Virus infection

I need to get protection against new viruses, but I don't have a credit card.  What are my options?  I can not also recover my product key code.  I currently use anitvirus and norton security.  I also tried to download a new antivirus program called quick heal antivirus, but it doesn't seem to work. What can I do?

Norton is one of the poorest of the anti-virus products, so get rid of it
is a good thing to do. I've never heard of quick heal antivirus, and
This suggests that it is also a bad product.

I recommend that you get either of these two freeware antivirus
programs: Avast and Avira. After got rid of Norton, search
for them and a download and installation.

  • on the xp computer virus infection

    * - Original title - corrupt protected windows files

I bought a used computer and it turns out he had a virus which damaged protected windows file. It did come with an xp disk. If I buy a new program windows that will fix my problem or the virus still be there and gnaw the new OS?

    Hello

I want to let you know that the virus will always be there in the disk hard even if you install a new operating system, unless you do a clean install. Therefore, the elimination of the virus completely would be the best option from now.

You need to do a full scan to remove all remaining virus.

    Microsoft safety scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Warning of Security Scanner: there could be a loss of data while performing an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate.

Since you do not have a disk, I suggest to create a new user account and check if everything is working well.

To add a new user to the computer: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/usercpl_add_user.mspx?mfr=true

If the problem is resolved, then follow the steps in the article to transfer data from the damaged to the new user profile user profile.

If the problem persists, then you must do a repair of XP installation to get a new OS without the corrupt files. Please refer to the Windows XP section.

Got a big window that opens indicating 28 (?) virus/infections found and I need to reconfigure / sign up for XP Home Security and allow him to get rid of these infections. Never recorded this before scan. It doesn't let me go anywhere to check anything, can not access the internet, continues to say that you are infected, danger danger, for example. Turned it all off, the computer restarts. Can't do anything with it... Guess I need to take it to someone who can remove the pop up? I have nothing works, it will open a homepage for a second then throw it and packaged pop in front of everyone. Try adware and spybot and windows defender. He stops adware running and sends an error message that it stopped unexpectedly.  Windows Defender shows no abnormalities.  Never had any problems with this desktop computer... used mostly for commercial sites, not a lot of surfing, etc. made. • A Virus infect my computer from the system restore?

My computer has been infected recently by (I think) a kind of malware that would be redirecting My search Google results (with a warning of Google chrome that the site had a low signature) and remove Windows Defender. I tried many possible solutions on the internet, but none of them worked. In the end, I decided to do a system restore to about two days before, he started, and my computer seems to work very well.

After the restoration of the system, I installed AVG Antivirus (paid version / pro) and did a full scan of the computer. I think he deleted something like that harmful things we found on my computer.
Now, three days after the system restore, I've read a few articles and questions on the internet that says a system restore does not remove a virus and that she could hide in the system restore files. I don't know if this is related, but some sites will not load for me (like 'wiiublog' and 'malwarebytes' Web sites), and when I check on another site (like 'downforeveryoneorjustme'), he says that the Web sites are on the rise. In addition, some Web sites load with just the words and links, but no images.
The virus infect my computer in system restore files? It still does damage to my computer?
If so, is there something I need to check my files system restore (I read that you need to turn off and do another scan, but I don't want to do anything without first aid)?
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2.
I also Iobit Advanced Systemcare running.

If this is the case, no matter what your problem was, it was probably not
malware. A system restore is rarely effective in eliminating
    malware.

After the restoration of the system, I installed AVG Antivirus (paid version / pro) and did a full scan of the computer. I think he deleted something like that harmful things we found on my computer.

In my opinion, AVG, who was one of the best anti-virus programs
is no longer. There are several better choices:

For an anti-virus program, I recommend eSet NOD32 or Kaspersky, if you
are willing to pay for it. If you want a free anti-virus, I recommend
(do not run more than one antivirus program) one of the following
    three:

    Avira AntiVir
    Avast
    Microsoft Security Essentials

You also need anti-spyware software (even if you run a program such as)
Microsoft Security Essentials, with integrated anti-spyware capability
It). I recommend that you download and install MalwareBytes (freeware)
    AntiMalware

Now, three days after the system restore, I've read a few articles and questions on the internet that says a system restore does not remove a virus and that she could hide in the system restore files.

An infection in a restore point is completely harmless, unless you
    restore from this restore point.
The only way to remove the virus is to turn off System Restore, then again, but who's going to delete all the your restore points, not just the one (s) infected. Alternatively, you can just wait for the points that are infected at the end of the chain - a maximum of 90 days of fall.
My preference is to wait 90 days.

  • Cannot start the computer after Virus infection

    Hello
I fixed with a virus program all viruses on my laptop, and of course I deleted one is infected.

When I rebooted my laptop that the engine was told that autocheck was not found and I want to skip this task.

After that, I come to the xp-connection (I've never seen before) showing my user name in the user field and asks me to put a password. (I've not due to the fact that I've never used it)

If I just go along to a click on OK without putting a password the laptop starts up (with the corresponding music) and stops after a few seconds.

Finally I got to the same place, I described at the beginning.

    Thanks for helping me...

I tried to close several times several times and there was no fence. Don't know how but I was finally able to close Google Chrome and I turned off my computer. After restarting, it seems to have worked OK.

Was it a hoax or is my computer at risk? And if it is disabled, hackers would still have access to my files and iCloud? Everything is password protected.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! TX!

Start in Safe Mode with network , then download the Belarc Advisor and run it on the infected computer. Among a large amount of hardware and software information will be the original product code for your Windows XP. If you can't get on the site of BelArc, download from another computer and load it on a CD, DVD or thumb drive to get to the infected machine.

  • Bad Virus infection. Need help please!

My laptop (Dell MS 1350 operating Windows XP Pro, sp2) became infested with a very bad virus. The symptoms were:
    1. many programs did not more open with an error message "..." exe is not a valid win32 application ".
    2. no programs of virus removal, including virus removal tool malicious Windows, AVG and other 'free' specific patch programs would be open and run.
    3. the computer does not open in Mode safe more.
    4. Windows 'last known good start' does not change the situation.
02:05 does not repair Windows (due to no Mode start safe) facilities, now, the computer continues to restart without opening windows. I was able to get a blue error screen "Setup has not found all HDD devices installed in your computer."

The Dell Diagnostic Utility shows no problem with the hard drive or other devices.
How can I get out of this dilemma without having to reformat my hard drive?
Thank you very much for your help.

    Hermann

It has infector of very bad polymorphic file that probably does that.  People with that see many security forums.  It is capable of infecting executable files (.exe) machine and the screen saver (.scr) files. However, the problem is that the virus has a number of bugs in the code, and therefore, it can misinfect a part of the file executable files and as a result, the files are damaged irretrievably. From now on, security experts suggest that the best way to solve this problem is the format and clean install or destructive recovery if you have a recovery partition OEM as the best way to clean out the infection and it's way better and safer to return the machine to its normal operating state.
