Version of the execution of database without connection

Hi all

I have a machine to test (Oracle Linux) where some databases are running, 4 different versions.

Is it possible to know the version of one of them, without connecting to it? Of course, I can try all versions, but I would like to know if it is possible to avoid it.

Thanks in advance.

Guido

Hello

You can do this, but not sure that it's better to simply log - here's how it might work...

ps - ef | grep pmon

(find the pid of pmon)

then

lsof | grep | grep oraus.msb

This will show you the House running the pmon process go

You can then pass this House in this command

/ Lsinventory OPatch/opatch-oh | grep "Oracle Database".

which gives the result

Oracle Database 11g 11.2.0.2.0

I guess you could script all that much up?

See you soon,.

    In your Xquery use the syntax "context: completeTaskOnExit ($context, $exitStatus).

    Set these two variables ($context, $exitStatus) according to your required exit status.

    Hope this has helped.

  • Possible to access the service materials? (without connection to a user account)

    I'm curious to know if there are problems with access to hardware OR a program running as a service (IE with no user logged on to the computer). I'm about to start development on a service addressing a NOR-IMAQ device, and I need to begin to acquire data when the computer starts without connecting to a user account. I don't know if access to an INTERFACE created in NOR-MAX requires that a user be logged.

    It will run on Windows 7.

    I appreciate any idea. Thank you!

    I had time to do a basic test and was able to capture data from a camera through IMAQ and store on the disk without the need to log on successfully. The service launched at startup and a lot of stored data before I had the chance to open a session.

  • How to know the version of the software of database exect

    Hello

    OEL 5.4

    Some 3rd third party provider was dispatched to upgrade our 10g to 11g database.
    They installed the software of 11g on our server for a new Oracle home. Are simply loading software.
    They did not create a database because it will be used for the upgrade of our database later.
    The seller also upgrade the Oracle software for 11.1.0.7 thanks a patch.
    I understand that you can apply a patch to an Oracle Home software, even if she has no right of database?

    My question is how can I know the exact Oracle Home software version if it does not yet in database?
    What is the command to verify or show? just to confirm if they have successfully installed the hotfix.

    Thank you very much

    Ms. K

    Well, to apply the #7111245 patch, download the version for your binaries. You have not all patches installed on your OH, then download the one of 11.1.0.7.0.

  • Cannot create the data store: the current licence or ESXi version prohibited the execution of the requested operation.

    using vicfg-nas I am unable to create/remove a datastore nfs on my lab running esxi 6 at home. Is this not supported? Listing them works well. I can create/delete data warehouses nfs using the client to vcenter very well, but it's a little embarrassing.

    I guess that the host is allowed with the free edition of hypervisor! One of the few restrictions of the free version of hypervisor is access to the API. In order to have "write access" (i.e. change things rather than the list of them) you must run the host in evaluation mode, or license (Essentials or better).

    In our case when we improve our database to 10.2.0.2 to 10.2.0.4 didn't us connect with the catalogue. After the upgrade of the database catalog in 10.2.0.4 we took over with the RMAN backup.

    You can take the RMAN backup without a catalog database.

  • Impdp not connect to the database without error returns

    Kind regards.

    Please ask your usual support, motivated, that I am facing a strange problem.

    I recently did an expdp of different actions, the database on which the export is carried out version 10.2.0.4 Now, I'm doing impdp on a database whose version is 10.2.0.5.

    The Datapump not return any errors, does not seem to connect to the database, the impdp log shows:

    ;;;

    Import: Version 10.2.0.5.0 - 64 bit Production on Friday, August 7, 2015 11:13:43

    ;;;

    Connected to: Oracle Database 10 g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64 bit Production

    With the partitioning, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options

    I wonder if this is a bug or compatibility of version of the problem.

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards.

    The first thing I see is that you specify on the impdp command expdp.par.  This can work, but don't forget, there are expdp parameters that do not work in impdp. This should give an error, but not knowing what is in the file, it is difficult to see what might happen.

    You can add trace = ff0b00 and then watch to see is it y * dw*.trc files were created.  If not, then it is failing in the treatment of your settings and you want to in the last * dm*.trc file can help out you.

  • ORA-03134: connections to this version of the server are no longer supported in 11.2 to 9.2.0.8 database

    Hello

    I use the ODP.NET 11.2 (Oracle.DataAccess.dll 4.112.3.0) for .NET 4.5 (in Visual Studio 2012). I can connect to 11g databases but when trying to connect to 9.2.0.8 database, this error is thrown:

    ORA-03134: connections to this version of the server are no longer supported

    I do not understand why, like I could connect using Toad, but not a .NET application.

    Furthermore, I use Windows 7 64 bit.

