view bookmarks

Firefox 17.0.1
Win7

There are some time - somewhere and in some sort - I found a way to display all my favorites / Bookmark folders in a vertical column on the left side of my screen. This list of bookmarks "stuck" and is apparent at any time.

It seems that I need to have recently clicked on something to provoke this bookmark list to disappear.

How can I get that back?

{Ctrl + B} opens and closes the bookmarks bar.

I had my firefox show my bookmarks bar in the url bar. His game show, but none of the bookmarks display. It's just an empty bar. Even in safe mode, it's an empty bar. I used to have my URL frequently used there, but they have recently disappeared. Now I find myself with an empty bar without exploitation, and I was wondering if I could get it back. Below I've linked to the image of what my status bar looks like.

There are a few possible reasons for this. To study, please start Firefox customization mode. You can do this by using either:

    • button '3-bar' menu > customize
    • (menu bar) View > toolbars > customize
    • Right click on a zone empty of the tab bar > customize

(More info: Customize Firefox commands, buttons, and toolbars)

Normally, at the left end of the bookmarks toolbar, there is one representative all of your bookmarks called "bookmarks toolbar items". Can you find anywhere and bring in the right position? (Example screenshot attached.)

If you don't find the items in toolbar bookmarks anywhere, try using the 'Restore Defaults' button at the bottom of the Customize tab. Who must return to the toolbar bookmarks to its default layout.

    A little luck?

If the "bookmarks toolbar items" is already in the correct location, but the bookmarks don't show when you exit off customize, this could indicate a problem with corruption of data or interference by an add-on.

If you see the Menu bookmarks and extend the toolbar of bookmarks in the menu, it shows that there are still items here?

If so, great. So could test you mode without failure of Firefox? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

Does not work if Firefox: Hold down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
    • Help menu > restart with disabled modules

    and OK reboot.

Two scenarios: A small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not update).

Sorry, there is no preference in Firefox to increase it, but this extension allows you to drag that 'see' the largest (the parameter holds once do you).

    Hello Mark.

It is possible that you have made some changes in the interface that deleted bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbar. Go in view > tools > customize... > Restore Default Set and everything should be back to normal. By this, I mean that your interface will return to its default configurations. You can reconfigure (in the same window) to your liking, after that.

Otherwise, you should be able to drag the corresponding item in the window in the bookmarks toolbar, but it is perhaps more difficult to accomplish if you are not experienced enough.

  • View bookmarks by default when you open the pdf file

    Hello

I made a document with a TOC and bookmerk for the pdf that has worked very well.

I have some pdf documents that when I opened them, the bookmark wall on Acrobat are open by default. In my document, this panle is not visible, I need to click on the bookmark icon, so it shows the Bookmarks panel, and so I can navigate through the document.

Is it possible to configure InDesign so that the pdf file is Acrobat open the default bookmark panel, as these documents I have? It looks to me that it is a very common resource in pdf files, most of the PDFs I opens the bookmark panel when the document is loaded.

    That you for any help!

I think you should do this in Acrobat. Go to file/properties/Initial View / Navigation Tab / Bookmarks panel and Page and save the document.

  • Interaction between the expansion of the initial view & bookmark Destination

    I use Adobe Acrobat X.

I understand that the definition of the destination of a bookmark also sets the magnification of the view. Apparently, it's always the case, and that doesn't seem right to me.

Suppose that all I want is for each bookmark to take the reader to a particular page, and I don't want the expansion of any different view of enlargement that the player is currently using. For example, I set the initial view, magnification by default when you create the PDF file. How can ensure me that the reader will not deal with a different point of view magnification when you click on a bookmark and be redirected to the page?

Select the existing action "go to a page in this document", as you did in the 3rd and 4th example you view and click the button change, and you should see where you can select "Inherit Zoom" for the zoom setting.

Edit: I see that you found.

  • Bookmarks do not come to the top. Customize checked offshore to view bookmarks.

I saw someone else had a question like this a few months ago but I tried patches and nothing works.

Under Customize my "bookmarks" toolbar is checked. All my favorites were on the left. But now I really hit the Bookmarks tab to see. Also, when I type the sign in the tools/blank tab bar area it is also checked. I did uncheck and check, but it did not help. The only thing I changed on FF yesterday, that I've changed in privacy for the story to follow, because if he doesn't then I can't use my PW protector to ask if I want to record a new PW. When I changed that nothing happened to my toolbar and then.

I didn't start in safe mode, close and then when starting still regularly the bookmarks bar began to appear. Thank you.

  • Cannot view bookmark bookmark hotmail (used to)

from the homepage, I can access a favorite site... but when I try to move from this site (any site favorite) on my favorite site of Hotmail (which is my homepage site), always "expires" and do not make the connection at the back... This is not used as a problem. Restore my computer to an earlier time when he was still working as you wish, does not resolve the problem, either...

