How do I know if I have windows vista or vista 64-bit?

Hello

Several methods:

Start - type in the search box-> find WinVer in high - Double-click on it - it will specify if 64 bits.

Control Panel - System

Start - type in the search-> system CONTROL the top information box - right Click-RUN AS ADMIN

I hope this helps.

    > know that some brands, has their own product keys that do not work on a regular version of OEM of Vista. Is this also the case of Toshiba?
Toshiba laptops are preinstalled and delivered with the self-image of Toshiba.
The image contains the Windows operating system (XP or Vista), Toshiba drivers, tools and additional software.

The preinstalled Windows (XP or Vista) are already activated and it s is not necessary (impossible) to enter the serial key!

    > On the bottom of my X 200 - 21r laptop is my product key sticker. So, I want to know if I can use it with any OEM Vista CD/DVD?
This key doesn't work with another version of Vista OEM. It belongs to the Toshiba OEM version which is preinstalled on your laptop!

  • I try the installation key OEM Office or upgrade to another version of Vista

Hi, I had the same problem here.

until someone shows me at the door, shouting that I have tried the vista OEM key to install office or upgrade to another version of vista, here are the facts:

    -C' is my work laptop.
-It was installed with a volume work XP pro license.
-J' changed jobs, negotiated to keep my laptop in the process.
-I'm legitimate, I don't want the volume from my previous job license.
-I am reloading the preinstalled version of vista from the CD supplied with the notebook microsoft (not the CD before installing, I wanted a windows clean and neat)
-L' label on the back of the PC say "vista home premium OEMAct".
-I am running windows vista Home premium
-J' I updated my bios to the latest version
    -vista will not activate automatically.
-J' tried to call microsoft for manual activation. the IDS are recognized (if you try to enter a wrong number, it is said that there is a mistake), but when I hit "next" after having typed the ID told me on the phone, I get an error indicating that the code is wrong.

a now I get the Activation Assistant 0xC004E002 error when I try to run it.

I don't see what I did wrong... someone has a lead what to do next, other than reinstalling windows?
I don't want to bother to reinstall all drivers and applications (openoffice, java, firefox, xnview, avira antivir...) that I just installed.
And I want a working solution, as I am not really convinced that reinstall windows don't lead me to the same problem on new.

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards

    Hello

First of all-> you have a Toshiba laptop?
If so,-> to the Vista preinstalled on your laptop is already activated!

The key at the bottom of the device belongs to the OEM of Vista version and it is just a confirmation that you are using a legal Vista operating system.
The key cannot be used with MS Office and other versions of Vista!

If you want to upgrade the Vista then you will probably get a new key from Microsoft.

  • Driver problem audio dc7800 on the new version of vista

    Hello

Ive rebuilt a dc7800 with vista ultimate, Ive used the drivers from the HP site for audio, vista installs its own drivers automatically in a first time, Device Manager indicates that they work well, but no sound, so I get the driver for vista off HP site, those in Device Manager, install manually again, vista said they work they are not... If I try and just use the executable on HP website for vista drivers, I get a message saying my hardware is different from installing drivers Im for and installation will not be completed, I so try and add them manually with the *.inf in Device Manager, it adds this way, but they are just used to work...

Ive has spent a lot of time on it, scoured the forums... Can anyone help? It should be a model of support for vista because it comes with vista enterprise... edition, so there must be a pilot on board sound somewhere for me

Ive tried the audio drivers for all versions of vista provided on the download page of hp drivers, Ive also tried the xp drivers, Ive been to the realteks site and got the driver generic 29 MB for vista that suggest of some forums, what does not work too...

    Please can someone help?

Right, Ive solved... FINALLY! If anyone else has this problem heres whats happened... The card Radeon HD 3450 what ive put in the willing dc7800 of an HD Audio Controller integrated into the jury! NA not yet realize that... then I disabled the system HD Audio integrated on the dc7800 and it works fine now! I was that combining HD Audio in the bios as my advice on sound and since I wanted to use that was the last thing I thought of deactivation... but disabling that so it uses the controller audio HD built on the Board now gives me perfect sound through the onboard sound... job done

  • Reinstall the clean version of Vista 32 bit

I have a second hand with no original disk computer.  I have a properly active version Running Windows Vista and I would like to reinstall it on a clean install.   How can I do this with no disc?

    Hello

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

My OS is Vista 64 bit, it works well. I have a scanner that connects to the pc via a scsi card, the card I have will not work under a 32-bit version. Hi Paul,.

No, you can not install the 32-bit version of Windows to the sides of the 64-bit version. However, you can have a configuration dual boot (32-bit on a partition and 64-bit on another). In this case you will need two licenses, a license being dedicated to a facility only.

    Yes, you are right.

BitLocker is available only in the enterprise and Ultimate from Windows Vista and Windows 7 editions. [1] users of other versions of Windows that do not include BitLocker could use a 3rd party encryption program. • I installed the wrong version of Vista. How do we install the right pair?

Installed the wrong windows vista (Vista Home Basic). He should be editing windows Home premium, what can I do to fix it without having to reinstall everything? My Home Premium is for new installations.

You must reinstall the correct Version of Vista.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  • Installed the 64 bit version of vista, but need to 32-bit. Help, please!

My Vista 32 bit was removed from my Sony Vaio.  I tried to use a disc of Vista, but after I loaded it, I realized it was a 64-bit version of Vista.  The screen is filled only partially.  I don't have a backup for 32-bit Vista disc, then how I would go from 64-bit to 32-bit Vista so I can have my full screen back?

It is your option to reinstall Vista 32 bit.

Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
