vFoglight rule definition Scopes

Hello

Im trying to customize a rule (VMware Cluster percent ready) so that it doesn't fire that for a specific cluster, not each cluster, does anyone know how to do this? (see attachment).

I guess I can type queries in the window in the section 'field of application of the rule' to refine the search to all clusters in a particular cluster, but I do not know the syntax.

If anyone has a guide on the query language different it would be also great!

Thank you

It's great that you copied your rule before making the adaptations; It is a best practice.

You can use something like this to your rule to a specific cluster scope:

VMWCluster where name = 'Austin '.

Whenever you change your query scope, make sure that you release by pressing the icon "check" on the right: this is another best practice.

For detailed documentation and examples brought queries, see the Query Language Tutorial, examples of query language and Query Reference topology.

    On the other Dreamweavers when I wanted to change a css, I selected the css and clicking on the pencil icon to open the css rule definition box.

    The new designer of CSS in CC has many more features and has a different interface than previous versions of DW.

    To change the styles for a chosen selector, you must firstly, highlight the selector in the Panel "selectors". In your case, first select "#wrapper" from the Panel of selectors. Then the "Properties" Panel below displays all the available customizations you can do with this selector.

  • vFoglight rule not pulling

    I created a rule to monitor several VM and alert if ever, they move from their designated hosts. When I put the script of condition in the "Run Query Condition" it runs the code with success and returns 'True' or 'false' However the rule does not generate an alarm. I broke the rule returns "true" as shown below and checking that the rule is active. Any help would be great

    The script takes the name of the virtual machine and splits the name where "vgw" and then puts the back with "esx" name in name. He uses this name to compare with the name of the esxServer /, if they are different, then the script should return true and set off an alarm. (for the test I put the script returns true if esxServer name matches the string that I created)

    example: mynamevgw001--> mynameesx001

    VM = scope.get ('name')

    esxhost = scope.get('esxServer/name')

    myArray = vm.split ('vgw')

    myString = "esx".

    esxhostcompare = myarray [0] + mystring + myarray [1]

    If (esxhost is esxhostcompare)

    Returns true;

    Thank you

    After working with support, we found that the rules 'Data Driven' will not draw if there is no data measures in the rule condition. In my article, I used only the properties of the object of topology VMWVirtualMahine.

    The two options that I would need to do to make the fire rule is:

    1. define rule driven time, then select fire without data option

    or

    2 Add a metric of observation to the condition

    VM = scope.get ('name')

    myUP = #uptimePercent #.

    esxhost = scope.get('esxServer/name')

    myArray = vm.split ('vgw')

    myString = "esx".

    esxcompare = myarray [0] + mystring + myarray [1]

    If (esxhost == esxcompare) return true;

    otherwise return false;

  • How to move a rule definition with the data store for esx alarm without re-creating the rule?

    Hi, I would spend my rule of definition of alarm of the data at the level of esx store, without re-creating the rule. Is this possible?

    In the Act, I don't want no definition of the alarm at the data store level. So, what is the best practice?

    Best regards

    It is currently not possible.  The rules are hierarchical, and there is no way to stop the inheritance, or move messages.  You will have to re-create them at the appropriate level.

  • Can not see 'apply strict rules of scope '.

    I have a group of radio buttons in which I am tempted to deselect a button. There are examples of Niall and others that I copied, but it does not, apparently because this.initValue is not passed in to MouseUp MouseDown. It seems that the deselection "To enforce strict rules of framing" could solve the problem, but this parameter is missing from the application.

    I'm running ADEP Designer version 10, and there is nothing about the scope in a properties file > default settings or the properties of the file > Run-time. Anyone has an idea why he isn't here?

    Thank you, Steve

    Hi Steve,.

    A number of things.

    First in your version of the form, make sure you have the script corresponding in the mouseDown of individual radio buttons:

    // Capture initial value of radio Button and save it as a member of the radio button object
    this.initValue = this.rawValue;

    Regarding strict enforcement brought in LC Designer ES3, the intention is to encourage best practices by automatically activating the strict framing. It's a good thing!

