Videos will only play full-screen mode.

When you watch videos on the internet in small screen, there are wide white lines across the image.  The image flickers in and out with his normal. Blindly, I find the button fullscreen.  When he normally plays full-screen.

Hi Jen,

When you say "when I look at the videos of the internet", do you mean you watch videos online. If so, what web browser do you use? If it's the Internet explore what is the version of Internet Explorer that you are currently using.

The following resolution requires that you use Internet Explorer and you have problems to play online videos. You can go through the article mentioned below that could be useful to solve the problem.

  • My new sites pinned tab only display full-screen mode. What happened only since the update of Firefox.

I have my best sites 'pinned' to the new tab. Since the update of Firefox do show that the first four sites (top line) and I can't drag/release those missing bookmarks.

I have just discovered that the sites are still there but only appear when I select the mode "full screen".

Is there a way I can restore the page to show two lines of pinned sites without being full screen mode please?

It seems that there is a regression with 39 Firefox on the new tab page. A bug report has been filed on 4 and the triage team responded.

I saw the same thing with the difference in mode full-screen during the test of this "change"; the 'missing' line appear in full-screen - but with the resolution of my screen, I could see two rows of tiles, the 3rd rank was not missing mode full screen.

  • I can only play in windowed mode. Windows 7 turns black and hangs in mode full screen.

I recently updated my Acer Aspire 5739 G for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and had not really tried any games on it so far.  When I put in the disc for Civ IV and door to the top of the screen normal preplay, one with the options 'read', 'readme' and 'Quit' in this regard.  When I went to game, he began to load up, the screen went black as if it were passing in the game, and then it stops there.  The computer is not freeze because I got music on and he kept playing when the screen went and remained black.

So I tried another game, Supreme Commander.  Same thing.  Same thing with the other.  I've updated the drivers for the Nvidia GeForce GT 130 M to the most recent, but that did nothing.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the games, but that has not changed anything either.  Also tried opening the game in compatibility mode for Vista I know wherever they worked before, but nothing.

Finally, after playing with the settings for a while, I decided to try to open in windowed mode because it seemed that when the games have tried full-screen was the problem, and of course, it works beautifully.

So what is happening here?  Why I can't play them full screen mode?  There is something really simple that I'm not just doing?

    Fixed!

Just had to turn off Windows Defender and the problem was solved.

  • In Photoshop CC 2015, when I switch to full screen mode (only F tap, not two) my panels often disappear (but not always) by themselves.  I exit full screen to retrieve them.

I had this problem two major updates there is a CC of Photoshop.  The last update seemed to remedy, but with the last update major it is back.  I enter full screen often, as this is how I prefer to work and usually it works fine.  I know that the panels disappear if I press F twice, but I'm not in this mode, I'm only in the first full-screen mode.  They do not disappear immediately.  They disappear more often right after an action, for example when the action makes the Panel properties pop up, all other panels (layers, etc.) will disappear.  Sometimes press the tab brings back them, sometimes it just makes drop-down menus (file, editing, etc.) appear and disappear.  I can't be the only one with this problem, but I have not yet find a discussion on the subject.

Someone has an idea what is the problem?

I have an i7-4770 CPU and GPU Radeon R9 200 series running Windows 8.1

    Hi Mdentonetc,

If this is the latest version of Photoshop and you do not have enough customize the tools Panel, then you can try resetting that default return Photoshop preferences.

    Steps to follow:

To re-create the Photoshop preferences files, start the application while pressing Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or command + Option + shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop settings file?"

Lets us know if that helps.

  • How to make a video play full screen button?

Hello.  For my orientation horizontal app that I have several videos that are embedded in pages, each one has a picture of the poster and when we play in the page. But now I want to create a button with an image (not a poster) than when you press time a video full screen how can I do this?

In my experience all kinds of strange things are happening. I tried to put the video on the image and then dragging the corner dimensions so it matches the size of the button, but when testing using the Adobe viewer it will still play the video if I press on the screen in the original much more extensive area of the video.

Place video, reduce it to the size of the button. Set the image of the poster in the media Panel, and set it to play full screen in the video pane of the folio overlays group.

  • Windows Media Player will only play a sound with no video .avi and .mov

I started having a problem where the Windows Media Player will only play the audio portion of my .avi and .mov video files.

These files were created by my FlipCam or my Sony Handycam.

I never had problems until recently and think that it is due to some kind of Windows Update.

Both my computer and my wife's computer had the same problem and we are both using Windows XP Home Edition.

I apologize if this topic already on this forum.

Thanks for any help and advice.

