tech told me that I won't be able to send, to meet or to transfer emails through my phone.  The technology could not tell me why verizon ceased to use the SMTP servers, but read quite a long list of some popular mail providers who don't provide the SMTP servers and so anyone who tries to use these emails would have the same problem as me and not be able to send emails through their phone (tech shook off a certain big email providers that do not provide the servers SMTP. For example, according to me, that said, that Comcast has no?) -. Anyway, apparently Blackberry provides its own email service, so if you have a Blackberry it wouldn't matter.  I'm quite surprised that the Droid is a smartphone, will not be able to send different emails to a large number of e-mail providers.  So my question, why verizon would stop providing SMTP servers so for many email providers, it is the only way you would be able to send e-mail.  Shouldn't the (Motorola), or verizon Droid, do something about it?  I think it is crazy enough to not be able to use your email on a smartphone, not to mention the most recent smartphones.  They should not get the same thing that Blackberry made so that you can send emails or verizon should not provide SMTP servers so that this could happen.  Fortunately for me I love the Droid for several other reasons, and it is not an absolute necessity to be able to send my work email (although it would make things a LOT easier), but I can def. see how that annoy people and get them to get another phone that allows them to use their electronic mail.

  • Can you Record calls on Moto Droid? All the apps? Most of the legal States

Any Verizon Droid phone model is worthless if I can't record phone calls, both sides as my Palm phone. What is legal in the U.S. States, some N.C. wort... I've heard rumors that Verizon's Motorola Droid does not permit recording of phone calls without the old vacuum and a recorder separated... really of the 70s. Does anyone know of an app. I have googled and looked everywhere, but must have missed it. Thanks: [email protected]

"No matter what model of phone Verizon Droid is worthless if I can't record phone calls, both sides as my Palm phone"

This is what it takes to make a phone without value? There is no suction cup which is compatible with most mobile phones and they do not work with smartphones. How you would cover the speaker and the microphone of a suction device and then still hear and talk into it?

This Palm phone is maybe what you really need.

    You hear rumors?

  • Droid SMS sent/received times?

I recently had a (service through Verizon) Droid and ran into a little problem.

When I receive an SMS, it lists a "sent" time, but that time is not the time the message was sent, but rather when I received it.  This means that if I have an SMS sent to me while my phone is turned off, it will list always time 'sent' as when I turned on my phone back.  Not very useful.  Any ideas on how to solve this problem? (or is there no solution with the current version of the android OS?)

I think that the motorcycle or Google devs are aware of this and it is apparently on the menu "correction". I never mine turn off

  • Settings for Web site deleted for the Droid

    Verizon droid:

May have deleted the two entries in the Web site settings. Is there a method to recreate these two entries? They were the two URLs. So much for Google.com, except one, was for Google.com/uk or something to that effect. It has no negative effect on the performance of the phone. It still works gr8.

I don't think it has an effect on the phone.  It gives sites permission to access certain features of the phone.  The only entry I have is google and that's where, so it can access location based using gps information.  Go to the site should add again.  If this is not the case, see if your phone will list a location on the homepage of google down.

  • Droid A855 USB cables are not the same.

I have nearly 20 of the Verizon Droid. We used Treo pro for Sprint, but they have been undermined by the poor coverage of Sprint and a rate of 25% of failure in a year.

When I got the Droid A855, I tried using that Treo Chargers and it worked very well. However, if I used a USB cable from the Treo to a USB charger, the screen would go crazy until the cable has been removed. I got the same results of OEM Samsung cables that would be compatible with the Droid. I had to return 10 of the Samsung cables after attempting to convince the seller that they do not work on the Motorola Droid A855.

After reading some of the discussions on this site, I got the impression that there is a USB standard following cell phones. My experience is just the opposite. Anyone can comment on this fact?  Can I buy a cable from someone else than Motorola and operate in the USB Chargers?

I believe that the question can be some of your instruction ect but shielding the supply itself is a more important factor. USB is not very consistent as a source of energy. The only battery charger, I bought today from verizon said he did not use a normal usb computer cable and charge the batttery. I've had questions, thinking that it was the cable, experimenting different supplies of cables and charger it is the charger port or usb, not on the cable. I also use a generic cable and one who came with an LG Dare phone and three others, seem all verizon/Motorola. All work fine as long as two or three lightwieght chargers are not used. These same circumstances are repeated with the Ipone has my son, even if we don't change cables, Chargers fair.

  • No synchronization to Firefox Android bookmarks

Don't Synchronize bookmarks in Firefox for Android version 33.0

Can I synchronize Firefox between the computer (XP, Vista, Windows7) and a Samsung Galaxy S4
(Verizon SCH-I545) on Android 4.4.2 and a Verizon Droid 2 Global Android 2.3.4
using a Firefox 885 bookmarks account.

When I sync either phone or phone with another account with 6334 bookmarks Gets a
bookmarks. The app does not appear even a folder for office bookmark icon, some
Mozilla bookmarks. If I try to sync just bookmarks I get the same thing.

