Virtual 64-bit Software

Hey guys, I am quite new to this, but would be very grateful for the help.

I have Windows Server 2008 x 64 installed and vmware server 2.0 on it, but when I tried to install any software x64Bit on it he says that my processor does not support or is not compatible with the 64-bit mode.

All my 32 bit software works very well, but I need to create a virtual server with mode x64bit to test my software on it.

Does anyone have some advice for me

What I'm doing wrong!

Hi Tommy,.

Yes, which indicates that you have installed the 32-bit version of VMWare server. No worries for the 64-bit version, it works quite stable (using myself here in the Office on 64-bit Windows but also Ubuntu 8.04 and 9.04 two 64-bit).

Thank you

  • I have Windows Vista 64 bit, but I need to use a 32-bit software

    I have a new computer with Windows Vista 64-bit and I need to use a program he wrote in 32 bits. The computer maker refused to get off my computer to Windows Vista 32 bit. They offered me to return my new computer (keep restocking fees) and buy an older version of the computer that is also 64-bit, but they are allowed to downgrade it. This 32-bit software is vital for me and now I'm stuck with this useless computer.

      Can I run 32-bit programs on a 64-bit computer?

    Most programs designed for a computer running a 32-bit version of Windows running on a computer running 64-bit Windows versions. The notable exceptions are many antivirus programs, and some hardware drivers.

    Drivers designed for 32-bit versions of Windows do not work on computers running a 64-bit version of Windows. If you try to install a printer or other device that only has 32-bit drivers available, it won't work correctly on a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't know if there is a 64-bit driver available for your device, go online to the Vista Compatibility Center"" href = "http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=142444" > Windows Vista Compatibility Center

  • 32-bit Windows 7-64 bit software up and running?

    I plan to get a new laptop with 64-bit, Windows 7 Professional.

    Can you tell me if I do not receive 64-bit, I still will be able to load all my packages of 32-bit software on a Windows 7 64 bit and will they run right with Windows 7 64 bit?

    Thanks for any response.

    Hi all

    In general most 32-bit applications will work correctly in a 64-biit operating system, but there are some exceptions.  You also need to consider hardware compatibility with a 64-bit operating system.  A simple way to check if your hardware and your applications will work would be to check the Windows 7 Compatibility Center:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

    Since the Compatibility Center, you can search your hardware and your applications by name and the 32-bit and 64-bit compatibility.

    In addition, the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor can be used to check your system for hardware and application compatibility.  Upgrade Advisor will scan your system and checks in general for possible compatibility with Windows 7 and then issues offers advice on how to solve them.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor

    Applications that have compatibility problems more often are what are called kernel mode applications and legacy 16-bit applications.  Examples might include older versions of applications based on the BACK, the anti-virus applications, old material that is not 64-bit capable.  In view of the very broad ecosystem of applications and hardware, I strongly recommend that you use the Compatibility Center and upgrade advisor to help make the decision.

    I hope this helps! Shad Larsen

  • How to install the 32-bit software on my Windows 7 Home Basic 64-bit?

    I use the family Windows 7 Edition Basic 64-bit. Now I want to install a 32-bit program (software of Rockwell RSView32) which works well on Windows XP Service Pack 2, but the installation of the program Wizard does not open in my Windows 7 Home Basic 64-bit. I tried the shooter of compatibility issues. Even he couldn't help me.

    What should I do to install RSView 32? Can someone help me?

    Thank you...

    Usually 32-bit software installs correctly on a 64-bit system, however, some applications are unspecific and if so, even in compatibility mode is unlikely to succeed

  • Can I run 32-bit software on 64-bit hardware/OS

    original title: 32-bit software but 64-bit hardware/OS

    Y at - it a fix for AutoCad (32-bit) Windows 7 (64-bit).  AutoCad does not have a solution, but I was wondering if there is something I can do with the OS (64-bit) to be able to use my 2005LT (32-bit) AutoCad.  Wouldn't be better to buy an updated release of AutoCad?  Can't wait to spend the money because the 2005 Version has everything I need.

    Your version of Autocad is compatible with win7?, and depending on the version of win7 you can have the Windows XP compatibility mode

    It usually makes no difference with a 32-bit application, it should run on a 64-bit operating system, for example, the 32-bit version of Office works well on win7 64-bit, even if it is a version for which a 64-bit one is available (2010)

    Hello

    Yes you can install 32-bit software without problem on a windows 64-bit OS. (not supported after 11.1.1.3 2008)
    Version 11.1.1.3 most products are still 32-bit (with the exception of the Regional service) so it may be interesting to stick with 32-bit web logic.

  • XP 64 bit software Antivirus

    What anti-virus software is recommended for XP 64 bit OS?

    Avast is a very good AV.

    And Newsgroups XP link below. http://www.avast.com/eng/whats_new_in_avast_v.html

    Support for 64-bit Windows

    The new avast! 4.5 home / Professional now fully supports the 64-bit Windows (avast platform! Server Edition supports Win64 (AMD64 and IA64) platforms since version 4.1). ALWIL Software anticipates an adoption of this platform as Windows XP 64 - Bit Edition will support up to 32 GB of RAM and 16 TB of virtual memory, enabling applications to run faster when working with large volumes of data. Applications can preload significantly more data into virtual memory, allowing access rapid by the 64-bit extensions to the processor. This reduces the time of loading data in virtual memory or research, reading and writing to data storage devices, applications run faster and more efficiently.

    Regular (32-bit) antivirus applications are unable to operate correctly on the 64-bit Windows platform because they rely on 32-bit kernel-mode drivers. The new avast! uses 64-bit drivers natives, offering the same level of protection as in the 32-bit Windows environments. The installation package is the same for 32-bit versions and 64-bit - the Setup program automatically detects the operating system, it runs and installs all necessary files.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    free version:
    http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
    Avast anti-virus is XP, Vista and Windows 7 compatible (32-bit and 64-bit Versions), FREE, auto update and a user of low resources from your computer.
    And, don't have 1 (one) anti-virus installed / running on your computer at any time.
    Conflicts can occur if you have more than 1 (one).