    CoDec = compressor decompressor.
A program is used to compress the file. You then need to unpack the file to play, you need the codec used to compress the file to decompress it on your pc.
You need DVD playing software installed to power the mpeg codec, or you can buy a codec to just run in media player.
AVI is a wrapper and may well contain more than 800 different file types, it has 800 different codecs!  Thus, to read an avi file, you should know what codec was used to do and have that installed on your pc to read.
DV.avi is made with the dv codec, divx.avi is made with the divx codec.
Of course, that manufacturers make their codecs, you must make sure you have the latest being, to be able to read files made with it, so everything just because you downloaded the codec divx 12 months ago does not mean it will play files created with codecs of today!

I hope this explains it is ok for you.

It surprises me that you say that you have downloaded all the updates of altest, but are still running wmp9, where we are now on WMP11 for XP and 12 for win7.

I would update my WMP version first.

Here is a page that will tell you that the codecs are on your pc and who has access to WMP 11.
    http://www.myvideoproblems.com/tutorials/HowToFindCodecs.html

Here is a page that will tell you how to know what codec was used to create the file that you are trying to watch and also if you have the right codec for it
    http://www.myvideoproblems.com/tutorials/AVIcodec.html

It is generally accepted that the codec packs adding is a bad idea, so if you need a codec to read a certain file, google it's manufacturer and just install the one you need.

I would work just on the pc at the same time when you found what the problem is, you can fix on the other 2.

Need more help with this, just ask.

  • Media Player 12 will not remain full screen for more than 5 min.

Upgrade Vista Ultimate to 7 Ultimate. Media Player now will not stay full screen for more than 5 minutes during movie playback. How can I fix this please?

When presentation settings are turned on, your mobile PC stays awake and system notifications are turned off. I would not advice you constantly running in presentation mode because it does not allow your computer becomes idle (and display the screen saver) even when you do not do anything. He probably solved your problem because one of your application does not perform certain actions as before, because it's always 'think' that your computer is not idle.

You should do something like this: check the settings for these two applications: Vaio update and Trend Micro (probably you can get there after right-clicking on the icon in the notification area and choose the appropriate context menu position). There should be some options when these applications are performing the update process. No doubt, one of them made when the computer becomes inactive if it may affect the mode full-screen. I guess that might be Vaio update, because I read that since version 2010, Trend Micro has been improved and should not cause this problem, but you should check the two of them. You should change the appropriate settings, so it will play the update process in another moment.

There is also something else you can try. You can read this article: How to prevent the flight home in Windows programs . You can find how to prevent theft of focus programs, then perhaps it can also solve your problem. Maybe after the upgrade to Vista, specific registry key does not contain the appropriate value, and you must follow these steps to fix that:

    1. Click Start and then click run (or you can press Windows key + R )

    2. In the text box on the run window, type regedit and click OK. This will open the registry editor program.

    3. Find the folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER under my computer and click the plus sign (+) after the folder name to expand the folder.

    4. Continue to expand the folders until you reach the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel registry key.

    5. Select the key of Office under Control Panel .

    6. On the right side of the screen, locate and double-click ForegroundLockTimeout DWORD.

    7. In the Edit DWORD value window that appears, set them value data: field to 30 d 40 .

Note: Make sure that the Basic option has the hexadecimal value, when you enter the DWORD value.

    8. Click OK , and then close the registry editor .

    9. Restart your PC for the changes to take effect.

    10. From this moment on, programs should no longer steal focus from the window you are currently working.

  • How can I turn on/off and exit full-screen Mode?

As stated in my previous announcement on July 3, the only way I could see the view full screen of my Hotmail "Compose" mode was to reload the Hotmail Web page or enter full screen Mode. Now how to exit full-screen mode, because I lost all the headers of windows and toolbars. (NOTE: I use a resolution of 1024 x 768) I have to go to higher resolution before the return of the mode full screen? Reboot may keep the settings that I don't want.) I apologize if this is not not to be a Firefox problem after all.

Sounds like something that you could simply add to your previous post, expected rather than we could find your previous post and working on a new response.

And then if you just repeat what you read before you won't like the answer better than before. If you have a web page specific are you a bit more of one problem than the other also can help.

    Mode full-screen:

    • Toggle in and out with F11
    • Toggle to display-'Alt + V' menu > F (full screen)
    • While in the switch from full-screen and hold the mouse at the top of the window - whatever it is that you would do before can be done full screen as long as you stay in height in the toolbars. Including as noted recently Cor - el (hope it wasn't yours), you can press the "Maximize" button, then the button "restore".

I can do the same thing on Hotmail, the special thing is that there is a delay, and he likes to show my top full Office between the two. I am running Windows 7.
