VISA possible use on Instruments for Ethernet CRIO

This seems to be a simple question, but I saw a thread on line which indicates that you may not use CRIO to communicate with a device ethernet using VISA... only the TCP - IP basic drivers.  It was in 2008, but sees not anywhere where it says you can.  I use 2009.  I have another engineer working on this and they have not been able to run, but I didn't jump to yet, as I'm busy with other things.  I was wondering if anyone online knows immediately if possible.  Thank you!

  • Use of LabView for exploitation of Bosch Rexroth HCS01

    Hello people,

I am a student assistant and my current project is to complete what was launched in a work of degree more than a year ago: to build an experimental platform to test the effect of superconductivity on maglev technology. Part of this experimental platform is a precision three-rail network operated by compact inverters HCS01 (IndraDrive Cs) by Bosch Rexroth.

My question is: is it possible to use LabView to operate the three axes of a central VI?

I have already connected all three compact inverters to a computer and I am able to operate using most Ds-startup-easy mode, but I can only operate separately and not of a single window.

Thanks in advance, any help would be appreciated!

    Greetings,

    Paul Masuch

    Hello world

I just found this forum article on control components Rexroth with LabView and as a representative of Rexroth, I disagree that West no way is easier to control than using Ethernet/IP.

We have an official partnership with National Instruments, and offers a complete Package of VI for all our components (IndrDrives and IndraControl automata) to access all the features of a PLC or lead of Bosch Rexroth. This is possible thanks to our Open Core of Bosch Rexroth and our open approach we take with our automation components. For controllers the VI contains more than 850 screws to communicate directly from your LabView execution to the controller. These packages are completely free for you and you can download the packages from our Web site

    http://www.boschrexroth.com/OCE

(access after registration in our network in engineering).

In addition it s also possible to control our readers a cRIO OR using the Council of Europe.

Here's a sneak peek of our open main Interface feature. There are SDKS for several languages of programming and several technologies including National Instruments Soft - and hardware.

So you see, West don't need to learn PLC programming, when you want to connect LabView to Automation from Rexroth.

If you have any trouble Don t hasitate to contact me!

  • How to use Extech Instruments model 407123 with Labview 7.1

I'm pretty new to Labview.  With the help of this forum, I was able to configure my DAQpad 6020E with my Labview 7.1.

Now, I'm looking at using an Extech Instruments Thermo-anemometre to hot wire (407123) in my experience and it works through Labview.  According to my research, I was led to believe that I have to use the Instrument i/o Assistant and NI-Visa, but I'm having a lot of difficulties.  First, the thermo-anemometre is wired for a RS232 interface and I connected to an interface RS232 converter USB, which is then plugged into my computer.  I have the driver for the converter.  When I plug the thermo-anemometre into my computer, MAX it reads as a serial port and it is listed as COM3.  MAX argues that the device works properly.  However, when I run e/s and Labview Instrument wizard say to read the data, I get an error of bff0015 and it says that the device has expired.  I tried to change the time and I still get the same error.  I guess that means that Labview and my device are not communicating.

I saw a mention of the pilots of the instrumentation, but I could not find my particular device.  I guess that's the root of my problem and that if I had an instrument driver to run my device in Labview that it works correctly.  So here are my questions.

    (1) what should I take data by a third party thermo-anemometre in Labview?

    (2) am I correct in thinking I need some kind of driver instruments?  And if so, where could I find one (I have already searched for one and he did not)?

    (3) is possible and practical to take data through an instrument of party DAQpad Labview and a third at the same time?

    (4) are there guides or tutorials that I could use that can show me how to do what I'm doing?

    Thank you.

  • Emulation of the instrument for testing purposes

    Hi all:

It is a more general question about the design of software systems:

I have a program, written in C++, which communicates with several instruments OR on different buses - GPIB, Ethernet, DAQmx, series. The program makes certain features of test, control instruments, stores results, etc. Pretty standard stuff.

