Videos playing only with the sound after update 49.0.2

After updating Firefox to 49.0.2 I have problems with videos on sites like: http://www.cc.com/video-clips/07m87l/the-daily-show-with-trevor-noah-donald-trump-hints-at-a-not-so-peaceful-transfer-of-power or http://time.com/4514971/iphone-7-worlds-tallest-building/

It has sound, no picture, just black background. Decommissioning of 48.0.2 helped, but Netflix videos do not work on this version.

(1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press enter/return. Click on the button promising to be careful. (2) in the above list, type or paste async and pause search box while the list is filtered (3), double-click the preference dom.ipc.plugins.asyncdrawing.enabled to switch the value from true to false

This may not take effect until the next time that you exit Firefox and start it again.

One of the changes in Firefox 48-49 title is e10s, separating the process of browser interface process page content. The performance impact of this can vary a lot between the systems, and it would be useful to know if you have this feature enabled. To check this, either:

  • button '3-bar' menu > '? ' button > Troubleshooting Information
  • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
  • type or paste Subject: support in the address bar and press enter

In the first table on the page, find the line of Multiprocess Windows and see if the number on the left side of the fraction is greater than zero. If so, you are using e10s.

    According to the request, we understand that you are facing problem with the display resolution on your ThinkPad X 230.

    If you have updated the drivers from Windows update, sometimes this kind of problem occurs with windows generic drivers for cause of driver incompatibility, suggest always update drivers only via the ThinkVantage System Update utility. Update only the application of Microsoft Windows Update.

    Recently updated my XperiaX10i (French version, not operator sim locked). No problem with the update itself and the phone seems to work fine.

    But, the music gallery has first not detected music files already in the sd card 32 GB (no problem for photos, videos or other files), and does not so load in the library.     Are you sure that your touchpad was not disabled?

    I mean the FN + F9 key combination to activate and disable the touchpad.

    This is why you should check this first.

    On the other hand a 3rd mouse driver part could affect the functionality of touchpad too.

    In my opinion, you should try to reinstall the driver for the touchpad and test it without connected part 3 mouse.

    Dear Gordon thank you very much for the reply. You just confirmed my own conclusion that my machine is broken. It lasted 6 years and it could be another 6 If the lighting is not it.     You Tube and other sites do not play video on Firefox with Adobe Flash after the last update for both. Adobe Flash works on other sites but not You tube and sites that can have embedded videos from You Tube, I'm not sure.

    Adobe Flash not crushed and no error message is visible. All that shows is a black screen for Flash video. Make a right click of the screen shows only a non-interactive 'a film has not loaded' and the clickable link to the home page of Adobe.

        I think the Flash 12.xx is a phantom. I can't find it on my comp. Only 13.xx shows anywhere but on the Pugins page in Firefox.

       About the .Js I cannot find a User.JS in the profile folder but ther is a user.bk and other files that have.json. Should I do anything with these?

    The .mov file format is a video format MPEG 4, released in 1998 and is used in Apple's Quicktime program, which is similar to Windows Media Player Media Player. As WMV (Windows Media Video) format .mov is connected with Quicktime

    Google for a free video converter and convert your .mov file formats supported by Windows Media Player.