    So if you open a new form in LC Designer ES3 (or you have a form where the script scope is selected/on), then the option to uncheck/disable strict framing is NOT available in the file > properties > execution Panel:

    http://assure.LY/SJ5BWU (I can't include screenshots in the forum right now)

    This encourages developers to follow best practices, by automatically the strict application of the scope.

    However, if you have a form where the scope strictly apply (for what ever reason) stops, then the option to apply/turn on strict framing is available in the file > form properties > execution Panel:

    http://assure.LY/OIntMM

    I hope that clears up that,

  • Definitions of CSS rule Panel

    I see the CSS in DW CC Panel is no longer in existence. Does this mean that the Panel of definitions of CSS rule is no longer appears when you click on a CSS rule like in older versions of DW?

    The CSS rule definition panel is always available in Dreamweaver CC 2015.1.

    Click the CSS button in the property inspector and click the button change the rule.

    It's still there, but I'd bet not on what it will be available in the next major version of CC of Dreamweaver. When the Panel is hidden, it is usually a sign that they are gradually.

  • 5.8.1 infrastructure cartridge - create rule for 'availablePagingSpace '?

    I have a number of AIX systems monitored by using the cartridge of the Infrastructure.  I copied and modified the rules for the CPU, the ability to file systems and memory.

    I need to create a rule to alert on 'availablePagingSpace' that appears on the chart "Memory usage" when I click on the "Paging Space" graph via the Host Monitor dashboard.

    I'm assuming that I could copy the rule "Utilziation memory" and likely the condition to test insteead 'availablePagingSpace' of the 'use '.   This seems to be a false assumption.  When you use the rule condition query interface, these are the errors I get.

    com.quest.nitro.service.sl.interfaces.scripting.ScriptingException: com.quest.nitro.service.sl.interfaces.scripting.ScriptMalformedQueryException: bad request: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Type ' foglight - 5:Memory:8' doesn't have a property with the name "availablePagingSpace" - start of the script - #availablePagingSpace #.< 100="" ----="" script="" end="">

    I tried to change the rule definition to use different topologies, such as "ICAGENT", but I can't seem to find this property available anywhere.

    I'm still a bit of a newbie to the rule editing Foglight, so bear with me.  If someone has a pointer in the right direction for me on how to access the "availablePagingSpace" metric, so I can use in my terms of rule, I would be very grateful.

    Thank you!

    GWL-

    Hello

    Please try this on a local Foglight Server first.

    When you look at the gauge for swap space available in the dashboard you can see that it is actually taken from the host itself

    If the scope of the rule should be the host itself, not memory.

    The easiest way is to seek a similar rule with the host as the scope.

    If you copy the rule run the length of queue for example, you can see that the scope of the rule is host.
    You can then change the rule condition to and when you use the condition Editor, you can see the metric of availablepagingspace as part of the host

    I hope this helps...

  • FDMEE rules - checking does not appear

    Hi Experts,

    I have set up rules of audit in FDMEE 11.1.2.4 to display key figures after the load of HFM.

    But whenever '0' demonstrated for each of the accounts.   Even though I have confirmed there are certainly data in the accounts of HFM.

    These are accounts of parent (with the exception of a basic account) in HFM, but I put in place of the control entities in order to consolidate the data after the load.   So I think that the audit report should be able to show the balances in accounts of parent.

    Mark Smith

    Hi both,.

    Oracle support told me there was a "bug" that required the precision of audit report to have a value (2 is more common).  I had not entered a value for this parameter.

    https://support.Oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocumentDisplay?ID=1943536.1

    I also added the Custom Member and member of the ICP albums to my rule... | REAL, TOTAST, [ICP no], OPERATIONS, ROLLFORWARDS, CURRENCYREPORTING, DATATYPE, |

    My periods are now bring in HFM account balances.

    Finally, I tried to implement the entities to check (I'm FDMEE 11.1.2.4 and have the last patch of HFM adapter installed).   However, when adding check entities.the check report is empty.   It is impossible to use control entities in 11.1.2.4 until Oracle comes out with a patch.

    Thank you

  • Trying to create the new css rule?