However, we continue to make changes to the above programme and, before it can be released to the nature, it has itself to test. What I wanted to do, it's this test script and test some of the components of the program that don't involve not talk to the instruments. This is possible offline on the server to build automatically, for example. But to do this I have to turn off, sort of speak, the instruments beforehand.

Does anyone have experience in design of support for this kind of instrument emulated mode? What are the General design strategies to do? Warnings to avoid? There may be tools/libraries available than this.

    Thank you

    -Ilya.

For a single software option, you must use only the IVI drivers for Ethernet/series/GPIB instruments. The IVI specifications require a simulation mode.

D Biel - the link does not work. Is - this other AE page we see published from time to time?

  • File reading EDS for EtherNet IP

    Hi friends,

I need to check the file EDS for EtherNet IP communication. I want to read the EDS file, check the details of the seller and the parameters which are written in the EDS file in order to check.

Is it possible to read the file EDS for EtherNet IP?

    Kind regards

    Ganesha Moorthy

    Hi gnshmrthy,

The example displayed KB should work with your EDS file.  I was able to use it successfully with the default values for the section (device) and the key (VendName).  I think that you run into questions because you are using an invalid value for the key.  In this image, I use a red arrow points to the section and I'm circling the different keys that are valid.

As a result, you should see results like this:

Let me know if it works!

Original title: I received an error message for, controller ethernet, the drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

I don't know how to install the drivers for ethernet controller, and I don't think that I have a CD for it. And I don't know where to go.

    Hi jhawkerchic,

    1. What is the number of brand and model of your computer?

To resolve this problem, you must install the latest version of the drivers for the device.

You can check the manufacturer's website and download and install the latest version of the drivers available for the device.

You can see the following article for more information about the error Code 28:

  • use several fixes for live

    Hello;

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but we'll have our first live concert in 2 weeks and I need some information.

an instrumental songs is running in the background (desktop dj) and we want to add some live and vocal instruments using the main stage 3.

I figured out, how to import logic channel strip parameters x 3 MainStage (audio and midi); but we want to use more than one midi instrument or an audio patch at a time.

    How does it work?

Choose an audio and midi patch at the same time?

    E. g.. : us about two people, the instrumental is running in the background and each of us plays a midi instrument and the other is sings the song with the main stage.

as well; Yes; Sorry; but our show is so close...

    TX so

Not sure I exactly understand your question, but I would get a terminology directly, Apple screwed up:

    in Mainstage:

"Channel Strip" = Patch (in the traditional definition, one only sound or instrument)

    'Patch' = Set/Setup/Mix/Performance (a group of hotfixes)

So a MainStage 'Patch' can contain any number of bands of different channels (traditional: patches). It's for you to decide how you want to trigger their unique. The most common is affecting parts of the different keyboard, or you could use several keyboards and have them routed to the sounds as a result.

Here's how to set up my workflow: for every song I play live, I use a "patch" by song, with patches named for their song, sorted alphabetically in the list of patches. I use anywhere from 1 to 10 + bands of channels by 'patch', which are divided between several keyboards and keyboard parts. Using this workflow, I can't spend the mid-song patches and can keep my patches much more organized.

So my list of "patches" looks like:

"Don ' t Stop believing"-contains bass synth & piano split and a wire saw for keyboard #2

"Rich Girl" - Wurli #1, strings on keyboard #2 keyboard

"Superstition" - Clavinet in the left hand, Horn in the right section

    etc. (on about 140 songs)

Not everyone there only this way, many people use a "patch" for a more individual sound, or perhaps a sequence of keyboard split. So you CAN set them up like that and just get mid-song if you need to:

    "Piano".

    "Piano/synth thread.

    "With organ.

    "Rhodes/Strings.

    etc.

