  *.mny file created on PC does not load on laptop computer (file format?) - *.mbf files will not restore one or the other...

• Where can I find English UK version of money more sunset

  The Microsoft Download area only seems to have a U.S. version of Microsoft Money more sunset and my data was created on a UK English version that does not load in the American version. There is a UK English version? Download instructions make this problem clear but indicates only where the UK version and the work around (via an export .qif) is very talkative to the amount of data that I have in my folder.

• I am using Microsoft Money 2000. Can I switch to a newer version when it becomes available?

  I have Microsoft Money as part of Microsoft Works.  I would like to move so I can import my Money files in Quicken.  This only works with the latest versions of Microsoft Money (2007 and 2008)

  Unfortunately, no newer version of money will become available since the program was discontinued. You would need to buy Money 2007 or 2008, install it and then import your Money files in Quicken. I see that Amazon is still selling money 2008.

• Microsoft Money Sunset UK Version

  I'm short of money sunset on a Mac under VM ware.  It has been working fine but suddenly stopped working - I guess that an update has corrupted files.

  Unfortunately I lost the installation files, and they are no longer available on the download site - they point only to the American version of the UK site.

  Does anyone have a set of UK version sunset of money that they could share with me?  The only copy I have is on a Windows Server machine with a broken power - can't get to bits.

• Microsoft Money - when closing down, it saves ok but there is a message saying that the operation cannot be completed. I then use the Task Manager to complete.

  I use Money version 1105, 2004 updated.  I have 2 qusstions-

  Make sure your data and Money backup files are in Documents or another non-protected area, not the default money Program Files or changes and updates will not be saved.

  Unless you are in the USA, the version of Money 2005 (released in 2004) 14.0.120.1105 is the latest available. Sunset silver bed only U.S. data files.

• Silver 'Sunset' version

  This just started happening: version using 'Sunset' money, on log automatic get: file download, name: MNYxxx.surfplace, Type: Surfboard Shim Doc View object, x.xxkb, in: surf.mar @ [open] [Save] [Cancel} never had it before until 2 days ago. When click on the 1st time I get log-in for the password. After I entered the word password goes in the program, he appears once again and when I click on new I am thrown out of the program. No matter what I try I do not have access to my files. I need HELP quickly and desperately!

  I use the International Version 14 of Microsoft Money in Australia and have 15 years of data, I need to keep access to.

  There is a conversion tool from third party (Quicken) to Australian customers - International version 17 of MS money.

  Anyone know how I can convert my money in Version 17 files Version 14 files, so that I can use the Quicken Converter?

  The Microsoft Web site has a silver Version 17 by download, but it of a United States version only and will not work with my files of Version 14 International.

  I can't wait to hear from someone who has been able to get their Version 14 International Money converted using the Australian converted Quicken files.

  I just changed to a new PC with Windows 7 and load of MS Money 2005 I already ran on my Windows XP machine. It will not open now the my money file. It says it cannot find or open the file "C:\Users\Derek\Documents\my accounts.mny", although the file is there and creates a backup file MS Money 2004 in the same place.

  I remember having this problem last time I changed my PC, there was a problem, the problem is something to do with the dates, I think, but unfortunately I don't remember what was the fix.

  This problem may occur if the backup file or data file from a version of money that is later than the version of Money you are trying to use. Microsoft Money Plus is the latest version of the available money.

  To work around this problem, install the latest version of money that corresponds to the version of your data file, or install the latest version of Microsoft Money. The money is designed to be compatible with some previous Money data files. For example, if you currently have Money 2006 installed on your computer, you should be able to open a Microsoft Money 2003 data file.

  You can download and install the trial version of Money Plus. You should be able to restore the backup file.
  Once that the backup is restored, make a backup in this edition of Microsoft Money. Now, install the Microsoft Money 2003 and you will be able to restore it.

  Does anyone know if money 2004 will work with windows 8 or 8.1? (don't know which one it is but one of them) If it is not that I'm looking for something similar. Suggestions for personal finance software that does not require going back me to school to learn how to use it, and it's not strictly based web.
