Vista 32-bit home asking for activation.

Vista Home Basic 32-bit requests occur when it is turn on 2 years ago. I did get a new processor. Why would he do that?

In some cases, a change in CPU can cause this, just to reactivate by phone:

I have Windows vista Ultimate edition. but he started asking for activation after the windows update while it has already been activated before the update.

    Hello, Pichon,

If Windows Vista application unexpected activation

On rare occasions, you may be prompted to activate Windows Vista on a computer that did not previously require Windows Vista activation or has already been activated successfully. For example, this may occur on a computer on which Windows Vista was preinstalled by an OEM installation or Volume licensing and are major hardware changes occurred, such as upgrading the hard disk and memory at the same time.

If you are prompted to reactivate Windows Vista, you can do this by using the Windows Activation Wizard to:

    1. Click Start, and then click computer.
    2. Click System Properties on the toolbar, and then click click here to activate Windows now in the Windows activation area. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click continue.
    3. Select the Windows Vista activation method that you want, and then follow the instructions.

To avoid this problem in the future, obtain the latest service pack for your version of Windows Vista, either through automatic updates or direct download.

To update to Windows Vista and prevent this activation problem does not happen:

    1. Click Start, click all programs, and then click Windows Update.
    2. Click find updates.
    3. As soon as Windows Vista found the updates, click the install updates button.

  • Vista 64 Bit Home Premium does not start when a disc is in the optical drive

I tried to understand this for a long time, but I thought I might as well ask for help.  I use Vista 64 - bit Home Edition Premium and the problem I have is that I cannot restart my machine if a disc is in the optical drive. Specifically, if I have a DVD or Bluray disc in the optical drive (IE a BD - ROM drive). When I restart my computer and a disk is present, the startup process is going past the initial windows screen, but that's how far it goes. My desktop (I don't have a password to connect). Initially, I thought it was a matter of priority to boot but the boot process starts from the hard drive but stops at half way through. Then, I went into the BIOS and removed the optical drive completely from the boot priority list.  But there is no change in behavior. The process stops with the only thing visible on the splash screen is a black screen and the hard drive light flashes and goes out from time to time.  I use this computer as my Home Theater PC and sometimes I have to restart my machine when a movie DVD or a Bluray movie is in the optical drive. I would appreciate any response that can help me solve this problem...

    Thanks in advance...

There may be something wrong with the files on your hard disk.  We will try to update to see if it helps:

Do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not resolve the problem, try the following:

To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, follow these steps (I believe you need a disc for Installation of Vista to do that, even if some Installtion OEM disc might work, but probably not all the recovery discs).

    1. put the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.

    2. press a key when you are prompted.

    3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.

    4. click on repair your computer.

    5. click on the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.

    6. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.

    7. type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

Note If rebuilding the BCD does not resolve the startup problem, you can export and delete the BCD, and then run this option again. In doing so, you ensure that the BCD is completely rebuilt. To do this, type the following commands at the command prompt Windows RE:

    ·        bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    ·        c:

    ·        Boot CD

    ·        BCD attrib s h - r

    ·        Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

If this does not work, or if you do not have the disk, try EasyBCD http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1 and see if that works and does everything well.  Make sure what you are doing or you could mess up your boot files and you'd be in a lot of trouble.

I don't know if the problem is even caused by startup files (but it is possible if it is not the BIOS), but you'd better check and if the procedures are followed to the letter as stated there is no harm in trying.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • Vista 64-bit Home Premium Backup and Restore

-What is the backup program included with Vista 64-bit Home Prem supposed to create backup files in WinZip?

    Hi VanHylant,

A backup file is a copy of a file that is stored in a separate location from the original.

The backup file will have a .bkf file name extension. So let us try to uninstall Winzip and see if the problem is resolved.

  • Vista 32 bit Home Premium upgrade to Windows 7

I have been using Windows Vista, 32-bit, Home Premium with success.  Recently, it has been suggested to me that I had to upgrade to Windows 7.  I want to keep, at least, I currently have the same capabilities.  I have a few questions.

    1. because I don't want to back up or modify files or programs, is it wise to upgrade to Windows 7, 32 bit, Home Premium?

    2. in the case, which version do you recommend?

    3. should I download it from Microsoft or do I have to download it also?

    4. If not should I buy in a store?  Could you recommend one?

5 is it complicated to install?  Do you know a good site that could help me to install it?

    6. Finally you would give a price range that I have to pay?

I know this has been long, but it seems to be a complex issue.

The only legal Windows 7 download available is now Microsoft, as Microsoft has stopped DigitalRiver Windows 7 ISO downloads.

There is no free upgrade to Windows 7 and not Microsoft Download, unless you have a the retail license /key of product already and I wanted to reinstall...

There was a special offer for this a couple of years back; but this offer has expired for a long time.

Before purchasing Windows 7, follow these steps:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

  • Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium operating systems disks

I bought my laptop with Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium installed on it.  I've since upgraded to Windows 7.  Unfortunately, there are a few programs that will not work under Windows 7 little matter what I do.

So, I would try to run a virtual Windows Vista system.  The problem is that I can't find my disk with the operating system of Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium on it.

Download the Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium operating system so that I can burn a disc for a back-up or I can order a drive with the OS on it?

    Thank you!

You can not upgrade to Windows 7, and then use the Vista OS you used as part of the upgrade to install another (even virtual).

There is no Vista free download legal available.

And Microsoft provide no DVD for computers of the brand OEM (Dell, HP, etc).

Borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

I have an Inspiron 530 w 4 MB of Ram and an Intel Quad Core 2 Q6600 2.4 GHz w/Windows Vista 32-bit Home.  Should what Windows OS I upgrade to 7 or 8.

    Hi Snowgolf,

The Red Cross means that you cannot use Windows 8 in your pc. You can have problems with an upgrade. You'd be better off buying a full installation of Windows 7.

  • CS6 and Premiere Elements continues to ask for activation

    Hello

I am a system engineer in a school. We have a license to Site K12 for CS6 and we bought about 30 versions of single license of elements of Prime Minister through authorized dealers. I have deployed CS6 a few years ago on our old PC by installing the software on a single computer and cloning then the pc 30 times with CloneZilla. That has worked well.

A year later, I repeated the procedure on the other 25 computers. No problem.

Last summer, I did the same thing to replace 30 PCs that I had cloned the first time. Since then, I have to activate CS6, again and again once, which indicates a trial version. Also the other classrooms with 25 pc's started asking for activation after 2 years without worries.

In October I installed Premiere Elements on each individual computer one by one. And that went well for a few months but then all of a sudden PE began to request activation. My colleagues make me crazy with their remarks and their concerns.

So far, I have tried to activate CS6 by creating a file for serialization with the adobe application manager. When I run the file and restart the program I'm invited is no longer for activation... for a while.

There is no way of knowing what device invites you at the moment. It is random. Sometimes it's just a camera, then all of a sudden there are 3-4.

    Help, please

    Maarten

    Hi Martin,

Adobe Premiere elements 12 (single license) requires connection /activation if you installed individually, however, you can remove the sign window using Adobe provisioning toolkit

If you have to PRE 12 Adobe volume licenses. Please visit the link below to find the workflow.