Everyone has their different way to organize their work performance. MainStage is a VERY deep customizable program that allows different ways to implement. I should also mention "Alias Channel Strips', which are incredibly useful. Every channel strip takes a certain amount of CPU and RAM, and it would be very easy to overload your computer with only a dozen a few patches of dozens. But as many times you want to use the same sound over and over again in different configurations: Piano split with pads, piano split with organ, piano split with lead (etc). Instead of making copies of the channel strip, you can copy it, and then choose 'Paste as alias', who will make a copy that is not unique, but it is inspired by all the technical features of the original and does use more CPU or RAM so if you have a. It's exactly like aliases files on a Mac, they aren't really a copy of the file, but a pointer.

I hope that helps! But do a little research and reflection, I'm sure you'll come up with a good workflow to organize your live material!

  • Driver for Ethernet - Satellite Pro A300D controller

As the title says I need a driver for ethernet on a laptop A300D controller.

First of all, let me say that asked me to seek this by my uncle who has identified it as the problem, it's not my fault if I ask something that does not exist.
I think the problem is that the laptop cannot connect to an internet connection.
It's a wireless connection that can be plugged.
I can connect to my computer wireless and via cable in my Xbox 360.

    Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Steve

    Hello

Ethernet controller could be the LAN or WLan card.
I know that some Pro A300D series were equipped with the Realtek WLan and LAN Realtek chip.

Visit the Web of Realtek, and there, you could download the driver for LAN and WLan card.

    Welcome them

  • The use of DAQmxWriteDigitalScalarU32 for write channels share the same ports?

    Hello

    I have a USB-6509 and NOR-DAQmx installed 15.5.1. Using the ANSI c api.

Is it possible to create several independent channels that use different lines of the same port?

    DAQmxCreateTask("",&th1)

    DAQmxCreateDOChan(th1,"Dev1/line0:4","",DAQmx_Val_ChanForAllLines)

    DAQmxStartTask (th1)

    DAQmxCreateTask("",&th2)

    DAQmxCreateDOChan(th2,"Dev1/line5:9","",DAQmx_Val_ChanForAllLines)

    DAQmxStartTask (th2)

    ....

and repeat for the following strings:

    Dev1 / line0:4
    Dev1 / line5:9
    Dev1 / line10:14
    Dev1 / line15:19
    Dev1 / line24:28
    Dev1 / line29:33

So I can use DAQmxWriteDigitalScalarU32 to write to each task independently?

    for example:

    DAQmxWriteDigitalScalarU32 (th1, 1, 10, 0 x 1, NULL)

    DAQmxWriteDigitalScalarU32 (th2, 1, 10, 0 x 2, NULL)

    DAQmxWriteDigitalScalarU32 (th3, 1, 10, 0 x 3, NULL)

    ...

    DAQmxWriteDigitalScalarU32 (th6, 1, 10, 0 x 6, NULL)

These tasks will interfere with each other because they use the same port, but are assigned different lines?

If this isn't the case, I bits to the data, if the task/channel does not start at the Px.0 line?

    Thank you!

Yes, as long as you use the same line on different channels, they must not interfere with each other for this reason, you can create a channel by line if you wish

The reference to using the DAQmxWriteDigitalScalarU32 function:
"A sample of the integer unsigned 32-bit unique, wrote to a task that contains a single digital output channel. "Use this format for devices with up to 32 lines per port.

    http://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/370471AC-01/daqmxcfunc/daqmxwritedigitalscalaru32/

So yes, the DAQmxWriteDigitalScalarU32 can write on each task independently

  • How to use extern Code in LabView / cRio

    Hi guys,.

After that I had created a Matlab/Simulink model, I use the model Interface Toolkit to generate a library of VxWorks file (.out) because I want to import this model on a cRio-9024. So I copy the library of VxWorks for the cRio (/ nor-rt/system /).

However, how do I open the file in LabView now, so that I can use the features in the model?

I hope someone can help me.

    Thank you

    I'm sorry, my fault.
I used the wrong path for the VxWorks library file.
