• Video player does not play movie every time

  I am a beginner with flash technology . I use "Flex builder 4.5" and tries to insert a video on a web site that play a lot of films (on DP or Direct Play mode).

  My problem is that the video player does not load the film selected each time (it fail to initialize) and (how to explain properly...) when gel loading, if I select the same movie again in the list, it load it in a second.

  For me, a video is "charged" when metadata are received (video in day time) and the play button is on.

  But the method is called to load the video (in fact initialization) is the same every time. I have change the attribute 'source' of the video player, and the initialize() method is called automatically.

  Can you help me find how to make sure that load a video on my player (in 100% of cases) which extends from the Flex mx.controls.VideoDisplay?

  Or can you explain why the video player does not load the video as well on Firefox than IE or SAFARI (on MAC)? Is the plugin different? Because on an old computer with IE, the video player do not work at all (never load movies).

  For now, I think to add a timer on load and every 30 seconds restart the method init if video not yet initialized. But this isn't a solution, just a patch that may not work.

  I'm french, sorry for syntax errors or other. I tried to be as clear as possible. Feel free to correct me!

  Okay, I solved it by myself.
  So if this could help someone, I use the attribute "stateChange" of the VideoDisplay component to manage the loading film correctly.

• DVD s 600 will not play movies I paid for?

  I was told that this dvd 600 s would play DVD movies on my computer. I installed the software that came with the dvd, and it will not play one of my movies. Was wrong to the sales rep and I need another type of dvd player? Or I'm doing something wrong. All I want to do is play movies I bought as if I was able to do on my other HP computer.   When I play movies in Toshiba DVD player I get the following error message: "unable to output the video to an external device. Please check the external output setting after the end of the application. TEMPRO, I installed and tried to install all updates - some of them were for different hardware so wouldn't install.

  I get a similar problem in Windows Media Player "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD player and the video card protection decoder. Try to install a driver available for your video card. VLC player works fine. The drive otherwise normally functioning.

  It's the same problem, as described in this thread: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=201029&tstart=0, but all the answers are a similar problem with HD DVD on a different model (P200).

  Anyone know how I can fix this problem? I'm not sure I can be bothered to go back and reinstall Vista etc...

  According to the Toshiba DVD Player error message: are you trying to watch DVDs on an external monitor or TV?
  In your case, I will try to reinstall the DVD playback software. This means delete the current version and then restart your computer. Then download and install the latest software from Toshiba DVD player.

  But to be honest: it's that everything works with VLC media player as it s very big and small media player that can play all audio and video files. Isn t it? ;)

It is not a receiver of the definition that I can for example connect my PS3 to the same port without changing all the settings and it plays DD5.1 or any other format.

  To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to read a disk (on the server) to a client.  But, you can play torn discs.
  Some MC users swear by the media browser for this purpose; others swear by MyMovies.  I like MyMovies.  I have installed on my main MC client/server and the client installed on my desktop & laptop.  I can manage the collection of any one of them and all my rips play on any of the three, as well as my two Xbox 360 (running as Extenders to the main MC.)

  Now, tear may be a bit of an art (and there are a lot of personal preference, too.)  I rip a movie (main title only, w / English 5.1 or better acoustics) using DVDFab (free); I then point video again (currently 75 $US for Suite TV, you need to do this) at the level of the rip and that convert DVR - MS.  In this way, I maintain full compatibility with all what I use and keep the FF/Rew features on the extensions.

  You can rip & convert to many other formats (AVI, WMV, or leave as mi/gal) with other (and free) tools; but Extenders are limited in what they can play natively (or, with playback controls complete.)

  4. click on select the check all in the top left box, or you can select the check boxes next to the types of files you want than Windows Media Player to play by default.

  If you don't want Windows Media Player to play a particular type of file by default, return back to set your default programs and to choose a different program to the default player for that file type.

• Playing movies in LR5 - delay / latency

  Hello.  I am facing latency when playing movies in LR5.  I am connected to my server Windows of a young / new Macbook running 10.9.  At present, the batch that I am experiecing with are. MOV files, but it has happened with other formats.  The movies play fine when I open them in QT from the Finder, so I know that's not the connection to the server, that uses Gigabit ethernet.  When I play through LR5, I often experience delays where I hear the audio, but the video is frozen.  So when I swittch magnifying glass back to the display of the grid, I get the wheel that turns for a while.  This occurs even on short films - 2-3 long minuyes, less than 5 MB.  This should be an easy thing to implement and the base line to offer movie capabilities.

  Mine is set to the value of 3.0 GB by default and I just ran a video of 20 min. 1080 p .mov file created using a Canon 5 d MKII without any problem on my LAN Go with the file on another PC from office.

  Try to reset your preferences file as which resolves many strange problems. You can rename the file existing pref by adding an extension for example, .old file. In this way, if it does not solve the problem, you can easily restore your original preferences settings.
