• NI-VISA run-time engine

  When 'building' a LabVIEW program containing NI-VISA under VI (for example to connect with USB), I had problems to get the code 'built' to find my devices NOR VISA, even if the NI VISA's USB drivers are correctly installed on the computer 'target'.

  (The code 'built' will run if the target machine has an installation of LabVIEW to this topic, including NI-VISA)

  -The NI-VISA run-time engine will automatically appear in the 'Build' (because of the Sub - NI VISA VI), or should I specify myself - and how?

  Create an installer as you did the executable version.  The installation program will be for the executable, not for the original project.

• correct faulty run configuration

  I based my project on one of the samples and simply copied.

  Now that it does something that I wanted to rename it, I changed the name of the project, the name of the pro file in the handle bar and the makefile.

  I ran clean and build later, the generation takes awhile but is completed successfully.

  When I try to run the project, I get the warning "no binary. The binary files are there, but the points of run to the old binary (hellocascades) configuration. The text is grey and I can't change it. The clues how I can get the run configuration to point to the new file? Creating a new run configuration does not help, it still points to the old (nonexistent) binary file.

  Nevermind, after a file search, I found some values in the source of the bar - descriptor.xml, I had to manually change.

• Error: The property node (arg 8) visa to configure the Serial Port

  I'm trying to control 8 USB to R232 via a HUB of 10 ports Tripp-Lite (model U222-010-R) and do not have consistent results.  Just after rebooting my computer, I have no problem in running the following program: (I tried to download the VI directly but without success, so here's the extract)

  

  I made sure that the COM ports that I select are that one is available on both the Device Manager and in the NOT-MAX.  But after awhile, it does not work or if the HUB is unplugged and replugged in (even if the names are correct and up-to-date in devices and NOR-MAX Manager) I get the error code "property Node (arg 8) visa set up a Serial Port (Instr) .vi" I want to be able to see these ports consistantly more without having to restart my computer all the time.  Is there a better Setup for this? The previous installation of the computer has a PCI card for it and we have not had any problems with the code, but are facing problems with our upgrade.  The old computer ran Windows XP and had cards PCI and the new computer that I am using a Windows 8 and the USB HUB.  Thanks for any help you can give!

  No! That's the 50mA by port not 500mA.  an order of magnitude full powered USB (if you want reliable - if you want real problems which appears irratically each time only and is a headache to track down which would)

  The VISA driver must be installed separately. Unfortunately, it is not a way to integrate it into a stand-alone project.

• RS232 read series with COM1

  Hello.  I am hoping there is a simple answer to a problem I have.

  I had previously been using the 30 day trial of LabView to begin to create an application for reading data from an output to RS232 instrument via the serial port on my laptop.  I have this based on the base series reading and writing example and it worked great.

  Now, I have purchased the software Labview base, had downloaded the software and activated.  When I open the VI that worked before, he now won't read data from the instruments. -There is nothing appears in the window of indicator text 'string of reading. '

  I checked that the instrument and the connection is fine by the acquisition of data in HyperTerminal - I use the same settings for data transfer in LabVIEW.

  The instrument automatically prints / sends data at specified intervals (I got this game to 1 sec).  Some commands must be written to the instrument.

  I wonder if there is something with the LabView installation that requires the computer to configure ports?  The resource name of Visa in the VISA run configuration is "COM1", as it had been previously.  LabVIEW should be advised as to which means "COM1"?  No, I had to do before, so I doubt little.

  I have attached the VI.  Note that it is rather messy in the deal for the reading series function structure, because I have been playing with how to manage the data.

  But if you mean somehow, you wish to change your Installer, post-build, it is not possible.

• Need a Clarification on the installed component and run Simulator Configuration

  I need clarification on what the plugin Eclipse is telling me. There are two parameters that are confusing me. For components installed (found under preferences/Window/BlackBerry JDE/Installed Components), I have a choice of 5.0.0 4.7.0,4.6.1, 4.6.0 4.5.0 and 4.3.0.

  Depending on which component I select when I go in the tab Configurations.../Simulator/course walk, I see a different mix of devices.  In all cases, there is a default Simulator.

  Initially, I assumed that each JDE component supports a mixture of different devices, and that is it compiled correctly, I would be assured that the app would work for all devices on the tab run Simulator Configuration.  In my tests, I found theopposite.  I also assume that, for each component of the JDE, there is a 'default' Simulator that was representative of all devices in the drop-down list run Configuration Simulator.  In my tests, am not sure what actually represents the Simulator 'by default'.

  Can someone clarify how to JDE and Configuration simulators run installed interact and a developer show how to ensure that their application is running on a mix of devices?

  When I finally get to the point where I am ready to deliver, what are the points of decision of installation?  Is it enough to simply require a specific version of an operating system (for example 4.7?) or do I have to create a grid and check the two model number and version of the operating system?