Try to navigate to the bookmarked site Hotmail via the login page main (live.login.com) instead of using a bookmark, the bookmark can be damaged or includes data POST sending is not working.

It is usually best to avoid using a bookmark in cases like this where.

  • Favorites bar is visible, but its content is not, but I can still see when I go to view bookmarks

  • windows easy transfer and pulled the bookmarks and the profile of the old xp system password, why doesn't Firefox recognize the profile and view bookmarks, etc.?

I FIND THE TRANSFERRED FROM THE OLD XP COMPUTER PROFILE.
I'M NOT COMPUTER LITERATE, SO I RELATE THAT THE FILE DOES NOT HAVE DATA IN THE FAVORITES AND PASSWORDS.
I DID A FEW WEEKS AGO AND PICKED UP FIREFOX AND DISPLAY INFORMATION WHEN HE WANTED TO!
DELL HAD TO DO A RELOAD OF OPERATING SOFTWARE AND I START ALL OVER AGAIN.

HOW THE DATA GET PICKED UP AND LOADED IN FIREFOX TO USE.
WENT FROM XP TO WINDOWS 7 SP1

    G ' Day TYRELL.

Please follow the documented procedure to the recovery of data from an old profile and answer here if you have problems at any stage. Specifically the Favorites are stored in places.sqlite and password are stored in key3db and signons.sqlite (the two files are necessary).

Please mind that Firefox generates random names for the profile directories: d not copy the directories of any profile, as their name will not work on another computer. Instead, copy the contentof the profile folder.

  • Is there a way to automatically fill bookmarks and folders of bookmarks in the toolbar and menu for a consistent view?

The separate group of bookmarks in Firefox in the toolbar, Menu and does not sort, I always found it cumbersome to use and manage. The search for bookmarks often means I have to open each one to find a specific bookmark. I am aware of the show all bookmarks in bookmarks option > drop-down Menu (but isn't in the bookmarks bar). I know how to copy the bookmarks and folders etc. but it is hard to do every time I have bookmark. And if I add a new bookmark folder and want a consistent view, I need to copy this folder in the Menu or eitherToolbar and copy the new bookmarks in the toolbar or the Menu as well.

Is there an add-on or option or other alterative that exists to provide that kind of capability?

If not, maybe an adding future functionality to Firefox to eventually change the vision presented in the bookmarks bar and Bookmarks Menu so that they match and can be activated by a new option of FireFox "change the bookmark view show merged Bookmarks Toolbar + Bookmarks Menu bookmarks and folders of bookmarks in the toolbar and menu.

    Thank you very much!

After a few edits, I found a way to accomplish what I want, and fortunately, it can be done in the application of Firefox without needing an add-on.

I simply copy the bookmarks unordered top-level in the top-level bookmarks toolbar and the bookmarks Menu of top-level. This, combined with the convention to add all new bookmarks in the folders under Unsorted Bookmarks or Unsorted Bookmarks, provides the unified content bookmark I want across all views bookmark 3 (Unsorted, Menu, Toolbar).

From the library page (grown by selecting from the menu of Firefox bookmarks bar > show all bookmarks), if I select Unsorted Bookmarks, copy and paste into the bookmarks toolbar and paste in the Menu bookmarks, this is what I want. I actually created a symbolic/reference/shortcut link to Unsorted Bookmarks the other two favorite places can be found.

With Unsorted Bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbars and bookmarks Menu, any add/remove bookmarks or add/delete records or restructuring of the bookmarks under Unsorted Bookmarks directory tree is also immediately reflected in all 3 of the possible locations of bookmark (Unsorted, toolbar, Menu).

The design and implementation of bookmarks supports this simple solution, so Bravo for designers and coders for built-in extensibility / generality which support this approach. And thanks for the posters for giving me some background and history on the bookmarks in Firefox, motivation me digging to find this solution which is quite simple and elegant.

    Thank you!

  • Acrobat 9 Pro - How do you keep the bookmark view?

I use a trial version of Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro . Whenever I open a PDF file, I have to click the bookmark icon to appear the bookmarks in the file. Is that anyway when I open a PDF file which bookmarks appear instantly and I did not click on the button. Can even be done in Abobe Reader 8 also. Basically, I would like that to be my default view bookmarks. Hope it makes sense.

In the document properties, change the initial display.

  • What is the bookmarks on my phone, not syncing with my laptop?

My Favorites from my laptop have synced with my phone, but my favorites on my phone does not match with my laptop. I have the latest version of Firebox on both devices, and since my favorite partially synchronized, I know that I have signed my account on both devices. I checked the setting on my phone and the laptop and both are configured to synchronize bookmarks.

I finally thought to it. If you go to View Bookmarks Sidebar or display all bookmarks, you can see the bookmarks synchronized from your mobile device.