    I'm trying to insert the image as a background and try to create the new rule css.

    the tutorial says I should make sure that check_cs6.css is selected from the context menu of rule definition.

    but my menu says "(ce document uniquement)" and the only other option is to accept "(fichier de feuille de Style New).

    It seems that your HTML document is not bound to an external style sheet again.  Somewhere in theof your document, you should see a code like this:

    "styles/check_cs6.css" rel = "stylesheet" media = "screen" type = "text/css" / >

    Where styles/check_cs6.css is the path and the name of your external style sheet.

  • Reports of the rule properties

    We are looking for a way to generate a report that securities specific rules, the evidence of these rules and the source of these rules in a table.

    Ideally, we are looking for a way to generate a report for every rule that has the following comlumns:
    [Rule ID], [rule name,] [rule Source], [the rule definition], [Custom Property1], [Custom Property2], [rule as shown in rule browser]

    I know that a custom property report can display custom properties added to rules, but the properties of the rule of the rule's properties editor and the actual evidence of the rules do not appear in the report.

    OPM has a function to generate such a report?

  • Simple disk alert for specific servers

    Hi all

    Can someone tell me how to alert of simple disk for specific virtual machines please? That is to say if Server X drive E:\ hits 20 GB free, send an e-mail.

    I tried to change the rule VMW Virtual Machine, use of logical disk , but I can't limit the scope to specific servers I want to follow. Very confusing.

    VFoglight v6.6.2 using.

    Thanks in advance.

    You can change the call to the scope to include only the specific virtual machines.

    You can test this concept in the Script Console, using the query line.  Don't forget that everything is case-sensitive.

    First, enter VMWVirtualMachine , and then select query.  You should see all your virtual machines

    Then, enter VMWVirtualMachine where name like '% ServerX' and you should get only back the corresponding VMs.  You can extend this to help where and not built.  for example VMWVirtualMachine where (name like name like '% ServerY' or 'ServerX %') once you're comfortable with that, we can take the step 2.  The '%' is a wildcard character, corresponding to a number any character.

    Now, let's take a look on your particular case, which is a little more complicated, because the name of the virtual machine is not directly part of the object VMWVirtualMachineLogicalDisk .

    We need to start with VMWVirtualMachineLogicalDisk as our base and then extend it.

    Still in Script Editor, enter VMWVirtualMachineLogicalDisk in the query line and select query.  You should see a large number of records of logical drive.  By selecting one of them and selecting the tab panel object below will show you some of the properties of this object.

    Then, enter VMWVirtualMachineLogicalDisk where name like '% C:' and select query.  You should see a small list, showing only C: drives.

    That's nice, but as the name property of the VMWVirtualMachineLogicalDisk object is the drive letter, not the name of the virtual machine, it does not help your case.

    The trick is to remember that these are objects, not rows in a table SQL.  And there's a handy article on the object called parentsmodel.  You can see by scrolling down through the selected properties of VMWVirtualMachineLogicalDisk , until you see relatives.  It is a link to the top of the object tree and can be used to select what need you.

    Enter VMWVirtualMachineLogicalDisk, where parents.name like "ServerX %", and you should see just logical drives for the selected virtual machine.  Again, you can build more complex criteria.  In addition, you should be aware that in certain types of objects, parents is not one, but a list of items (e.g. warehouses under the ESX hosts, where a data store can be a child of many ESX host.)  The query in this case would be built in a different way, to deal with several possible outcomes.

    OK, so now we are ready to make your new rule.  You NEVER want to change a standard rule, you should always copy rule, if necessary, the deactivation of the original.

    Copy rule VMW Virtual Machine, use of logical drive to a new rule and go to the tab of the rule definition.

    Under scope rule, you will see VMWVirtualMachineLogicalDisk in the largest area.  This can be entered in the menu dropdown just above him, but it can also be added to by typing directly into the larger area.

    Change the biggest box of VMWVirtualMachineLogicalDisk to VMWVirtualMachineLogicalDisk, where parents.name like '% ServerX' and test the scope of the rule with the little green check mark on the side.

    In green text, you shuold see that your scope has been changed to the desired list of virtual machines.

    Don't forget to press on save, very important