• When you create a program to install the application in BT, which driver or the runtime must be installed to install the interactive control of VISA?

  I have created an installer requires the use of the LabVIEW application builder and use it to install NI MAX.  However, after you run the Setup program, interactive control of the VISA is disabled in NI MAX.

  The installation program installs the following components of NEITHER: NI LabVIEW Run-Time 2014 SP-1(64-bit) NI LabWindows/CVI shared Run-Time Engine 2013 SP2, OR Measurement & Automation Explorer 14.5, NOR-488. 2 application Development Support (including the time of execution), - VISA Support Configuration 14.0.1, OR - VISA DURATION 14.0.1, 14.0 Server NI-VISA, NOR systems Configuration Runtime 14.5.0, vision performance, performance dc power.

  If I download and run the installer 488.2, interactive control of the VISA is activated in NI MAX.  But the Setup program created with the application builder does not seem to install the necessary components.

  What needs to be added to the installer to allow the interactive control of VISA (VISAIC)?

  I neglected to include OR-IMAQdx in Setup, which explains why NEITHER MAX was not to recognize the camera on the computer with the new facility.

• How I WRITE VISA to 2 devices of a while loop?

  I have developed a fairly complex vi that reads data from two sensors and controls SERIES written to two engine controllers.  The idea is to send the engine controls more or less "simultaneously", and they are generally not the same commands.  The two motor controls are determined by the sensor input with each iteration of the WHILE loop and subsequently sent to the VISA WRITE motor controller.  I was getting an errors and failures with the vi, then, we decided to break up and test the components individually.  In the original vi, I had two sets of VISA OPEN, WRITE, NEAR wired inside the WHILE loop and he sent two orders for both engines successfully.

  The test code I have attached here, "simple VISA speed controller rev1.vi" has the VISA sequence configured around the loop according to the advice of OR.  He suggested that the VISA OPEN and CLOSE while loop and wiring outside the VISA two WRITE such as shown.  However, in this configuration, only the command of the CHANNEL 3 runs.  The CHAIN 1 command does not run.  The string ' / 1V...» "engine controls 1, and" / 3V... " "engine controls 3.  So, by changing the 1 and 3, I order two this vi engines, but only, the chain is the first VISA WRITE running effectively, regardless of the engine is selected in the order of the string.  There is no malfunction of the motor or wiring, and I order the two motors separately using the software provided with the manufacturer of the motor controller, therefore, the hardware has been confirmed to work properly.  I use NI USB-RS232 to send the string on the motors controllers.  Motor controllers are connected in Garland, and each has a switch address so 1 engine knows how to respond to ' / 1V...» «and the engine with the value '3' address switch responds to ' / 3V...» "etc.

  The other code attached here, "simple VISA speed controller 2 motors.vi" sends the two commands at the same time.

  So, why the second VISA WRITE does not work the '... rev1.vi '?

  Hello. I have a Macbook Air from 2012. The Macbook works perfectly fine when it is plugged, but the minute I unplug the unit, some video that I might be streaming suddenly freezes, even if sometimes the audio is not yet. Weird. The battery works, even if it runs in less than an hour. It has a cycle of 657 counter. The battery health is diagnosed as being 'good '. Anyone know why this is happening and what I can do about it?

• 2 rename the iPads of Configurator

  Configurator 1 finally bit the dust for me a few days back. In fact, it was the closest, I've never been to eject the Mac all of my 1st floor office. The only thing that stopped was the realization that it would be more fun, 10th floor and I didn't go all the way to the top...

  So. in all seriousness... Configurator 1 decided to refuse to accept that my Mac has been authorized to download content few days back. Weird as it worked reasonably for a few years now. I tried a few difficulties but failed. Losing patience, I decided now was the right time to switch to 2 Configurator anyway, so felt I have to give it a stab.

  So far I'm pretty impressed. I mean Yes, the layout is the absurd limit, but parts of it seem a bit easier on the eyes. And on the plus side, this version thought that my Mac was allowed to transfer applications to devices. So happy days. I created a plan, profile and assigned applications. I then prepared and downloaded the action plan on my carpet with ease.

  The ONLY problem I have is when I go to rename one of my iPads. I'm going to edit-> device name. I can type my name in, or use one of the predefined variables. No matter what I want, when I click OK, I get a message:

  "Cannot rename on iPad. Enter a different name of "ipadname" and try again. »

  As you can imagine, I tried again. Several times even using names as simple as '1' or 'A' or ' Hello' or "iPad1" and as I said, I've also used some of the predefined variables, such as a serial number. All to nothing does not.

  I'm having this same problem. Switched on a laptop that was running Configurator 1 with a new laptop computer and the 2 Configurator. Everything looks great, any installation, I have them finally go for rename them and... one of them never successfully renamed. Same mistake you get for each of them. I tried individually and collectively, no difference.