I can switch between the two account and on two phones for consistent results.
To ensure a clean sync, I deleted the phone account, deleted the cache and the data of
the app then signed with the other account.

I followed the procedure for access to the synchronization log and looks like it indicates
success. https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/1012768 is a related issue and
that I found how to activate synchronization logs.

My Favorites from Chrome with Chrome sync for android very well.

I had not used the Firefox browser for a few years and he tried again after the good reviews and
then an article on the cast of Firefox on my device for streaming to Roku with Firefox Beta, Firefox for Android 33.0. Casting works fine on both.

Note that on Windows 7 Firefox installation Chrome bookmarks are identified
as any since Firefox not Chrome. On Windows Vista, they are in the imported from
    Folder of Google Chrome.

We limit strict bookmarks to 5000, because the risk of corruption is too high. I'm afraid that you will need a different approach: cut them down, use Pinboard.in, or something else.

  • Document change control

There are a lot of comments on what is broken, how to get around things, tips, etc. but where (if anywhere) is the document change control that everyone tells the world of what has changed? The two updates since the version put Verizon Droid X user manual? I guess I'll print one and look. But seriously, are there not a document that shows what the DESTINY changes that were planned for this version?

If I failed to point me in the right direction because I've seen bits and pieces and that is through multiple views on several boards of Directors.

    Thanks in advance;

    GS

I saw it on the shelf, next to their 'régression Test Procédures' manual!

    Verizon droid RAZR max
Call log only shows recent and doesn't let you do a journal of everything just do not miss after Ics
You used to be able to select different "missed" call logs Entrants and the GOI.
The 'recent' tab does not draw down to offer the option.
    Is this corrected?

    ISSUE OF NEWSPAPER CALL FAILED:

Although the option 'list missed calls' is not viewable by itself; There are two ways to easily identify your missed calls. One way is to the home screen... (when the icon appears, you ' pull down' your screen info bar) and the other by the icons in your list of "recent" calls

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Radio path unavailable - Curve 8310

    Hey all,.

Today, I can't call a phone number that I use every day.  It doesn't ring when I dial the number, I get this annoyed ding-ding-ding! tone and an error message on my phone saying "Radio path unavailable".  I use AT & T and the network in Houston Texas and I can't call the local number.  However, I can call other numbers of fixed and mobile phone local calls (even from the number I can not connect to).  In past messages, people say there is a problem with Blackberry and their tricks, so I call them to report this and get a response when it will be fixed... any other advice is appreciated, thanks.

PS. I rebooted my phone with battery and removing the SIM card and it solves nothing.

    -Annoyed

I spent hours on the phone trying to solve this problem.  All first with AT & T and the Blackberry (1-877-255-2377 in the case that you can do better).  None were able to tell me what was the cause of the problem or fix.  I discover that other AT & T phones other than Blackberry users WERE able to call and connect to the number I can't... not only that, but one another Blackberry user on the AT & T network could not dial the number either! BlackBerry wanted to transfer me to AT & T and I asked the rep Blackberry to guide me through the update of software which I spent 15 minutes listening in silence and I am frustrated because the Blackberry updates are not automatic like the Verizon Droid, you will need to plug into a PC via USB - lame.  I gave up at this point and decided to switch my phone to something, anything!, other than a Blackberry and get this.   During these telephone conversations I repeatedly the number dialed and received the error message "Path unavailable Radio" - and I was on the phone with AT & T and the Blackberry in the fixed network - after ALL this I tried calling the number once more and guess what... IT WORKED AGAIN! Thanks for nothing - I knew it was the freaking early towers - BLACKBERRY is the worst cell phone in existence. -Well bored

PS thanks to God I have VERIZON and a DROID... it was for my mother's phone, she couldn't call my grandmother fixed...

  • HP Laserjet Pro M1217nfw, in-home ePrint & Biz on Android devices

Got my new LaserJet Pro M1217nfw installed on my home (secure) wireless network and am 3 laptops wireless printing windows.

Started trying to get my smartphones to connect and print. Verizon droid X, Verizon update running last gingerbread. Download ePrint and ePrint home & Biz to him. Updated my printer to the latest firmware and SmartInstall, got an e-mail address EPrint are entrusted to him. Am able to ePrint phone just fine, but home & Biz does not print, it detects the printer and said has printed the file, doc or pic, but nothing comes out on the printer. I see your list of printers is not supported

supported on th 1217nfw. He plans to work on it in the future? Can give you my some advice or workarounds if it is possible to return home and Biz to work?

I tried the service wirelessly directly on the printer, but don't really understand its purpose, as my phone and printer are both

connected to my local wireless network, why live wireless using a different SSID and assign an IP fixed?

in any case disabled this feature.

    Thanks for any help!

Since both printers are capable ePrint and wireless printers, it is possible to print from your Android phone.

To do this make sure that your printer and your phone are both connected to the network. Download and install the free ePrint home & Biz application from the Android market.

If you have followed the manual above, it should be a quick process to be able to print from your phone.

However, if you're having trouble feel free to call online services ePrint at 855-785-2777.

    I hope this helps!