    Any idea?

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave

    Hi Dave,.

    I see that you have version 12 of the supplier in the GAC (i.e. Version = 4.121.1.0). But only for the x 86 and you mentioned that you had Windows 7 64 bit. Your application is compiled as x 86, x 64 or Any CPU?

    You have confirmed that your application does not load this version? For example, because policy redirects in the GAC (such as Policy.4.112.Oracle.DataAccess, Version = 4.121.1.0).

    You can use a tool such as SysInternals Process Explorer or the Assembly Binding Log Viewer (i.e. the SDK fuslogvw) to confirm if necessary.

    It is true that version 12 would return ORA-3134 when you attempt to connect to a database of 9.2 because this combination is not supported.

    Thank you

  • Unable to connect to the local database (without using the tnsname)

    Hi guys
    I have 2 database running on the local computer.

    Db1 SID - orcl (install 1)
    DB2 SID - unicode (later installation)

    Today I stop the basic unicode and stop its respective services.

    on the back
    I did a sqlplus scott/tiger, I got an error
    ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error

    That's why
    I did a
    Set ORACLE_SID = orcl

    and I still get the same error.
    -------------------------------------------------

    So I'm the other way around. I orcl database stop, stop its services and database unicode to START and its services.

    I disassembled the ORACLE_SID environment variable.

    Now, I have in the command prompt
    sqlplus scott/tiger

    I am connected to the unicode database!
    -------------------------------------------------

    Now I ORCL stop unicode data and start...

    and I have a
    sqlplus scott/tiger@ORCL...

    I HAVE no problem to connect to it...
    --------------------------------------------------

    May I ask why should I provide the TNSname ORCL database and I do not for the UNICODE of the databases...
    Both are local on my database.

    What's wrong?

    Moreover, I am on XP.
    Thank you!

    Set ORACLE_SID = orcl
    sqlplus / as sysdba;
    sys@ORCL > exit

    Set ORACLE_SID = unicode
    sqlplus / as sysdba;
    sys@Unicode > exit

    Well, we know that both your DBs are working properly.

    So out of curiosity, I did cela tests...
    (1) connect the two database and stop
    (2) stop their services
    (3) start only ORCL service
    (4) close and reopen the command prompt to delete the var of environment ORACLE_SID

    sqlplus / as sysdba;
    Error: ORA-12560: TNS: Protocol adapter error

    (5) now I stop service ORCL
    (6) (and I start the service of UNICODE)

    then I deliver

    sqlplus / as sysdba;
    sys@Unicode >

    It seems quite normal. In your registry value ORACLE_SID is, most likely, unicode, the last created: check it out, and if so, you can connect to unicode DB without setting ORACLE_SID, while you will need to set to connect to DB orcl.

    When you have more than one DB, you set the ORACLE_SID environment variable before connecting either you use connection strings.

  • Create the new database without PDB or without using C#.

    Dear all

    I am able to create the database table in oracle 12 c with prefix c#, while I want to create without prefix. I read all the documents, but still, I don't understand. can anyone explain that

    I use the following command to create the database

    create the c ##test user identified by test;

    Grant connect, resources to c ##test;

    grant imp_full_database c ##test;

    grant permission to c ##test;

    Sandy

    Oracle-DBA-Sundar says:

    Hello

    Alter system set COMMON_USER_PREFIX==''

    create user test123 identified by test123;

    Above may work

    Thank you

    Sundar

    Sometimes I wish we could downvote or dislike some of the answers.

    Even when it works, it is not correct to do so. The problem was how to distinguish between normal users in a PDB file and common users. I guess that the original poster must simply learn to switch / connect on a preliminary draft budget, where it can create users just like it was before. And the cause, it must first of all a PDB file.

    Instead he will now create common users and use these users just as local, thus throwing the whole concept shared in the drain.

    The user command to create now has an additional parameter 'container '. I use in scripts to prevent the execution of a script in the bad environment (CBD/PDB).

    In a CBD, this will create a common user. The default container clause is ALL here.

    create user mycomm identified by mycomm container=all;

    This creates a local user in a PDB file. The default container clause CURRENT here.

    SELECT NAME, OPEN_MODE, RESTRICTED, OPEN_TIME FROM V$PDBS;

    alter session set container = PDB1
    create user mylocal identified by mylocal container=current;

    BTW. I don't see a major issue to create ordinary users without the c# # prefix, as long as you know exactly what you are doing. I see the prefix C# as a safety mechanism, preventing you from accidentally creating common users with identical names as local users.

    Pete Finnigan did some research on how to create different types of users in an environment of 12 c: http://www.petefinnigan.com/weblog/archives/00001370.htm
