• First Cisco VIEW - change the password for the admin GUI of CLI

  We had someone install an instance of VIEW with the Vmware EGG file, but it seems that they never take the GUI password (admin) during the installation phase.

  Does anyone know the process to re-run the configuration script or to change the password for the admin of the SSH session, so we are able to connect to the GUI?

  Hi Andreas,

  Sorry, that I was not able to respond until the EGG has been redeployed, however, it is possible to change the CLI from the server admin password.

  1 SSH on the server VIEW

  2 cd to/usr/local/cisco/dcm/fm/bin

  3 «./addUser.sh--help' to view the syntax of the command.

  The syntax for the addUser.sh script is «./addUser.sh .  The adduser script to add new accounts to users or change the password for the existing user accounts.

  4. to change the admin password, the command should look like this,

  «./adduser.sh admin .

  If you have forgotten the password for the database, you can find it in the file, usr/local/cisco/dcm/jboss-as.7.2.0-Final/standalone/conf/postgres.cfg.xml.  Use the 'cat /usr/local/cisco/dcm/jboss-as.7.2.0-Final/standalone/conf/postgres.cfg.xml' command to print the contents of the file to the screen.

  Open a folder. Click on tools, Folder Options, view, and then click "reset all folders". (This resets all the settings of the folder view, custom thumbnail assigned for a folder, etc. Desktop.ini file is not affected). Close the folder. Open and customize the folder again.   I have a few problems with my Dell XP laptop.  I don't know if it happened when I installed IE8, but all of a sudden all MS Office programs, search and IE8 and Firefox tool have bland flat graph search.  Everything is actually a color with another color of the text.  It seems that computer programs years ago.  I started using Chrome for my browser because it seems to be the only one who looks the way it's supposed to.
  I tried to restore to an earlier date, but that has not worked.  I tried uninstall/install of office of research and that has not worked.   I have my XP disk and if necessary I can reinstall.  Computer seems so slow now and it used to be incredibly fast.  Help!  Thank you!!

  First of all, the pic of avatar... love made me laugh!   Okay, it's kind of weird.  First thing I would say is to make sure that your drivers are up-to-date.  You will need to check with Dell to get the latest.

  I suggest to associate as the default Windows Photo Viewer to display photo files and try to view the image files directly.

  (a) open default programs by clicking the Start button, and then click default programs.

  (b) click on associate a type of file or Protocol with a program.

  (c) click on Protocol or file type that you want the program to act as the default value.

  (d) click the program of change.

  (e) click the program that you want to use by default for the selected file type, or click the arrow next to other programs to show other programs. (If you don't see other programs or your program is not listed, click Browse to find the program you want to use, and then click Open. If no other programs are installed that are able to open the type of file or Protocol, your choice will be limited.)
